Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the contribution of the guided inquiry learning model to the reasoning ability of students. This research is a quasi-experimental study using two groups of samples (experimental and control) that have been declared normal and homogeneous. The study was conducted at SMP Negeri 27 Medan in 8th-grade students with two classes sample, each class with 40 students. The instrument used was in the form of a reasoning ability test consisting of pretest questions (6 items) and posttests (3 items) which have been declared valid and reliable. The results showed that in the guided inquiry class, students 'reasoning ability was influenced by the KAM value of 66%, while in the expository class, students' reasoning ability was influenced by the KAM value of 71.3%. This shows that the contribution of KAM in the guided inquiry class is smaller than the contribution of KAM in the expository class on reasoning ability (66% 71.3%).

Abstract

Abstrak. Salah satu permasalahan terbesar dalam pembelajaran matematika modern ialah kebiasaan guru dalam menyajikan ilmu matematika dalam bentuk produk jadi, siap pakai, abstrak dan diajarkan secara mekanistik. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa dilihat dari capaian pembelajaran siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan di SMP Islam Al-Ullum Terpadu, Medan. Pembelajaran dilaksanakan untuk mengajarkan materi dasar aljabar pada siswa kelas VII yang berjumlah  38 orang siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes dan non-tes. Tes yang digunakan berbentuk uraian sebanyak 5 butir soal yang mengacu pada kemampuan siswa dalam pemecahan masalah. Sedangkan instrumen non tes digunakan untuk mengamati aktivitas yang terjadi selama proses pembelajaran di kelas. Siswa dinyatakan tuntas secara individu apabila memperoleh nilai lebih dari 75 dengan kriteria ketuntasan belajar minimal 75% dari total siswa. Disimpulkan bahwa pendekatan matematika realistik dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada saat siklus II yang dilihat dari rata-rata kemampuan siswa di kelas, yaitu dari 72,474 menjadi 76,895; persentase ketuntasan belajar klasikal siswa, yaitu dari 52,63% menjadi 78,95%; demikian pula yang terjadi jika dilihat dari aspek ketuntasan siswa dalam menerapkan prosedur penyelesaian masalah, yaitu dengan rata-rata persentase peningkatan sebesar 8,553.Kata Kunci: pendekatan matematika realistik, kemampuan siswa, pemecahan masalah. Abstract. One of the biggest problems in modern mathematics learning is the practice of teachers in presenting mathematics in the form of finished products, ready-made, abstract and mechanistic teaching. The purpose of this research is to determine the enhancement of student problem-solving skills seen from student learning access. This research is a class action research conducted in the integrated Al-Ullum Islamic Junior high School, Medan. They were learning conducted to teach the primary algebraic material in class VII students that are 38 students. The instruments used are test and non-test. The test used is a description of 5 rounds of questions that refer to the ability of students in problem-solving. Non-test instruments used to observe activities that occur during the learning process in the classroom. The student completed learning when obtaining a value of more than 75 with a minimum learning criteria of 75% of the total students. It concluded that the realistic mathematical approach could improve problem-solving skills during the II cycle seen from the average student's ability in the class, i.e. from 72.474 to 76.895; Percentage of the student's classical learning, which is from 52.63% to 78.95%; Similarly, if viewed from the student's submission aspect in implementing a problem-solving procedure, that is with an average percentage increase of 8.553.Keywords: realistic mathematical approaches, student skills, problem-solving.

Abstract

Kemampuan seseorang dalam memaknai suatu konsep pengetahuan satu dengan yang lain berbeda-beda, tergantung pada kemampuannya dalam menalar. Dalam pembelajaran matematika, kemampuan penalaran merupakan salah satu kompetensi yang menjadi tujuan. Perbedaan penalaran seseorang dapat dilihat dari kemampuan siswa dalam memecahkan masalah non-rutin. Hasil observasi awal, terlihat bahwa siswa masih cenderung menyelesaikan masalah berdasarkan contoh solusi yang diberikan oleh guru, ketika diberikan masalah yang menuntut pengembangan ide, siswa mengalami kesulitan. Lemahnya siswa dalam mengembangkan ide dapat terjadi karena kurangnya pelatihan yang diberikan kepada siswa dalam mengembangkan kemampuan penalaran terhadap materi yang dipelajari. Oleh karena itu tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat perbedaan kedua model pembelajaran ditinjau dari kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan memberikan perlakuan yang berbeda terhadap dua kelompok sampel penelitian. Data yang dikumpulkan terdiri atas dua data, yaitu data hasil pretes kemampuan penalaran yang kemudian dijadikan dasar penggolongan siswa berupa kemampuan awal matematika serta data hasil postes kemampuan penalaran yang akan digunakan untuk melihat perbedaan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa. Adapun analisis data yang dilakukan menggunakan ANAVA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan tingkat kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa tetapi tidak terdapat interaksi antara kemampuan awal matematis siswa melalui model-model kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa.

Abstract

Educational demands on a person's ability in the field of mathematics are not enough just to have the ability to count, but also to have the ability to think logically, systematically and critically in an effort to develop mathematical problem solving abilities. To be able to find a solution to a problem, it is very important for students to be able to dig up information from various sources and various forms of information and interpret it using logical, systematic, and critical mathematical thinking skills, which are then known as mathematical literacy skills. The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of mathematical literacy in management study program students at the Panca Budi Development University in Medan. This research is part of a type of qualitative research with the approach used in this study a descriptive approach with a sample of 30 students who were selected randomly. The instrument used is a test of mathematical literacy skills in basic mathematics courses. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis of the data collected. Based on the research results obtained, it can be concluded that the mathematical literacy skills of the management study program students at the Panca Budi Brada Development University are in the sufficient category with the dominant mathematical literacy ability being at a moderate level with a percentage of 43.34%.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of job design, leadership, and motivation on the performance of service and technical officers at PT. Razza Prima Transformer who works at PT. PLN Medan. Job design is concerned with the way tasks are defined, organized, and mapped out in the work performed. Leadership focuses on the leadership style applied by managers or supervisors in organizations. Motivation involves factors that drive individuals to achieve goals and improve their performance. The research method used is a survey using questionnaires as a data collection instrument. The sample of this study consisted of service and technical officers at PT. Razza Prima Transformer who works at PT. PLN Medan. The collected data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis techniques. The population in this study was all Yantek officers totaling 110 people, while the sample of the population was 86 people. Data analysis techniques in this study use Data Quality Test, Classical Assumption Test, Multiple Linear Regression, and Hypothesis Test. Data processing in this study used SPSS software program version 25. It is partially known that job design, leadership, and motivation each have a positive and significant influence on the performance of Yantek officers at PT. Razza Prima Transformer Medan.
