Abstract

This journal is the result of research with a policy research flow that aims to describe and understand the Role of Baitussalam Modern Boarding School in Strengthening the Value of Islamic Aqidah of Naga Jaya Village Community I Bandar Huluan Subdistrict, using qualitative research methods. The purpose of this study is to find out how the role of Pondok Pesantren Baitussalam in strengthening the value of Islamic Aqidah in Naga Jaya Village Community 1 district of Bandar Huluan. This type of research is field research conducted using observation methods and direct interviews to the target object, namely by conducting interviews to the caregivers of Baitussalam Modern Boarding School and community residents in Naga Jaya Village 1 Bandar Huluan District simalungun which is considered to have an important role in providing information to get sources and materials that are the object of research, that is to know the nature of Aqidah's development of the community around Pondok Pesantren Modern Baitussalam. The results showed that the role of Pondok Pesantren Modern Baitussalam, has a fairly good role in strengthening the value of Islamic Aqidah community of Naga Jaya village 1 district of Bandar Huluan.  What is known from the caretaker of baitussalam boarding school since its establishment in 1864 until now teaches the value of aqidah, until now also the community has carried out the studies and celebrations of Islamic holidays. The caretaker of Baitussalam boarding school is also very intense in forming understandings or teachings that are considered khurafat in sharia or purification of Islam.

Abstract

Trust in Allah (tawakal) is an Islamic principle that emphasizes the balance between making maximum effort and surrendering the final outcome to Allah. The understanding of tawakal is believed to influence the work ethic of Muslims in carrying out economic activities, particularly among traditional traders who face various challenges in their daily business activities. This study aims to analyze Muslim traditional traders' understanding of tawakal, describe their work ethic, and examine the relationship between the understanding of tawakal and the work ethic of Muslim traditional traders in Neighborhood XV, Simpang Selayang Village, Medan Tuntungan District, Medan City. This study employed a qualitative field research design with a phenomenological approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that most traders understand tawakal as surrendering the results of their efforts to Allah after striving optimally. This understanding contributes to a positive work ethic characterized by discipline, responsibility, honesty, patience, and enthusiasm at work. The study highlights that tawakal plays an important role in shaping Muslim traders' attitudes and behaviors in conducting economic activities.

Abstract

The rising phenomenon of the hijrah movement among Muslim youth is a response to the challenges posed by modern culture, which tends to be secular and permissive. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Living Qur’an concept in shaping Islamic behavior and lifestyle among members of the Berani Hijrah Community in Tanjung Morawa A Village, Deli Serdang Regency. A qualitative approach was employed, using field research methods and the Living Qur’an framework to understand how Qur’anic teachings are internalized in daily life. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that the internalization of Qur’anic values occurs through regular study sessions, mentoring, communal tadarus, social activities, and digital dakwah. Challenges faced by the community include fluctuating member enthusiasm, limited funding, and negative influences from the environment and social media. Nevertheless, the exemplary leadership of community organizers and support from local figures play a crucial role in sustaining the movement. The study demonstrates that the Berani Hijrah Community effectively fosters youth who are more religious, respectful, mature in thought, and committed to a modest and positive lifestyle. This research contributes to strengthening youth transformation movements grounded in Qur’anic values in the modern era.

Abstract

Literature and philosophy are like two sides of a coin that cannot be separated from each other. There is even a reciprocal relationship between literature and philosophy. It can be proven that the birth of a literary work is the author's philosophical reflection on the reality he faces. raises various problems related to mental health and the stigma that still exists in society and the research problem that will be identified in this thesis is the concept of freedom in the novel "Pasung Jiwa" by Okky Madasari with an analysis of Soren Kierkegaard's existentialist philosophy. The research objective was set to examine the concept of freedom in literature, Kierkegaard's thoughts about human existence, freedom, personal responsibility, and the meaning of life, as well as the relationship between the concept of freedom in literature and Kierkegaard's thought. The research method used is a qualitative method with textual analysis. By using qualitative methods and textual analysis, this research is expected to provide a comprehensive understanding of the concept of freedom in the novel and its relevance to Soren Kierkegaard's existentialist thought. It is hoped that the results of this research will provide a deeper understanding of the concept of freedom in literature and the contribution of Kierkegaard's thought to the writing and interpretation of literary work.
