Abstract

Abstract

Anemia is the presence of malaria infection during pregnancy. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between malaria infection and the incidence of anemia in pregnant women using Riskesdas data in 2018. The design of this study used a cross-sectional design with the number of samples that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria in this study as many as 390 respondents. Bivariate data analysis using chi-square test and multivariate risk factor model using multiple logistic regression. Univariate results showed that 38.8% of pregnant women in Indonesia had anemia. The bivariate results of this study showed a significant relationship between malaria infection (p-value; 0.015), maternal age (p-value ; 0.046), nutritional status (p-value ; 0.005), gestational age (trimester 3 (p-value ; 0.001), 2nd trimester (p-value ; 0.005), blood tablet compliance (p-value ; 0.142), educational status (p-value ; 0.466), employment status (0.006), residence status (p-value ; 0.719 ) with the incidence of anemia in pregnant women in Indonesia based on Riskesdas data in 2018. The results of multivariate analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between malaria infection and the incidence of anemia in pregnant women after controlling for age, nutritional status, and gestational age (PR: 4.065 95%CI (1,310 -12,616). Pregnant women are expected to consume a balanced nutritious diet that is high in protein and iron from both animal (heme) and plant/vegetable (non-heme) sources, conduct ANC visits at least 4 times during pregnancy as an effort early detection of incidents ian anemia and other diseases.

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is the most commonly determined endocrine disease. This disease is a metabolic disorder that is genetically and clinically heterogeneous with manifestations in the form of loss of carbohydrate tolerance, this heterogeneous disorder is characterized by increased levels of glucose (blood sugar) in the blood or hyperglycemia. Decreased physical activity causes a decrease in muscle mass and an increase in fat mass so that it This will have an impact on the body's own basal metabolism. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving physical activity activity to increasing basal metabolism rate in patients with diabetes mellitus at the NamohaluEsiwa Public Health Center, NiasUrata Regency. This type of research used a quasi-experimental design. ), the sample was taken using the total population technique, namely all populations, namely all populations were used as a sample of 10 people. It was carried out from 03-31 July 2017. The research instrument was in the form of SOP for movement activities. Data analysis was used with an independent t test. The results of the study showed that there was an effect of giving movement activity to the basal metabolic rate value in NIDDM patients at the NamohaluEsiwa Public Health Center, North Nias Regency. The average BMR is 8.77%, on the effect of giving movement activity to the basal metabolic rate value in NIDDM. Therefore, improving service facilities for NIDDM sufferers, especially in physiotherapy problems on movement activity.

Abstract

One of the specific nutrition interventions and efforts to overcome nutritional problems is by applying the behavior of Kadarzi (nutrition conscious family). Kadarzi is a program that has been implemented in Indonesia since 2007 until now. Based on nutrition development activities in North Sumatra in 2015, several indicators of Kadarzi were obtained, namely toddlers weighed 74.2% and a target of 80%, exclusive breastfeeding 57% of the 80% target, the use of iodized salt by 79.6% of the 90% target and the provision of nutritional supplements by 90.5% from the target of 90%. The type of research used is a quantitative study with a cross sectional research design, the sampling technique used is total sampling. The population in this study were all toddlers aged 6-59 months in the work area of the Lotu Health Center in 2019 as many as 147 toddlers. The study was conducted to determine the relationship between the application of nutrition-aware families and nutritional status. The results showed that the level of application of nutritionally aware families was good, there were 138 (94.2%) toddlers whose nutritional status was normal, from 9 respondents whose level of application of nutritionally aware families was less, there were 3 (2.1%) toddlers whose nutritional status was normal, and 6 toddlers whose nutritional status is not good. Based on statistical tests using the Chi Square test, the results showed that there was a significant relationship between the application of nutrition-aware families and the nutritional status of children under five with a p-value (0.001).

Abstract

Indonesia, especially West Papua, which is a malaria endemic area, is still facing malaria as a health problem. Malaria is one of the causes of death of pregnant women, children and toddlers which can reduce labor productivity. If not treated immediately, pregnant women who contract malaria can experience complications that affect the mother and the fetus in her womb. In endemic areas, malaria is often considered a common disease, causing differences in people's mindsets in seeking treatment for malaria. There has been no previous research in West Papua regarding knowledge and attitudes about malaria with the behavior of pregnant women to seek malaria treatment in pregnancy. The study was conducted in three PKM in Sorong Regency to 81 respondents with a cross sectional study design using consecutive sampling. The research instrument used is using a questionnaire. The results obtained are the proportion of self-medication behavior is low, the level of knowledge is moderate and the attitude is high in pregnant women. However, the results of the analysis test were found to be insignificant between the level of knowledge and behavior of selfmedication and the level of attitudes and behavior (p>0.05). However, good knowledge and attitude can prevent pregnant women from self-medication. There is no relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes with self-medication behavior. Increased knowledge of malaria can be done to help pregnant women better understand malaria, and malaria screening for pregnant women is carried out more actively to prevent pregnant women from self-medication.
