Abstract

Workload is a task used to measure an employee's activity and achievement, while work fatigue also often occurs in employees who are commonly referred to as high-touch jobs that involve a lot of face-to-face. In occupational health and safety (K3), namely ensuring the health and safety of employees who are working and preventing unwanted work accidents. This literature review is to find out about the effect of workload and fatigue on occupational health and safety in employees. In this study, an analysis or approach was carried out by means of a literature review. By searching for various relevant sources using the observation method through the Google Scholar, PubMed, and Garuda platforms. Then in the search criteria for this journal there are two types of access, namely inclusion and exclusion, in this literature review using the mixed case control or cross-sectional method. The results of the journal obtained 13 articles explaining that the effect of workload and fatigue on occupational health and safety has significant results or has an effect on employees. The effect of workload and fatigue provides significant results on occupational health and safety (K3) in employees, so this study will provide further intervention to find out how many employees experience accidents due to large workloads and the resulting fatigue.

Abstract

The construction industry is inherently high-risk, making Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) a critical priority. This study evaluates the implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) in the renovation project of Grand Inna Malioboro Hotel, located in a densely populated tourism area of Yogyakarta City. The project’s urban setting introduces additional challenges in ensuring safety for both workers and the surrounding public. A qualitative descriptive approach with a case study method was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with project stakeholders, direct field observations, and a review of project documents including the Safety Plan (RK3K), incident reports, and training attendance records. The collected data were analyzed using the SWOT framework (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats). Findings indicate that while OHSMS documentation and personnel are in place, the on-site implementation is inconsistent. Strengths include management support, the presence of a safety officer, and regular briefings. However, weaknesses persist, such as incomplete safety training, weak subcontractor oversight, and inadequate incident reporting. The project has opportunities for improvement through regulatory support and public visibility, but also faces threats due to its location in a high-traffic urban area. This study concludes that while the OHSMS has been formally adopted, its practical implementation needs enhancement through better training, consistent supervision, and broader stakeholder involvement. Regular evaluation and integrated safety strategies are essential to strengthening safety culture in similar renovation projects, particularly those in complex urban environments.

Abstract

Musculoskeletal complaints are one of the many complaints that often arise and are related to ergonomic problems. These complaints are caused or worsened by work activities and conditions, such as lifting movements, repetitive movements, unnatural postures, pushing or pulling movements, static work and working in confined areas. According to data from the 2018 Labor Force Survey (LFS), it shows that the prevalence rate of musculoskeletal disorders in workers is very high, namely 1,144,000 cases with a distribution of cases affecting the back of 493,000 cases, the upper limbs or neck 426,000 cases , and the lower limbs. under 224,000 cases. The aim of this research is to find out and identify risk factors that cause musculoskeletal complaints in furniture workers. The research method was carried out using a literature review. The literature search was carried out online, namely via Google Scholar and the Garuda Portal, resulting in 4 national articles. Data processing is carried out by identification, filtering, inclusion and eligibility based on article findings which are then analyzed. The data used is secondary data whose sources are obtained from scientific articles/journals, books, documents and laws. The risk factors that cause complaints of musculoskeletal disorders in furniture workers have several risk factors which are divided into two, namely individual factors and work factors. Individual factors include age, length of service, BMI, and smoking habits. Meanwhile, work factors include work posture and work attitude. The risk factors that cause serious musculoskeletal complaints are age, length of service and work posture.
