Abstract

Abstract

Information sharing in supply chain has emerged as one critical factor in maintaining company's responssiveness. This ability is needed to overcome both the supplier and customer requirements in sharing their data to accomplish their operational routines. A lot of efforts have been devoted in such research area including XML (eXtensible Markup Language) technology. However, a stepwise approach on how to utilize this advance technology is still lacking. This paper proposed a lightweight approach to implement XML in information sharing firmly. The main XML characteristics will be exploited so that the advantages of utilizing this mark up language may be highlighted. Based on these important remarks a lightweight approach of implementing XML is possible to be composed. The expected outcome is a step-by-step guidance for data exchanger to utilize XML simply but precisely and accurately. A case study of information sharing in commerce is elaborated to enhance our understanding on how to implement this approach in real domain problem.

Abstract

Dual-Channel Supply Chain (DCSC) is a mixed structure which simultaneously utilizes both offline and online channel to distribute one particular product or service. This structure provides market reach extension in which eventually leads to revenue increase. Whatsoever, aside of this advantage, DCSC also brings some challenging problems. One prominent problem is of about between-channel pricing-problem. In its practice, DCSC actors often apply intuitive offline and online pricing without further analytical evaluation. Yet there is no representative mechanism to address this critical problem. This paper attempts to resolute this challenge by proposing a qualitative estimation mechanism on customer acceptance on online channel relative to offline one. This proposed approach is about to utilize an interplay relationship between offline and online prices. The main parameter to consider is a ratio of customer acceptance parameters. These parameters are elicited from 3 groups of products which are sold under DCSC structure in Indonesian cases to exhibit the different properties in each product group. Numerical experiment result shows that the utilization of this pricing mechanism may increase the financial performance of DCSC under observation.

Abstract

Investments in pension funds consist of government bonds, deposits, bonds, shares, mutual funds, and other investments. Pension funds consist of the Employer Pension Fund (EPF) and the Financial Institution Pension Fund (FIPF). The problem with FIPF is that participants choose investments at the beginning of membership and changes to investment and retirement, so there is a need for research regarding investment placement in FIPF because the average percentage growth in FIPF investments and the average percentage increase in FIPF net worth throughout the 2015–2021 period are the highest. Maximum portfolio placement for each investment, namely government bonds, deposits, bonds, shares, mutual funds, and other investments, which are a combination of independent variables, is the solution for the performance of investment managers at FIPF. In addition, the response variable maximizes the return value and minimizes the standard deviation or risk value to support maximum investment results and determines the maximum portfolio placement of each investment, namely government bonds, deposits, bonds, shares, mutual funds, and other investments, which are free combinations. In the experiment, it is hoped that it can provide alternative literature for investment managers. Apart from knowing the optimal composition of investment placements in FIPF, it is used as a reference for selecting investment packages and for FIPF participants at the start of selecting an investment package and when changing investment packages. The RSM (Response Surface Methodology) method can provide maximum portfolio placement results from each investment: government bonds, bank deposits, corporate bonds, shares, mutual funds, and other investments. Apart from that, the author chose the RSM method because its function is to find out the combination of independent variables to get optimal results, either maximum or minimum, and with an experimental design using several factorial designs that dominate the middle value and points with output in the form of independent variable values and optimal responses previously unknown. The result of this writing is that the maximum return value is 597.294, with the free variable value being the maximization of the return value that supports the maximum return value, such as government bonds = 22.45, deposits = 61.14, bonds = 14.18, shares = 12.76, mutual funds = 5.92, and other investments = 0.46. Based on placement investment and the value of maximization results obtained in the RSM method, which has almost the same results as real data, it proves that the RSM method can confirm the performance behavior of investment managers in FIPF. On the other hand, with the free variable value, the maximum return value is 570.83 and a minimum standard deviation value of 112.38, which is the maximization of the return value, which supports the maximum return value, such as government bonds = 22.45, deposits = 61.14, bonds = 3.49, shares = 2.48, mutual funds = 2.91, and other investments = 0.18. Based on the order and value of the maximization results obtained in the RSM method, the results are almost the same as real data, but by minimizing the standard deviation (risk) value, the percentage of investment placement changes where the placement of bonds, shares, and mutual funds is transferred to deposits and government bonds. This proves that the influence of the minimal standard deviation of the RSM method produces confirmation that is slightly contradictory to the behavior of FIPF investment managers. By using the RSM method in optimizing pension fund investment placement by maximizing the independent variable, the return value reflects the behavior of FIPF pension fund investment managers in half the placement percentage, but in optimizing pension fund investment placement with response variables, maximizing the return value and minimizing the standard deviation (risk) value change the investment placement percentage. By minimizing standard deviation (risk), placements in bonds, shares, and mutual funds are shifted to safe or risk-free assets, namely government bonds and deposits, with the data used from 2015 to 2021 before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. 19, so this research can be used as literature during a crisis, but it is not appropriate to use it during normal conditions

Abstract

The acceleration of PLN’s cash-in performance is significantly influenced by customers’ early payment behavior. Therefore, PLN requires a solution to shift the payment pattern of customers who frequently delay payments into making timely payments before the due date. One of the main causes of payment delays is the limited availability of payment counters, as well as customers forgetting to pay their electricity bills. This study analyzes customer electricity payment patterns over a six-month period at PLN ULP X, which is part of PLN UP3 XYZ. The analysis revealed that 7.87% of customers are recurring late payers, dispersed across various locations. To address this issue, a preventive collection strategy is required to reduce the occurrence of late payments. However, the implementation of preventive collection faces time constraints, as billman officers have limited availability due to other responsibilities. Thus, a supporting tool in the form of route planning is needed to minimize travel distance. In designing the collection route, the Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) model is applied using geographic mapping through QGIS and optimized with the Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) algorithm. QGIS is used to map the distribution of late-paying customers based on geographic conditions. The study results show that the ACO algorithm successfully reduced the total travel distance to 1,022 km, compared to the existing condition of 4,300 km, resulting in a distance saving of 3,278 km (76.23%).

Abstract

This study discusses the inventory of consumable parts at an aircraft maintenance company in Bandung. The problem that occurs is that companies often face stock shortages. Another issue is that the warehouse has excess stock of materials that have an expiration date, which is financially detrimental to the company. To overcome this, the study categorizes materials using the ABC and ADI CV2 analysis methods. After obtaining the demand patterns including smooth demand, intermittent demand, erratic demand, and lumpy demand forecasting is carried out according to the demand pattern using Exponential Smoothing, Croston, Syntetos Boylan Approximation, and Teunter Syntetos Babai. The data used is PT XYZ consumable part data from January 2022 to December 2023. After analysis and testing the level of forecast accuracy using MAD, MSE, and MAPE, the results showed that the Croston, SBA, and TSB forecasting methods each offer their own advantages based on the specific characteristics of the demand pattern applied.

Abstract

In recent years, the concept of smart cities and infrastructure has gained momentum as a solution to challenges such as population growth, resource management, and environmental sustainability. Rapid urbanization in many developing countries highlights the need for efficient infrastructure planning and management. This framework offers a structured approach for decision-making and resource allocation, enabling prioritization of investments to maximize limited resources while supporting development goals. The framework is tested through an analysis of the Smart Street Lighting Systems (SSLS) in Surabaya, Indonesia, addressing the city's intention to upgrade street lighting to reduce maintenance costs and energy consumption. Currently, the street lighting system faces issues including a high rate of broken or damaged lights and inefficiencies in handling complaints. However, limited funding and varied regional needs constrain any comprehensive upgrade. The proposed framework integrates the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) to prioritize regions as weighting inputs, Mixed Integer Goal Programming (MIGP) to optimize the distribution of SSLS and conventional LED lighting across regions, and Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA) to evaluate financial feasibility. Results recommend purchasing 11,915 new SSLS units with region-specific distributions, achieving a financially viable Benefit-Cost Ratio (BCR) of 2.059. These findings demonstrate practical implementation of smart city principles, balancing cost-efficiency, service performance, and stakeholder priorities. Policymakers can use this framework to maximize impact within budget constraints. This framework serves as a viable template for other regions and countries embarking on smart city infrastructure implementation.
