Abstract

This research discusses intercultural public speaking ethics, which is a combination of public speaking ethics and intercultural communication ethics. The method used in this research is the library research method, in which researchers conduct research only on library collection materials related to intercultural public speaking ethics. The research results show that a public speaker is not only required to understand public speaking ethics but is also required to understand intercultural communication ethics so that public speakers can apply intercultural public speaking ethics. By applying intercultural public speaking ethics, public speaking with audiences of people from different cultural backgrounds can be effective. To apply intercultural public speaking ethics, public speakers must first learn the culture of their audience by first seeking information regarding what ethics are deemed permissible and not permissible. After studying the cultural ethics of the audience, the public speaker must enter that culture as if the public speaker is part of the members of that culture without leaving the public speaker's own cultural identity.

Abstract

This study examines the persuasive communication strategies employed by the organizers of the "Kurban sampai Pelosok (Qurban to the Remote Areas) "program, initiated by the Zakat Collection Unit (UPZ) at Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta. The research was motivated by the consistent yearly increase in the number of sohibul qurban (qurban donors), which has continuously surpassed the program's target. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with program coordinators and direct observations at the UPZ UNS office. The findings reveal that the program's success is closely tied to the effectiveness of persuasive communication strategies. These include: (1) rebranding the tagline from “Kurban dari Kampus (Qurban from Campus)” to “Kurban sampai Pelosok (Qurban to the Remote Areas)”; (2) crafting diverse and creative message content; and (3) disseminating information consistently across various social media platforms and official UPZ UNS channels.

A total of 192 students participated in this research, both those who were working and those who were not working. Abstract

Parate execution is a mechanism of direct enforcement without prior judicial proceedings, as regulated under Article 6 of Law No. 4 of 1996 concerning Mortgage Rights. However, this mechanism often conflicts with Article 224 HIR/258 R.Bg, which requires execution through court execution by court fiat. This study examines the constitutionality of Article 6 in relation to Article 224 HIR/258 R.Bg, using Central Jakarta Religious Court Decision No. 950/Pdt.G/2019/PA.JP as the primary case study. It also analyses the concept of justice in Islamic law and Jeremy Bentham’s theory of legal utility. The findings reveal a normative conflict that creates legal uncertainty and undermines substantive justice, particularly in Sharia-based financing. Harmonisation between statutory law and Islamic legal principles is therefore necessary to achieve legal certainty and substantive justice.
