Abstract

This research entitled “The Manifestation of Hegemonic Masculinity in The Characters of Santa Monica Studio’s God of War (2018)” aims to figure out how hegemonic masculinity is manifested in the characters of the video game God of War (2018). The primary data is Santa Monica Studio's God of War which was observed with qualitative method. Moreover, the researcher used Connell’s theory of hegemonic masculinity to analyze the traits of hegemonic masculinity through the characters. This research also uses characterization to further examine the characters’ physical attributes and behavior in investigating their masculinities. The findings of this research indicate that hegemonic masculinity is represented through the characters of Kratos, Atreus, Brok, and Sindri. Using the above theories, the researcher found that those characters’ dialogues, actions, and behavior demonstrate hegemonic masculinity. Another important finding is that each character who performs less hegemonic can still show their hegemony through their actions and speeches. It is also discovered, to an extent that the personalities and the degree of hegemonic masculinity of the characters stem from their respective backgrounds

Abstract

Abstract The aims of this research are to reveal the meaning of “men” inside the text of the Declaration of Independence and to explain the hermeneutics perspective inside the meaning of the text. This research is based on descriptive qualitative analysis. The writer describes the facts of American Women demonstrating their movement in struggling their rights through American Congress found in the primary sources. In doing this, the writer uses hermeneutic as a tool to analyze the texts. The result of this research is to prove that gender problems related to language. It can be seen that in 1920 American women really started their independence after 144 years America had its independence from the tyranny of Great Britain. Abstract

This study aims to describe the social function of the Serat Manyuri Javanese manuscript for the Kejawen Kasepuhan Kalitanjung community in Tambaknegara, Rawalo, Banyumas Regency. This research is categorized as qualitative research. Data were collected through library research and interviews. The data were then analyzed using traditional philological methods, including determining the research focus, manuscript inventory, preliminary observation, and manuscript transcription. Based on the conducted research, several conclusions can be drawn. The moral values in the Serat Manyuri Javanese Manuscript remain relevant to the Kejawen Kasepuhan Kalitanjung community, who are the cultural custodians of this tradition. The traditions practiced by the Kejawen Kasepuhan Kalitanjung community that are related to the use of the Serat Manyuri include: 1) Selametan Kematian Telung Dina lan Pitung Dina Traditions ; 2) Selametan Matang Puluh Dina lan Nyatus Tradition; and 3) Selamten Mendhak Pisan, Pindho, lan Nyewu Traditions. The Serat Manyuri is one of the ancient Javanese manuscripts found in Banyumas, containing numerous moral values that continue to be utilized by the community as a medium in the implementation of traditional ceremonies.
