Abstract

Gabungan Kelompok Tani dan Hutan (Gapoktanhut) Lestari Sejahtera, Pekon Sedayu, Kecamatan Semaka, Kabupaten Tanggamus, Provinsi Lampung telah diberikan izin Perhutanan Sosial untuk rencana pengelolaan yang berkelanjutan. Secara kolektif Gapoktanhut Lestari Sejahtera dapat melakukan pengelolaan, pengembangan dan pemanfaatan hutan, dengan kewajiban tata kelola kawasan untuk melindungi keanekaragaman hayati. Tantangan yang dihadapi adalah pemahaman nilai keanekaragaman hayati dan sumber daya yang terbatas. Universitas Lampung bersama dengan Rainforest Alliance and KPH Kotaagung Utara, melakukan pendampingan inisiasi tata kelola kawasan Gapoktanhut Lestari Sejahtera untuk penggalian potensi alam dan meningkatkan kemampuan kelola gapoktanhut melalui diskusi kelompok dan survei penelusuran cepat keanekaragaman hayati partisipatif. Pelibatan gapoktanhut penting karena aktivitas petani bersinggungan dengan hutan lindung. Penelusuran cepat partisipatif tentang pengenalan GPS, Kobo Tool Box, tumbuhan dan hewan, secara langsung dan tidak langsung, pembuatan herbarium sangat bermanfaat sebagai dasar pendekatan untuk perlindungan, pengelolaan dan pemanfaatan berkelanjutan keanekaragaman hayati dan pada akhirnya untuk pengawetan habitat hidupan liar.

Abstract

Community-based rapid biodiversity assessment has been done initially with Gapoktanhut Lestari Sejahtera, a group of coffee farmers practises social forestry in protected forest, Sedayu, Semaka, Tanggamus, under supervision of KPH Kotaagung Utara, Tanggamus.   Its aim is to identify potential natural resources in Kotaagung Utara protected forest, Tanggamus, under Kaidenren Nature Conservation Fund, in collaboration with University of Lampung and Rainforest Alliance program. Direct survey and observation were done, kobotoolbox was applied to collect the biodiversity information, the direct and indirect data of plants, animals as well as landscapes.  Of 480 data input has been done by transect line from November, 2021 to February, 2022 covering 15 observed areas.  The data consists of direct and indirect data of plants, animals as well as landscapes. The finding done is by local names included plants (n=78) mostly understory plant species, orchids, and ferns, small animals (n=40) include amphibians, reptiles, birds, and arthropods, indirect signs (n=11) of food remains, footprints, voices, scraps, wallowing ponds, scratches, nests, insects body remains, eggs and animals’ trail, some fungi, and landscapes. The findings shows that local community is potential citizen research resources, supporting social forestry practice and the initial building of Kota Agung Utara Forest Management Unit database

Abstract

A training session on Edu-agrotourism financial governance was conducted for KWT Bina Pertani, a farmer women's group in Kampung Liman Benawi, Trimurjo, Central Lampung, on January 26, 2024. The primary objective of this fundamental accounting and finance training was to enhance the understanding of financial management and the skills of KWT Bina Pertani members and village civil servants. The curriculum encompassed an overview of financial statements, rudimentary bookkeeping, the compilation of financial statements, and strategies for crop pricing. The training objectives were achieved through coordination, agreement, training materials and equipment preparation, and activities and evaluations. The training was delivered face-to-face with direct practice, and the participants enthusiastically received it. The training session yielded positive outcomes, with successful material delivery and achievement of the activity objectives.

Abstract

Under the HETI Project Program of Universitas Lampung 2023/2024, education and introduction to bats have been conducted in Braja Harjosari and Labuhan Ratu VII, East Lampung. Knowledge about bats and their ecological roles is essential as a conservation effort, particularly in residential areas adjacent to natural bat habitats. Information on bats, including their natural habitats, behaviors, and roles in supporting human life, as well as general species identification, was provided. The selection of locations, mist net installation, capture, handling, and release were demonstrated, including oral swab sample collection. The community’s response and enthusiasm were very positive in understanding bats as wildlife and their roles in human life.
