Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in reading interest of students with an intellectual disability after carrying out a 15-minute reading movement and the role of parents in helping their children during the Covid-19 pandemic. The method used in this research is a case study method for two students with intellectual disabilities. The results of this study are students with intellectual disabilities become enthusiastic to read and have a high interest in reading. From these results, we get differences in the results of the pre-test and post-test. This is because students get interesting reading and support from their parents. Indeed, this movement has an impact on the reading interest of every student with intellectual disability.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' interest in foreign languages such as German or Japanese. Descriptive qualitative research method. The data collection technique used descriptive qualitative and gave some reading texts to the children. The results of the study showed that the relationship between students to foreign languages other than the language that was introduced was very high, and they increasingly wanted to learn the foreign language even though they could not pronounce foreign vocabulary correctly, the foreign language contained in the Indonesian text did not make them stop reading or reading.

Abstract

Japanese is one of the most popular languages after English. Its culture that captivates people's hearts, makes interest in the language increase, both from children and adults. Until now, learning Japanese has become the program of choice at the high school level to universities. This study aims to analyze the interest of junior high school students in Japanese. Descriptive qualitative research method. The data collection technique used qualitative descriptive and provided some introductory vocabulary, numbers, and some common Japanese vocabulary. The results showed that students' knowledge of basic Japanese when given the pretest was 66.67%. After students were given material in the form of power points about basic Japanese, students' knowledge increased by 70.37%. The conclusion obtained is that students already have sufficient knowledge of basic Japanese such as introductions, numbers, and basic vocabulary. It can be seen from the increase in the pre-test and post-test that has been given only an increase of 11%. In addition, it can be seen from the enthusiasm of students in interactive question and answer sessions during the learning process. It is hoped that this research can become a consideration regarding the choice of Japanese language programs up to junior high school level

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using instructional media in the form of animated videos on increasing learning motivation in junior high school students. This study used a quantitative research method with a correlative approach aimed at 10 students of grade 8 Junior High School Cikupa, Tangerang Indonesia. The data collection method was carried out by distributing questionnaires, post-tests, and pre-tests, analyzing, and describing the results. The results showed that previously students had not been able to absorb civic education material well because of the monotonous learning method. With the presentation of material with animated videos about norms and justice, it is seen that there is an increase in learning motivation which of course has an impact on learning outcomes by 7.59%.

Abstract

Art learning activities in schools are learning that must be done in practice, but currently many art educators do not provide maximum learning for students, and free students to be creative without giving directions. So that in this study it is hoped that students can understand the importance of art practice to develop students' creativity and explore the potential in students. In addition, this study aims to provide insight to junior high school students to understand that the application of an alum fixator in the process of making eco print batik can provide a new experience in the practice of fine arts at school. The method used is using quantitative methods by making 2 sessions of distributing questions, namely pretest and posttest after distributing the material delivered through PowerPoint and videos of the eco print batik making process which are analyzed in the form of statistical diagram tables. The results of the study produced a fairly good impact on the learning process, almost the entire sample of students who joined this study understood it well and wanted to apply it one day.

Abstract

Reading ability is a skill to gain knowledge and insight that will increase intelligence. At the elementary school level, it is still quite difficult to foster interest in reading, so that learning media is needed that can support teaching and learning activities. Thus, the purpose of this study was to determine the level of reading ability and understanding of elementary school students about the introduction of nutrients in carrots and the effect of using mind mapping on the learning process. The research method used is quantitative with data collection techniques through pre-test and post-test activities. The sample in this study amounted to 10 fifth-grade elementary school students. Based on the results of the pre-test and post-test activities on the introduction of the nutritional content of carrots using mind mapping, it showed a significant increase in students' reading and understanding abilities with an average increase of 74%. This shows that mind mapping can make the learning process fun and make students pay more attention. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the use of mind mapping can help elementary students in improving their reading skills and understanding the relevant nutritional content of carrots.

Abstract

Busana kreasi dibuat sebagai hasil daya cipta, khayalan atau angan-angan, gagasan, ide, atau inspirasi seseorang serta dibuat dari bahan-bahan yang tidak lazim untuk dipergunakan dalam pembuatan busana. Penelitian ini membahas tentang mengadaptasi salah satu tokoh film fantasi sebagai sumber ide untuk di realisasikan sebagai busana kreasi, salah satunya film Raya And The Last Dragon dengan tokoh Jagan. Jagan digambarkan sebagai naga air dengan bulu berwarna ungu dari lima bersaudara. Jagan memiliki sihir dalam menciptakan kabut tebal sehingga mustahil untuk dilihat. Pengambilan tema didasarkan adanya pemikiran untuk mengadaptasi tokoh pada film fantasi. Didapatkan hasil adaptasi dengan penggunaan bahan sequin seribu payet, bahan long fur korea, model mermaid skirt, tile mutiara dan furing ungu, serta dakron. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan Penelitian dan Pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan model pengembangan ADDIE. Hasil pengadaptasian tokoh pada sebuah film fantasi menjadi busana kreasi diharapkan dapat menciptakan visual baru yang khas dan berbeda.

Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, learning loss is vulnerable to occur in early grade students, as well as what happens to learning basic skills in Calistung. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of e-learning during the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia using Zoom Cloud Video Meeting. The approach that we used in this study is quantitative, which is the type of research designed with a pretest-posttest control group. The results showed that the average effectiveness of the students in elementary school was categorized as still effective despite changes in learning time and the use of learning media. Students' understanding of the material for the Calistung learning can be improved by providing material via games or YouTube, which is done online by using the Zoom Cloud Meeting Video application with educators. The results of the research show that the average posttest score of students is 77.77%, greater than the average pretest score of 67.93%, so the difference is 9.84%. Therefore, Zoom Cloud Video Meeting can increase students' achievement in Calistung learning.

Abstract

This community service activity is a follow-up to the mentoring program of the Center of Excellence Vocational School implemented at Sukapura Tasikmalaya Vocational School. The knowledge and skills of fashion design teachers in digital design still need strengthening and development. This condition is one of the bases for implementing community service by lecturers of the Fashion Design Education Study Program, FPTI UPI. Based on these conditions, the proposed community service program based on expertise in the field of science aims to realize a follow-up program from the results of the mentoring of the SMK Pusat Keunggulan (SMK PK) fashion expertise carried out by Lecturers of the Fashion Design Education Study Program, FPTI UPI. The impact of this program is expected to increase the ability of teachers and students with fashion expertise at SMK PK Sukapura Tasikmalaya to design clothes digitally using the "Ibis Paint X" program. The method used in this community service is carried out by action research, through several steps, including: 1) Planning, at this stage, the team makes preparations starting from preparing proposals, searching for data, potential, problems and coordinating with SMK PK program targets related to the Agency and DUDIKA; 2) Implementation, at the implementation stage, Research, Action and Evaluation of training / mentoring results are carried out as material in the preparation of further Research and Action to realize SMK PK fashion expertise; 3) Monitoring is carried out during the training / mentoring process and after the activity is completed; 4) Evaluation; and 5) Follow-up. Through community service activities, it can be observed that there is an increase in the ability to design clothes digitally, especially with Ibis Paint X, for teachers and students at SMK Sukapura Tasikmalaya.   Abstrak Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini merupakan tindak lanjut dari program pendampingan SMK Pusat Keunggulan yang dilaksanakan di SMK Sukapura Tasikmalaya. Pengetahuan dan keterampilan Guru Tata Busana dalam mendesaian secara digital masih membutuhkan penguatan dan pengembangan. Kondisi ini merupakan salah satu dasar di dalam pelaksanaan pengabdian oleh dosen Prodi Pendidikan Tata Busana FPTI UPI. Berdasarkan kondisi tersebut, program pengabdian kepada masyarakat berbasis kepakaran bidang ilmu yang diusulkan ini bertujuan untuk mewujudkan program tindak lanjut dari hasil pendampingan SMK Pusat Keunggulan (SMK PK) keahlian busana yang dilakukan oleh Dosen program Prodi Pendidikan Tata Busana FPTI UPI. Dampak dari program ini diharapkan meningkatnya kemampuan guru dan peserta didik keahlian busana di SMK PK Sukapura Tasikmalaya dalam mendesain busana secara digital menggunakan program “ Ibis Paint X. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan kaji tindak atau action research, melalui beberapa langkah, di antaranya: 1) Perencanaan, pada tahap ini, tim melakukan persiapan mulai dari penyusunan proposal, mencari data, potensi, permasalahan dan koordinasi dengan SMK PK sasaran program Dinas terkait dan DUDIKA; 2) Pelaksanaan, Pada tahap pelaksanaan dilakukan Research, Action dan Evaluasi hasil pelatihan / pendampingan sebagai bahan di dalam penyusunan Research dan Action lanjutan untuk mewujudkan SMK PK keahlian busana; 3) Monitoring dilakukan selama proses pelaksanan pelatihan/pendampingan dan pasca kegiatan selesai; 4) Evaluasi; dan 5) Tindak lanjut. Melalui kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dapat diamati adanya peningkatan kemampuan mendesain busana secara digital khususnya dengan Ibis Paint X pada guru dan peserta didik di SMK Sukapura Tasikmalaya. Abstract

Chunky knitwear hadir sebagai tren fesyen yang menonjolkan struktur rajutan tebal, permainan warna kontras, dan siluet berukuran besar. Karakteristik tersebut diperlihatkan secara konsisten oleh desainer Hope Macaulay, yang dikenal dengan “giant handmade knits” berbahan merino wool jumbo. Popularitas karyanya menunjukkan bahwa chunky knitwear memiliki daya tarik visual sekaligus potensi sebagai medium eksplorasi artistik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi sumber ide, material, serta teknik finger knitting; merancang desain dan pola berdasarkan perhitungan loop; mewujudkan karya busana chunky knitwear dan menyajikannya melalui pameran Asia Fashion Show; serta melakukan evaluasi karya melalui penilaian ahli. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode penciptaan karya menurut Gustami yang dimodifikasi menjadi enam langkah, meliputi eksplorasi ide serta konsep, eksplorasi material dan teknik, perancangan desain, perancangan pola, perwujudan, dan evaluasi. Hasil penelitian berupa produk chunky knitwear terdiri dari atasan, rok, dan leg warmer, dengan konstruksi berbasis teknik finger knitting menggunakan material loopy wool serta detail hiasan pom-pom. Berdasarkan penilaian ahli, karya memperoleh rata-rata skor sebesar 81,57% dengan kategori sangat baik sehingga dinyatakan layak sebagai karya busana hasil penciptaan.
