Abstract

DIVo is one of media that share information for students in Petra Christian University. The current version of DIVo use television as media for sharing information, and later, DIVo 3.0 will use mobile unit and wall mount. DIVo 3.0 will be distributed in 39 place, 31 of those are mobile unit. This study was conducted to determine the suitable layout design for DIVo so the information provided in the mobile unit DIVo can be clearly understood by students.Literature study and experiments were done to determine the details that should be used for Divo 3.0. Design of experiments was used to determine factors which are affecting the clarity of information. Factorial design is used as experiment design method and location for experiment is in 2 area in P building that categorized in different luminance. The experiment results showed that zoning, time of display, and colour combination of running ticker affects the clarity of information significantly. The best combination that gives the best clarity of information is using 1 main content area and 1 running ticker area, displayed for 10 seconds. White font in black background running ticker with speed rate 60 words per minute make the running ticker can be read clearly.

Abstract

PT. X has already own Career Development System (CDS) as one of the guidelines for employees to develop in incumbent positions, but the use of CDS is not maximal, because CDS is too general and less describe about real job of the employee. Therefore, Career Development Tools (CDT) was invented, which is CDT has three outputs, development plan, evaluation form, and career path. As a first step, CDT is made for HR Department Personalia and Payroll. CDT helps employee to develop with guideline based on real job daily activities (development plan), helps evaluate employee (evaluation form), and provide general career lattice for employee (career path).

Abstract

PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia Balaraja (PT CPI Balaraja) is one of feed processing companies. PT CPI Balaraja had installed new SAP system, Production Online, and replaced its manual machines into automatics machines. Therefore, the old standard operating procedures are no longer suitable with the current situation. Updating those procedures are a must and this work became purpose of this thesis, particularly in Maintenance Department and Warehouse & PPIC Department. The updating procedures includes SOP (Standard Operational Procedures), WI (Work Instructions), and Forms. In overall, there are 7 SOP, 41 WI, and 12 Forms revision in Maintenance Department. Additionally, thera are 5 SOP, 33 WI, and 33 Forms revision in Warehouse & PPIC Department.

Abstract

PT X does not yet have the correct payrool system, so PT X wants to try to use the payrool system with job grading method. Job grading is a method for work grouping to determine the grade of a position based on the job description. Job grading method use several factors to evaluate position. These factors are know-how, area of responsibility, problem solving, and working condition. The result of job grading in PT X shows there are 4 levels: each level consisting of 2 sub levels. The result can be used in HR Department to determine employee salaries in PTX. There are 2 positions that are not in accordance with the name the of existing position. Both of these positions are head engineering and head of sales and marketing. Based on the level of difficulty of the work, both positions are equivalent to managerial level.

Abstract

PT Y merupakan salah satu perusahaan yang memproduksi keramik. PT Y memiliki target yaitu 100% untuk kualitas A pada keramik lantai berjenis Murano tetapi hasil produksi yang telah dicapai rata-rata hanya mencapai 93% dengan nilai sigma quality level sebesar 3,523 sehingga masih jauh untuk mencapai nilai tingkat sigma tertinggi yaitu 6 sigma. Upaya peningkatan kualitas dilakukan dengan mengikuti fase DMAIC serta menggunakan pareto chart dan fishbone diagram untuk menganalisa akar  dan peyebab masalah. Hasil analisa menunjukkan terdapat tiga kecacatan utama pada lantai produksi yaitu gupil, retak, dan perubahan ukuran. Faktor yang mempengaruhi terjadinya kecacatan adalah man, machine, dan material. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan adalah dengan memberikan penyuluhan, instruksi kerja, form pengecekan kepada pekerja, dan membuat rancangan quality plan.

Abstract

“X” Corporation always improve the quality and performance of all employees with provide training program. Training program that implemented at “X” Corporation based by Best Training Practice (BTP) method. One of the tools that are used in training is training module. Training modules must comply with criteria, that is have a cover, revision sheets, table of contents, objectives, programs, criteria, lesson plan, knowledge about operating a production process, and headers and footers that have been set by the company. Training module at Printing Processing, a total of six training modules are made and nine training modules are improved. Create and revision training module for Printing Processing that based by Best Training Practice (BTP) method be expected to support the training to attain an effective and efficient training.

Abstract

PT. X merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang pembuatan keramik. Target kualitas keramik yang diharapkan PT. X adalah 95% pada produk kualitas A, namun saat ini pengendalian kualitas di lapangan hanya mencapai 92,8%. Peningkatan target kualitas A dapat ditingkatkan dengan mengevaluasi apakah pelaksanaan sistem pengendalian kualitas telah dilakukan dengan benar. Upaya yang dilakukan dalam pencapaian target produk kualitas A adalah dengan cara memperhatikan faktor – faktor yang berpengaruh di setiap proses produksi seperti kondisi mesin, penyetelan temperatur, dan ketepatan waktu proses. Inspeksi sampel dilakukan dengan membandingkan standar pengendalian kualitas yang dimiliki oleh perusahaan dengan fakta yang terjadi di lantai produksi. Hasil dari penelitian adalah dengan membuat sistem pengendalian proses yang menitik beratkan pada tahap – tahap produksi di setiap mesin, serta diberikan usulan perbaikan terhadap pengambilan sampel pada setiap inspeksi yang dilakukan. Perbaikan sampel dilakukan dengan mengubah waktu, jumlah dan kriteria penolakan sampel.

Abstract

PT X is a company which is focused on bag and plastic production. The high percentage of rework which is about 25.5% is one of the problems in this company. The purpose of this research is to decrease the rework percentage in PT X Company by using DMAIC method (Define, Measure, Analysis, Improve and Control). There are three types of defects that often happen based on Pareto Diagram, which are not proportional shapes, less of needlework and over-needlework.  Fishbone Diagram is used to find the cause of defects which are human factors, method and machine. There are six ways to decrease the higher percentage of reworks such as, making operator evaluation form, making sewing pattern using chalk, making a layer to measure the shape of product, rechecking the product at the end of production process, making a list of working instructions  and changing the needle regularly. By implementing four ways, it can reduce the number of defects which are 6 % on not proportional form and 2.27% on less of needlework. It also increases the percentage of over-needlework detects which is 1.33%. In general, there is a decreasing percentage of the number of defects which is about 6.9% after implementation. Control steps using quality plan, is made as a standard that aims to describe the production process, its name, material and characteristics quality which including types of defects, acceptance, measurement method, inspection period, inspection method, person in charge, and the actions based on quality characteristic.

Abstract

PT. Integra Indocabinet is a wood furniture company. The company produces two types of products which are set-up product and knockdown product. Each product has monthly target which is set by PPIC department, which is 70 containers per month for knockdown type. However finishing department can’t fulfill this target. The purpose of this research are giving evaluation of actual output in finishing department, and suggesting several ways to improve the actual output. Observation, interview and time study are several methods which are used in this research. Observation and interview methods are used to find the root causes of the problem and to collect the historical data. Stopwatch time study is used to obtain the production capacity at finishing department. The result of production capacity calculation is 64.72 containers, while the actual output is only 62 containers. These capacity value and actual output value are not compatible with PPIC target, which are 70 containers. There are several factors which caused the actual output in finishing department is not optimum, they are the quantity and quality of the raw material from sanding department, higher occurrence of paint replacement, and many defect of WIP components. There are several improvements which are suggested to increase the actual output value. They are utilization of deadline form, classification of similar product in order to reduce the occurrence of paint replacement, and pallet modification to prevent WIP component fell down during production process.

Abstract

Abstract: PT X is karoseri companies that produce box of trucks in general and particular design (Customized design). There are many delays in the fulfillment of customer order. This is caused by a high variety type and size of the vehicles and the company didn’t know time period that is needed to make a product with certain specifications. The purpose of this research is to find the time that is needed to make single product with a specific car size and type (especially for a new type that hasn’t been requested before). Aluminium box type can be classified in 11 different type of cars. Based on 11 types of car there are 6 work process which contain of 342 work process elements.  The data collection is perfomed using a stopwatch time study. As a result, the working element can be divided into 2 kind of time calculation. They are work element which is based on the quntity of the product component and work element which is based on the dimension of the product component.
