Abstract

Relay is one of several products that is produced by PT. Schneider Electric Manufacturing Batam. The biggest reject in relay is operating voltage reject (5.18%). Relay’s operating voltage is related to the movement of armature to ferrite core, and moving terminal to fixed terminal. The movement is measured undirrectly by four characteristics in relay product. They are flatness, height, length, and allignment. The problem is operating voltage reject is still occured in relay product eventhough the four characteristics are within specification limit. Those characteristic are analyzed with linear regression in order to know the correlation between each characteristic with operating voltage. There are only three characteristics that have correlation with operating voltage. New spesification limit for each characteristic which is correlated with operating voltage is searched. Wilcoxon test is used as a tools to find the new spesification limit. The final result is operating voltage can be decreased by 4.88%.

Abstract

Abstract: Bondi Syad Mulia is a company which offer the hot dip galvanizing services. Data of disability during the month of April showed that the number of defects that occurred amounted to 12.71%. The aim of this study is to provide a proposal to decrease the number of defects that occur in galvanizing products. There are four (4) types of disability to be studied are bare spots, delamination, welding blowouts, and drainage spikes. Efforts to reduce the level of disability is done by following the steps DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control). Tools that are used to manage and analyze data is check sheet, pareto chart and fishbone diagrams. Proposed improvements given the company is to make work instructions and records of operators who perform the oven; conduct inspections to check the levels of aluminum in the kettle fluxing by using the inspection form; checking the finished iron or steel in sand blasting and keep records regarding the results obtained in the form of checking; as well as the addition to the initial inspection to check initial thickness and welding conditions on iron or steel. Keywords: Quality, DMAIC, Checksheet, Pareto charts, Fishbone diagrams.

Abstract

PT. Integra Indocabinet is a wood furniture company. The company produces two types of products which are set-up product and knockdown product. Each product has monthly target which is set by PPIC department, which is 70 containers per month for knockdown type. However finishing department can’t fulfill this target. The purpose of this research are giving evaluation of actual output in finishing department, and suggesting several ways to improve the actual output. Observation, interview and time study are several methods which are used in this research. Observation and interview methods are used to find the root causes of the problem and to collect the historical data. Stopwatch time study is used to obtain the production capacity at finishing department. The result of production capacity calculation is 64.72 containers, while the actual output is only 62 containers. These capacity value and actual output value are not compatible with PPIC target, which are 70 containers. There are several factors which caused the actual output in finishing department is not optimum, they are the quantity and quality of the raw material from sanding department, higher occurrence of paint replacement, and many defect of WIP components. There are several improvements which are suggested to increase the actual output value. They are utilization of deadline form, classification of similar product in order to reduce the occurrence of paint replacement, and pallet modification to prevent WIP component fell down during production process.

Abstract

Plant B is a plant that producing cigarette packaging industry, wants to apply continuous improvement through Quality Control Circle. Quality Control Circle is a program that involves a group of workers in a team to implement PDCA. Plant B has four Quality Control Circle projects which are project QCC NCR AMB, project QCC HL MBM ID, project QCC HL IB, and project QCC SP DSS 12.. The continuous improvement goal is based on Key Performance Indicator Target and Internal Target Company, which are determined by management. After improvement there is only one NCR blank print for project QCC NCR AMB. The waste precentage after improvement for project QCC HL MBM ID based on the last two jobs are 12.01% and 17.81%. The waste precentage after improvement for project QCC HL IB based on the last job is 15.29%. The waste precentage after improvement for project QCC SP DSS 12 based on the last two jobs are 4.6% and 3.26%.

Abstract

PT X is a private company, which is manufacturing security and safety protection. There is no quality control system on production process, which cause 100% rework. Quality control system has been design to control the incoming material, production process, and finish goods. Quality control system design done by creating quality characteristics, cheek sheets, and work instructions. Which is obtained by directly observing at production process, and interview with the members of company. Suggested quality control system has been verified by the company and can be seen in the quality plan.

Abstract

PT. X is a PVC pipe factory that esthablised since 31st August 2013. PT. X not yet has standart for all it’s process, and supporting Department is one part of the company.ISO 9001:2008 is chosen to be applied as standard in Supporting Department. Initial mapping show that current condition of the company still 36,4% match to ISO 9001:2008 requirement.Step for Designing ISO 9001:2008 is preparation step, initial mapping, documentation step, and final mapping. Comparison result between initial mapping and final mapping show match’s escalation as much as 34% from 36,4% to 70,5%

Abstract

Penyebaran virus COVID-19 yang telah ditetapkan sebagai pandemi oleh World Health Organization sedang menjadi permasalahan global yang harus dihadapi oleh berbagai negara, termasuk Indonesia. Salah satu upaya untuk pemutusan rantai penyebaran COVID-19 yaitu penerapan physical distancing. Kebijakan ini mengharuskan tenaga pendidik dan peserta didik melangsungkan kegiatan pembelajaran secara daring. Akibatnya, penggunaan gadget/komputer meningkat dan risiko kesehatan seperti musculoskeletal disorder (MSD) meningkat pula. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh computer workplace ergonomics design terhadap keluhan musculoskeletal disorder selama pembelajaran daring. Terdapat 258 responden mahasiswa yang berdomisili di Jawa Timur dan merupakan mahasiswa angkatan 2017 hingga 2020. Pengukuran desain ergonomis tempat kerja komputer dilakukan dengan memberikan beberapa pernyataan yang berhubungan dengan kriteria evaluasi desain ergonomis tempat kerja komputer, sedangkan pengukuran MSD menggunakan Nordic Body Map. Kuesioner disebarkan menggunakan Google Form dan dilakukan secara daring. Pengolahan data dilakukan menggunakan uji Mann-Whitney, uji Kruskal Wallis, uji korelasi Rank Spearman, dan uji regresi ordinal logistik dengan bantuan software IBM SPSS Statistics 25. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, 163 responden memiliki hasil skor yang tergolong ke dalam kategori baik. Hasil uji beda menyatakan bahwa tingkat MSD pria lebih rendah dibandingkan wanita. Hal ini dikarenakan kemampuan otot wanita lebih rendah dibandingkan pria. Penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa model sudah fit dengan data dan desain ergonomis tempat kerja komputer memiliki pengaruh negatif signifikan terhadap MSD.

Abstract

The prolonged use of computers, followed by incorrect posture, could cause neck pain and excessive eye refocusing. Document holder was one of office ergonomics’ tools that could reduce neck pain and eye refocusing problems. The research aims to find out the optimum document holders’ degree of tilt. Twenty female respondents from Faculty of Industrial Technology conducted typing activity using a document holder. There were three document holder’s tilt angle levels: 15°, 30°, and 45°. The responses of this study were working speed and fatigue’s level that have lower the better characteristics. Indicators of fatigue’s level that were being used were reaction time’s difference and eyes fatigue level. Working speed and reaction time difference were analyzed by using Pearson Correlation test and Multivariate Analysis of Variance. Eye fatigue level was analyzed by using Kruskal-Wallis. The results show that the optimal document holder’s degree of tilt is 45°.
