Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the magnitude of productivity, yield, and contribution of the purun woven craft industry in the form of mats and purun hats for the community in the Kali River village of Barambai sub-district, Barito Kuala district. The results of this study are (1) the average value of productivity of purul purun woven crafts is 0.466 pieces / hour, 3,207 pieces / day, 22 pieces / week, 87 pieces / month and 1039 pieces / year and the average value of productivity purun woven webbing 0.658 pieces / hour, 4,636 pieces / day, 32 pieces / week, 125 pieces / month and 1502 pieces / year. (2) The magnitude of the average yield of woven baskets is 75.096% and the average value of purun hat woven yield is 83.437%. (3) The amount of the average net income per year woven purun basket is Rp. 1,684,609.20 and the average value of annual net income of purun hat woven is Rp. 1,614,363.33, (4) The amount of the average contribution of purun baskets is 23.13% and the average value of purun woven contributions is 22.38% and the average value of the total contribution of purun woven is 40.99 %.Keywords: Purun; Productivity; Income; Contributions

Abstract

Limbah kulit sabut buah nipah yang cukup terbengkalai memiliki potensi cukup besar yang dapat digunakan sebagai bahan baku briket arang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh campuran arang kulit sabut buah nipah dan arang alaban terhadap sifat fisik dan kimia briket arang yang dihasilkan, serta menambah nilai manfaat kulit sabut buah nipah dan arang alaban. Untuk mengetahui pengaruh briket campuran arang kulit sabut buah nipah dan arang alaban, dilakukan perlakuan 100% arang kulit buah nipah, perlakuan 75% arang kulit buah nipah, 25% arang alaban, perlakuan 50% arang kulit buah nipah, 50% arang alaban, perlakuan 25% arang kulit buah nipah, 75% arang alaban, perlakuan 100% arang alaban, perekat yang digunakan adalah tepung tapioka. Pengaruh briket arang yang dihasilkan memiliki sifat fisik yaitu kadar air berkisar antara 9,264% - 14,641% dengan kerapatan 0,5197g/cm3 – 0,6030g/cm3, sifat kimia yaitu kadar abu berkisar antara 26,91% - 34,97%, kadar zat terbang berkisar antara 54,800% - 65,567%, karbon terikat berkisar antara 9,459% - 29,310%, nilai kalor 4712,08kal/g – 5152,54kal/g. Pengaruh briket campuran arang kulit buah nipah dan arang alaban terbaik terdapat pada perlakuan 25% arang kulit buah nipah, 75% arang alaban dengan nilai kadar air 9,819%, kerapatan 0,60 g/cm3, kadar abu 34,65%, kadar zat terbang 59,067%, kadar karbon terikat 28,114%, dan nilai kalor 5116,53 kal/g berdasarkan standar ASTM (American Standard Testing and Material).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jumlah Persediaan Bahan Baku Kayu Ulin (Eusideroxylon zwageri B. & T.) dalam Pembuatan Kusen Pintu di UD. Meubel Perdana Sampit Kabupaten Kotawaringin Timur. Bahan baku kayu ulin yang digunakan untuk pembuatan kusen pintu pada UD. Meubel Perdana terkadang mengalami peningkatan dan penurunan dari tahun 2012-2016 yang dimana tahun 2012 pemakaian masih mengalami kenaikan, di tahun 2013 pemakaian bahan baku mengalami penurunan dari tahun 2012. Tahun 2014 pemakaian bahan baku mengalami kenaikan yang signifikan dari tahun 2012, di tahun 2015 pemakaian bahan baku kembali mengalami penurunan di bandingkan pemakaian tahun 2014. Tahun 2016 pemakaian bahan baku naik dari tahun 2015. Adapun kenaikan penggunaan bahan baku kayu ulin tersebut disebabkan karena permintaan dari konsumen dalam pembuatan kusen pintu semakin meningkat. Pemakaian bahan baku enam bulan pertama tahun 2016 yaitu 8,352 m³, sementara 6 bulan kemudian di tahun 2017 yaitu 5,760 m³, maka dapat dilihat adanya penurunan pemakaian bahan baku sebesar 2,592 m³. atau 31,034 %. Hal ini disebabkan karena menurunnya permintaan konsumen dan diduga karena adanya persaingan usaha dalam pembuatan kusen pintu sehingga kebijaksanaan dalam perbelanjaan bahan baku dikurangi sesuai dengan perkiraan pemakaian bahan baku. Pemesanan kembali dapat dilakukan apabila persediaan bahan baku telah mencapai 3,023 m³. Jumlah optimum pemesanan yang ekonomis pada tahun 2017 adalah sebanyak 5 kali, dimana setiap kali pemesanan sebanyak 3,343 m³, dengan jarak dari setiap pemesanan adalah ± 50 hari.

Abstract

Lesser wood supplies from the forest, which impact on the increasing quality of wood, but timber is still in demand for construction materials. Fruit wood can be used as an effort or alternative to overcome supply shortages or availability of wood. However, most fruit wood has a durable class and low durability. The purpose of this study is to analyze the durability of 3 types of fruit wood, namely, durian wood, rambutan wood and jackfruit wood preserved with preservatives of tembelekan leaf extract, to determine the degree of damage to wood destroying pest attacks. The method used is the length of immersion 3 days, 5 days, and 7 days, with each replication 3 times, with sample tests totaling 27, and 9 test samples as controls, so the total number of test samples is 36. Conclusions obtained from this study is, the degree of damage of wood preserved with the extract of tembelekan leaves has the highest and lowest average value of 37.86% - 26.72%, this condition can be seen that the wood is included in conditions of moderate attack.Keywords: Durian wood; Rambutan; Jackfruit; Tembelekan leaf extract; Degree of damage

Abstract

The wood needs continue to rise causing the declining supply of wood with durable high grade. Addressing the needs of the wood is currently much used wood from different types of fruits, one of which is the bnayak mango wood is used as a material for furniture where the wood has a low grade durability durable V. This research was held the Wood Chemistry Laboratory of the Faculty of Forestry ULM using natural preservation of soursop leaves and borax chemical preservatives. The size of the wood that used in this research is 25 cm x 5 cm x 2.5 cm. The findings of this research are absorptions, retention, weight loss and degree of damage with a simple Randomized Analysis Design (RAL). Preservation of Mango wood (Mangifera indica) with soursop leaves by using 200 soursop leaves with (6.04% concentration) is the most optimal preservation value of 84.26 kg / m3 while using Borax as preservative with (10% concentration)  has preservation value of 76 , 55 kg / m3. The lowest average degrees of termite attack damage value is the usage of 200 sheets soursop leaves with (6.04% concentration), while the highest average value is The usage of 100 sheets soursop leaves (with 3.04% concentration). The highest average value of Weight loss due to termite attacks is the usage of Borax with 15% concentration, while the lowest is the usage of 200 sheets of soursop leaves (6.04% concentration). Abstract

ABSTRACT. Yield a benchmark of success or failure of a production achievement, while productivity becomes a measure of achievement of production with the desired result. The purpose is to know the yield and productivity of barecore from meranti wood pith waste (Shorea sp.) in PT. Surya Satrya Timur.That method that being used is collection a primary dan secondary data. Primary data were obtained by direct observation and interview. Primary data is conducted on each unit of activity, so it can know the amount of input, output and waste. While the secondary data is the location of research and related institutions to support the research data. The average yield obtained was 32.95% with the highest yield on one repeat to 40.65% and the lowest yield on the fifth repeat of 26.18%. Yield does not have maximum results because the yield is less than 50%. The average productivity gained was 0.95 m3/h with the greatest productivity in the third repeat of 1.66 m3/h and the lowest productivity on the fifth repeat of 0.34 m3/h. Further research is suggested to do further research on the processing of barecore from pith waste of meranti wood (Shorea sp.) in PT. Surya Satrya Timur on the influence of other factors such as machine layout with productivity, the effect of worker's characteristics on productivity and the ratio of yield between meranti sprouts and other wood chips.Keywords: Yield, Productivity, Barecore, Meranti Wood, PithABSTRAK. Rendemen menjadi tolak ukur berhasil atau tidaknya pencapaian suatu produksi, sedangkan produktivitas menjadi pengukur pencapaian produksi dengan hasil yang diinginkan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui rendemen dan produktivitas barecore dari limbah empelur kayu meranti (Shorea sp.) di PT. Surya Satrya Timur. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pengumpulan data primer dan data sekunder. Data primer diperoleh dari pengamatan langsung dan wawancara. Data primer dilaksanakan pada masing-masing unit kegiatan, sehingga dapat diketahui besarnya input, output dan limbah. Sedangkan data sekunder merupakan lokasi penelitian dan instansi terkait untuk menunjang data penelitian. Rata-rata rendemen yang diperoleh sebesar 32.95 % dengan rendemen tertinggi pada ulangan ke satu sebesar 40.65 % dan rendemen terendah pada ulangan ke lima sebesar 26.18 %. Rendemen belum memiliki hasil yang maksimal karena rendemen yang dihasilkan kurang dari 50 %. Rata-rata produktivitas yang diperoleh sebesar 0.95 m3/jam dengan produktivitas terbesar pada ulangan ke tiga sebesar 1.66 m3/jam dan produktivitas terendah pada ulangan ke lima sebesar 0.34 m3/jam. Penelitian selanjutnya disarankan melakukan penelitian lanjutan pada pengolahan barecore dari limbah empelur kayu meranti (Shorea sp.) di PT. Surya Satrya Timur mengenai pengaruh faktor-faktor lain seperti tata letak mesin dengan produktivitas, pengaruh karakteristik pekerja terhadap produktivitas dan perbandingan rendemen antara empelur meranti dengan empelur kayu lain.Kata kunci : Rendemen, Produktivitas, Barecore, Kayu Meranti, Empelur

Abstract

This study aims to measure absorption, retention, percentage of weight loss, degree of purity of the types of wood and candlenut wood, and identify the type of termites that attack the wood. The research data were analyzed using factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 2 factors (factor A) type of wood and (factor B) preservative concentration with 10 replications, to get the effectiveness of using the leaves preservative ingredients on candlenut wood and lumber wood using the cold soaking method. This research was conducted for 3 months in the Laboratory and Arboretum of the Faculty of Forestry, Lambung Mangkurat University, Banjarbaru. The results of this study indicate that the use of preservatives with a concentration of 100 grams, 200 grams, 300 grams and controls is ineffective because the results of the test data are not significant.Keywords: Randu; Kemiri; Kirinyuh; Preservation; Termite

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) Calculate the estimated use of raw materials faced by meranti plywood (Shorea spp.) In 2019, (2) Calculate economical raw material orders, (3) Analyze safety stock, and when reorder point, (4) Determine maximum storage. This research was conducted at PT. Basirih Industrial Banjarmasin, for 3 months. To analyze the data the estimated use of raw materials is done by the EOQ method (Economic Order Quantity). The calculation results revealed that the estimated use of raw materials faced with Meranti plywood film (Shorea spp.) In 2019 amounted to 16,120.20 m3, the number of economic orders in 2019 was 63 times with the purchase of raw materials of 253,9306 m3 for each one order, Rescue supplies needed in 2019 are 95.3552 m3 so that the production process continues smoothly. The re-ordering of raw materials faced by meranti plywood film is carried out if the raw material inventory is reached 308.8676 m3 with a distance of 5 days for 63 orders in 2019, the maximum storage required in 2019 is 349,2858 m3 for support the continuity of the production process.

Abstract

ABSTRACT. The effectiveness of borax in cold soaking method on sengon wood and acacia against dry wood termites’ attack (Cryptotermes cynocephalus Light). Thiskstudykaims to determinekthe resilience of Sengon wood (ParaseriantheskFalcataria) andkAcacia (Acacia Mangium) and to get the information about the effectiveness of cold soaking method with borax against the attack of dry wood termites. The resistance test due to to dry wood termites used the percentage of term loss and also the mortality of termites. The analysis that has been used to find out the effectiveness of cold soaking method with borax is by using complete randomized design. The results of this research are acacia wood has medium resistance to termite test with the score in between 4,132 to 6,217 while sengon wood is classified between 8,580 up to 10,834. Cold soaking with an effective borax is used in sengon and acacia wood as a preservative material against the attack of dry wood termite because it contains active toxic ingredients.  Keywords ; sengon wood; acacia wood; termites; boraxABSTRAK. Pengujian ketahanan terhadap rayap kayu kering menggunakan persentase kehilangan berat dan mortalitas rayap. Analisis yang digunakan untuk mengetahui efektifitas metode pengawetan rendaman dingin dengan bahan pengawet boraks menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap. Hasil penelitian yang didapat yaitu kayu akasia memiliki tingkat ketahanan sedang terhadap uji rayap dengan nilai antara 4.132 sampai dengan 6.217 sedangkan kayu sengon tergolong ketahanan kayu yang tidak tahan dengan nilai antara 8.580 sampai dengan 10.834. Perendamani dingin menggunakan pengawet boraks efektif di gunakan pada kayu sengon dan akasiaksebagai bahankpengawet terhadapkserangank rayap kayukkering karenakmengandung bahankaktif beracun.   Kata Kunci: Kayu sengon ; kayu akasia ; rayap ; boraks
