Abstract

The rice husk waste often becomes a problem for people in Tatah Makmur district. The mountainous of a stack of rice husk has not been utilized by farmers as a useful material. The science activities for the people aimed to provide knowledge about the utilization of rice husk waste into a charcoal husk, biobricket, and bokashi. The target people of this program are Kelompok Tani Bina Desa Jaya RT. 07 and Yasinan Group RT. 06 in Tatah Makmur district. The types of outcomes generated through the science activities of the people are biobricket and bokashi. The socialization, counseling, and training activities were held from May to October 2015 in Pemangkih Village, Tatah Makmur district, South Kalimantan. The people in the village enthusiastically participated in extension activities as they gained knowledge about the making of bokashi and biobricket so that it can reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers and wood fuels. The science activities for this people can solve the problems of the farmers in the utilization of rice husk waste and at the same time can overcome the farmers’ difficulties in obtaining organic fertilizer.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to anaIyze the degree of damage to 2 types of wood preserved with kitchen lemongrass preservatives against subterranean termites. Data anaIysis was performed to caIculate absorption and retention using a compIeteIy srandomized design with 4 treatments and 5 replications using 2 types of wood, so that the number of sampIes is 40 and each type of wood is as many as 20 sampIes. Theresults showed that the value of the degree of damage to durian wood and rubber wood preserved with kitchen lemongrass experienced mild attacks on average. The value of the degree of wood damage is obtained by first knoing the percentage of wood weight Ioss, the smaIIer the reduction in wood weight the better the effectiveness of the preservative. Degree of damage to durian wood and rubber wood preserved with Iemongrass the average experienced a miId attack with the highest value of durian wood at 100gr treatment of 28,43% and the Iowest was at 300gr treatment at 6,21%. While for rubber wood the highest value was at 100gr treatment of 38,34% and the Iowest at 300gr treatment of 20,89%. The type of subterranean termite that attacks durian wood an rubber wood is a type of subterranean termite Macrotermes gilvusI.Tujuan peneIitian ini adaIah untuk MenganaIisis derajat kerusakan 2 jenis kayu yang diawetkan dengan bahan pengawet sereh dapur terhadap serangan rayap tanah. AnaIisis data diIakukan untuk menghitung absorbsi dan retensi dangan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan menggunakan 2 jenis kayu, sehingga jumlah sampel sebanyak 40 buah dan masing-masing jenis kayu sebanyak 20 sampel uji. HasiI peneIitian menunjukkan bahwa Nilai derajat kerusakan kayu durian dan kayu karet yang diawetkan dengan sereh dapur rata-rata mengalami serangan ringan. Pada kayu durian derajat kerusakan tertinggi terdapat perIakuan 100gr sebesar 28,43% dan terendah pada perIakuan 300gr sebesar 6,21% sedangkan kayu karet nilai tertinggi pada perIakuan 100 gr sebesar 38,34% dan terendah pada perIakuan 300 gr sebesar 20,89%. Nilai derajar kerusakan kayu didapatkan dengan terlebih dahulu mengatahui persentase kehilangan berat kayu, semakin kecil pengurangan berat kayu semakin bagus efektivitas bahan pengawet.  Jenis rayap tanah yang menyerang kayu durian dan kayu karet adaIah jenis rayap tanah Macrotermes gilvus

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of urea and PEG 1000 (Polyethylene glycol) on the success rate of Jabon wood stabilization (Anthocephalus cadamba Miq), Analyzing the effect of immersion duration on the success rate of Jabon wood dimension stabilization (Anthocephalus cadamba Miq). The method used that is a complete Random Design (RAL) by A factor of two (the concentration of the mixture of urea and PEG 1000) and B (long Soaking). The results of the urea and PEG 1000 studies have succeeded in which the values before the tangential treatment (control) with a value of 2.67% to 1.27%. While the radial value before treatment was 2.04% to 1.05%. While overall T/R depreciation gives the best value with values ranging from 1.0 -1.5. Treatment that produces the value of the best tangential direction i.e. ASE 70.32% in the mixture of urea and PEG 1000 0%-100%, long soaking 5 days (A5B3). While the value of ASE radial is said to succeed because more than 50% of the value of 66.06% urea mixture and PEG 1000 0%-100%, long soaking 5 days (A5B3). While ASE T/R can be said did not work because it is still less than 50% with the highest value 30.86% in the mixture of urea and PEG 1000 75%-25% with long submersion in 3 days (A4B2).Keywords: Immersion time, Urea, PEG 1000,Jabon

Abstract

The exploitation factor is one of the important parameters in harvesting forest products in accordance with the 0.70 quota set by the Ministry of Forestry. The method used in this study refers to several sources, in calculating the exploitation factor using a formula based on "allian" (Moeljono. S. B) as well as for the calculation of log volume. The main component in this study determines the aspects of exploitation factors and log volume with wood volume as primary data used and which is expected to be utilized from exploitation activities and secondary data as additional data to support research obtained through interviews, citing data from companies. Secondary data consisted of the general conditions of the research location, topography, field, area and location of the cutting compartments. The value of the Exploitation Factor in IUPHHK-HA at PT Bina Multi Alam Lestari from 265.95 m³ of trees cut and successfully utilized in the 211.24 m³ cutting block to log yards (logpond) did not experience a reduction or depreciation, from this result the value of the Exploitation Factor the value obtained is 0.79, the value obtained has met the quota set by the government. The yield of wood volume that can be utilized in plot E-12 with a volume value of 46.86 m³, on plot F-12 the volume value is 52.22 m³, for plot F-13 the volume value is 39.55 m³ and then plot J-14 with a value volume 72.61 m³. The average yield value of all logged plots can be utilized with an overall value of 211.24 m³.Keywords: Exploitation factor, harvesting forest products, limited production forest

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jumlah Persediaan Bahan Baku Kayu Ulin (Eusideroxylon zwageri B. & T.) dalam Pembuatan Kusen Pintu di UD. Meubel Perdana Sampit Kabupaten Kotawaringin Timur. Bahan baku kayu ulin yang digunakan untuk pembuatan kusen pintu pada UD. Meubel Perdana terkadang mengalami peningkatan dan penurunan dari tahun 2012-2016 yang dimana tahun 2012 pemakaian masih mengalami kenaikan, di tahun 2013 pemakaian bahan baku mengalami penurunan dari tahun 2012. Tahun 2014 pemakaian bahan baku mengalami kenaikan yang signifikan dari tahun 2012, di tahun 2015 pemakaian bahan baku kembali mengalami penurunan di bandingkan pemakaian tahun 2014. Tahun 2016 pemakaian bahan baku naik dari tahun 2015. Adapun kenaikan penggunaan bahan baku kayu ulin tersebut disebabkan karena permintaan dari konsumen dalam pembuatan kusen pintu semakin meningkat. Pemakaian bahan baku enam bulan pertama tahun 2016 yaitu 8,352 m³, sementara 6 bulan kemudian di tahun 2017 yaitu 5,760 m³, maka dapat dilihat adanya penurunan pemakaian bahan baku sebesar 2,592 m³. atau 31,034 %. Hal ini disebabkan karena menurunnya permintaan konsumen dan diduga karena adanya persaingan usaha dalam pembuatan kusen pintu sehingga kebijaksanaan dalam perbelanjaan bahan baku dikurangi sesuai dengan perkiraan pemakaian bahan baku. Pemesanan kembali dapat dilakukan apabila persediaan bahan baku telah mencapai 3,023 m³. Jumlah optimum pemesanan yang ekonomis pada tahun 2017 adalah sebanyak 5 kali, dimana setiap kali pemesanan sebanyak 3,343 m³, dengan jarak dari setiap pemesanan adalah ± 50 hari.

Abstract

Lesser wood supplies from the forest, which impact on the increasing quality of wood, but timber is still in demand for construction materials. Fruit wood can be used as an effort or alternative to overcome supply shortages or availability of wood. However, most fruit wood has a durable class and low durability. The purpose of this study is to analyze the durability of 3 types of fruit wood, namely, durian wood, rambutan wood and jackfruit wood preserved with preservatives of tembelekan leaf extract, to determine the degree of damage to wood destroying pest attacks. The method used is the length of immersion 3 days, 5 days, and 7 days, with each replication 3 times, with sample tests totaling 27, and 9 test samples as controls, so the total number of test samples is 36. Conclusions obtained from this study is, the degree of damage of wood preserved with the extract of tembelekan leaves has the highest and lowest average value of 37.86% - 26.72%, this condition can be seen that the wood is included in conditions of moderate attack.Keywords: Durian wood; Rambutan; Jackfruit; Tembelekan leaf extract; Degree of damage

Abstract

This study aims to measure absorption, retention, percentage of weight loss, degree of purity of the types of wood and candlenut wood, and identify the type of termites that attack the wood. The research data were analyzed using factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 2 factors (factor A) type of wood and (factor B) preservative concentration with 10 replications, to get the effectiveness of using the leaves preservative ingredients on candlenut wood and lumber wood using the cold soaking method. This research was conducted for 3 months in the Laboratory and Arboretum of the Faculty of Forestry, Lambung Mangkurat University, Banjarbaru. The results of this study indicate that the use of preservatives with a concentration of 100 grams, 200 grams, 300 grams and controls is ineffective because the results of the test data are not significant.Keywords: Randu; Kemiri; Kirinyuh; Preservation; Termite

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) Calculate the estimated use of raw materials faced by meranti plywood (Shorea spp.) In 2019, (2) Calculate economical raw material orders, (3) Analyze safety stock, and when reorder point, (4) Determine maximum storage. This research was conducted at PT. Basirih Industrial Banjarmasin, for 3 months. To analyze the data the estimated use of raw materials is done by the EOQ method (Economic Order Quantity). The calculation results revealed that the estimated use of raw materials faced with Meranti plywood film (Shorea spp.) In 2019 amounted to 16,120.20 m3, the number of economic orders in 2019 was 63 times with the purchase of raw materials of 253,9306 m3 for each one order, Rescue supplies needed in 2019 are 95.3552 m3 so that the production process continues smoothly. The re-ordering of raw materials faced by meranti plywood film is carried out if the raw material inventory is reached 308.8676 m3 with a distance of 5 days for 63 orders in 2019, the maximum storage required in 2019 is 349,2858 m3 for support the continuity of the production process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi campuran arang kulit sabut buah nipah dan arang sekam padi terhadap sifat fisik-kimia briket arang yang dihasilkan. Manfaat penelitian ini sebagai bahan informasi atau sumbangan ilmu pengetahuan bagi masyarakat disekitar hutan nipah dan Dinas Energi dan Pertambangan Provinsi Kalimantan Selatan tentang pengembangan pemanfaatan limbah kulit sabut buah Nipah dan sekam padi untuk dijadikan sebagai sumber energi alternatif. Pengambilan kulit sabut buah nipah dan sekam padi dilakukan di Desa Bunipah, sedangkan pengolahan briket arang dan pengujian sifat fisik dan kimianya dilakukan di Workshop Fakultas Kehutanan Universitas Lambung Mangkurat.Data hasil pengujian briket arang campurandari arang kulit sabut buah nipah dan arang sekam padi yang telah dibandingkan dan memenuhi standar ASTM dan SNI 01-6235-2000 terdapat pada parameter kadar air yaitu dengan nilai perlakuan A 4,899, perlakuan B 3,502, perlakuan C 4,023, perlakuan D 3,485, dan perlakuan E 2,253 dengan komposisi 100% arang kulit sabut buah nipah dimana kelima perlakuan memenuhi standar keduanya.Parameter yang tidak memenuhi standar ASTM dan SNI 01-6235-2000 disebabkan pada saat proses pengolahan briket tidak menggunakan mesin pencetak hidrolik yang ada tekanan kempanya sehingga dapat menyebabkan kerapatan pada briket tidak maksimal.Dalam proses pembuatan briket diharapkan dikombinasi dengan arang kayu supaya briket yang dihasilkan memenuhi standart kualitas briket dan dapat dijadikan sebagai bahan alternatif.

Abstract

ABSTRACT. The effectiveness of borax in cold soaking method on sengon wood and acacia against dry wood termites’ attack (Cryptotermes cynocephalus Light). Thiskstudykaims to determinekthe resilience of Sengon wood (ParaseriantheskFalcataria) andkAcacia (Acacia Mangium) and to get the information about the effectiveness of cold soaking method with borax against the attack of dry wood termites. The resistance test due to to dry wood termites used the percentage of term loss and also the mortality of termites. The analysis that has been used to find out the effectiveness of cold soaking method with borax is by using complete randomized design. The results of this research are acacia wood has medium resistance to termite test with the score in between 4,132 to 6,217 while sengon wood is classified between 8,580 up to 10,834. Cold soaking with an effective borax is used in sengon and acacia wood as a preservative material against the attack of dry wood termite because it contains active toxic ingredients.  Keywords ; sengon wood; acacia wood; termites; boraxABSTRAK. Pengujian ketahanan terhadap rayap kayu kering menggunakan persentase kehilangan berat dan mortalitas rayap. Analisis yang digunakan untuk mengetahui efektifitas metode pengawetan rendaman dingin dengan bahan pengawet boraks menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap. Hasil penelitian yang didapat yaitu kayu akasia memiliki tingkat ketahanan sedang terhadap uji rayap dengan nilai antara 4.132 sampai dengan 6.217 sedangkan kayu sengon tergolong ketahanan kayu yang tidak tahan dengan nilai antara 8.580 sampai dengan 10.834. Perendamani dingin menggunakan pengawet boraks efektif di gunakan pada kayu sengon dan akasiaksebagai bahankpengawet terhadapkserangank rayap kayukkering karenakmengandung bahankaktif beracun.   Kata Kunci: Kayu sengon ; kayu akasia ; rayap ; boraks
