Abstract

Obesity is defined as abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that can interfere with health. In 2015, more than 1.9 billion adults were overweight and 400 million of them were obese. Various types of anthropometry can be used to determine the occurrence of obesity, these methods include measurement of body mass index (BMI). Arm circumference, and abdominal circumference. Body mass index is an indicator of obesity that is widely used to estimate the composition of body fat. Based on an initial survey conducted in April-May the number of obesity increased until June-July 2018. From the results of a preliminary study conducted by researchers, more productive-age housewives were obese I than obesity II. An anthropometric picture of obese housewives in Taccorong Village, Bulukumba District was known. The method used in this research is descriptive with a simple approach. Sampling was carried out with a purposive sampling technique. The population in this study was 1,011 people. The sample in this study was 62 respondents. The results of this study indicate that housewives of productive age who have a picture (obesity I) BMI 25-29.9 amounted to 59.7%, and (obesity II) BMI ≥ 30 by 40.3%, normal upper arm circumference of 24, 2%, abnormal upper arm circumference 75.8%, and abdominal circumference 62%. The conclusion of this study is that housewives who are obese in Taccorong Village, Bulukumba Regency are based on productive age (15-49) years old, with young adults (18-35) years totaling 37 (59.7%) respondents and old adulthood (36-49 ) year totaling 25 (40.3%) respondents. It is recommended for housewives to improve a healthy lifestyle to avoid obesity which can lead to degenerative diseases.

Abstract

Toddlers are children aged 12 months to 59 months. This period is important in the process of developmental growth and development of toddlers and is called the Golden Period. The unsuitable growth status of children under five can increase the risk of morbidity and mortality because this condition causes infectious diseases such as pneumonia to occur frequently in children under five known as pneumonia. Pneumonia in children under five is still a major health problem in the world. Other risk factors for pneumonia are nutritional status, exclusive breastfeeding, and immunization. This study aims to determine the factors associated with pneumonia in children under five at Sinjai Hospital in 2022. The research design used was a quantitative study with a cross-sectional approach. Researchers used a sampling technique, namely Non-Probability Sampling with a Purposive Sampling technique. The samples obtained were 48 using observation sheets. The results of this study using the chi-square test on the nutritional status variable obtained a p-value of 0.018 <0.05 which indicated that there was a relationship between nutritional status and pneumonia, the variable of exclusive breastfeeding with a p-value of 0.036 <0.05 there was a relationship between exclusive breastfeeding against pneumonia, while the immunization variable obtained a p-value of 0.010 <0.05 there was a relationship between immunization against pneumonia. The study concludes that there is a relationship between nutritional status, exclusive breastfeeding, and immunization against pneumonia. In Sinjai Hospital it is recommended to improve health promotion of nutrition for children under five, immunization programs, and exclusive breastfeeding to minimize the occurrence of pneumonia in children under five.

Abstract

The World Health Organization indicates that 16,500 people worldwide die every day from all kinds of injuries. One of them is a head injury whose cases are often found in the hospital's treatment room or the intensive care unit. Factors that aggravate the condition of post-craniotomy head trauma patients during hospitalization in the ICU, such as decreased consciousness, cerebral edema, pupillary dilatation, increased intracranial pressure, seizures, and fever/increased body temperature. Fever in head trauma patients can be caused by inflammation, infection, or damage to the hypothalamus, causing an increase in metabolic rate and increased intracranial pressure, which can cause additional trauma such as seizures, dehydration, and even shock. Warm the patient with a cloth and warm water. Objective: Analysis of health care in post-craniotomy brain trauma patients with hyperthermia using warm compress intervention in the ICU. Method: A case study with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, physical examination, and documentation. Warm compresses are applied when the patient is hyperthermic and stops when the body temperature drops. Results: Data analysis showed that warm compress intervention was effective in reducing body temperature in post-craniotomy traumatic brain injury patients with hyperthermia. Conclusion: it was concluded that warm compresses effectively deal with hyperthermia problems.

Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) or chronic kidney disease refers to the progressive and irreversible abnormal function of the kidneys, resulting in the body's inability to maintain a balance of metabolism, fluid, and electrolytes effectively. The purpose of this case study was to determine the effectiveness of olive oil administration at Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo Makassar Teaching Hospital. The method used in this study was a case study approach, collecting data through observation, interviews, physical evaluation, and documentation, on one patient as a sample. The data analysis results showed that olive oil administration for 3 days indicated a decrease in the risk of pressure ulcers. This intervention was given once a day by applying olive oil to the patient's back, and the monitoring results before and after the intervention showed decubitus scores on day 1 (13-13), day 2 (13-11), and day 3 (11-11). There was a decrease in the decubitus scores, although not significant, as the patient was in a sedated condition with a total dependence level. The conclusion of this case study is that olive oil can prevent the occurrence of pressure ulcers with a decrease in decubitus scores over 3 days. The recommendation from the research results is that olive oil intervention can be a patented non-pharmacological therapy for long-term patient care with minimal impact, easy accessibility, and economical.

Abstract

Prolonged elevated blood glucose levels leads to chronic microvascular complications, neuropathy complications and lower extremity peripheral circulation disorders. Actions that can be taken care in non-pharmacological that is Buerger Allen exercise. To determine the effect of Buerger Allen Exercise in lower limb peripheral circulation in diabetes mellitus patients.Study used a quantitative method with a pre-experimental design using a pre-post test without control group. Sampling technique is non-probability sampling with accidental sampling approach is obtained 5 respondents. The Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test results of the ABI value in the right limb are 0.043 or p <0.05 and the ABI value on the left limb are 0.025 or p <0.05.Buerger Allen Exercise is effective in improving peripheral circulation of the lower extremities and is an alternative for repairing impaired tissue perfusion in diabetic feet. Future research can examine the most appropriate frequency and duration.
