Abstract

Life of the Catholic Church in the current of modernization needs to be seriously considered by the young Catholics. It is because the future of the Catholic Church depends on the quality of the Catholic young in a parish or region. The current of modernization poses a great challenge for the young Catholics because modernization can be a means of facilitating the involvement of the young Catholics in the life of the Church. On the other hand, the current of modernization can also be alienating young people from the Church. The Catholics young should be able to develop and utilize those five duties of the Church ministery in the current of modernization as best as possible. The development and utilization of those Church ministery within modernization require the Catholics young to operationalize those Church ministery which are koinonia, kerygma, martyria, liturgia, and diakonia. The informants of the study were the Catholics young of the Immaculate Saint Mary Parish, Surabaya. The study was conducted using a qualitative method. The objective of the study is to examine the perception of the young Catholics on how to develop and utilize the duties of Church ministery in the current modernization. The results of the study so far indicated that the young Catholics has tried their best to develop and utilize the duties of the Catholic Church ministery in the midst of the current of modernization in the way of utilizing technological and communication developments for digital-based proclamation of word of God and to organize various Catholics young’s activities in a more effective and efficient way.

Abstract

Young Catholics are those who have Faith in God through Jesus Christ guidance of the Holy Spirit in the communion of Catholic churches. Young Catholics are the next generation of the church, the future of the church, and the pillar of the church. Young catholics have such activities as: retreats, recollection, Eucharists, pilgrims, and other. The activities of the young Catholic aimed to develope faith, drawing closer to God, and making themselves increasingly positive. To what extent do young people beome involved in such activities? How For the activities of young catholics develop faith? The study uses a quallitative method. This study was carried out on 3-9 october 2019. Respondents of this study were young Catholics 13-30, actively engaged in action in St. Francis’s Parish of Resapombo, and easy to meet. The number of respondents in this study is 9. According to research, 9 respondents (100%) can explain the activities of young catholics. All other, 9 respondents (100%) are able to answer or define a growing sense of faith. Related to the influence of young catholics’ activities for the development of faith in Sr. Francis’s Parish of Resapombo, 8 respondents (88,8%) saw the effect that young catholics’ activities had on the development of faith, and 1 respondent (11,1%) said that young catholics’ activities had no effect on the development of faith.

Abstract

The homily aims to make the Catholics to aware of their faith in Christ, to nurture their spiritual life, and strenghten their relation with God. The research applied a qualitative method through interview. The respondents of research were Christian faithful in St. Cornelius Parish, Madiun City. Respondents regularly visiting the Church to attend Eucharist and listen to Sunday homily. The results of research indicated that there were 10 (100%) respondents disclosed that the homily on Sunday Eucharist celebration had a significant impact on the development of faith of the Catholics. Such developement was shown by the following indicators: 1) the Catholics were more active to go to the Church, 2) the Catholics become more diligent to read the Word of God, 3) the catholics become more diligent to follow any spiritual and social activities both within the Church and outside the Church, and 4) they were more diligent in carrying out the five tasks of the Church. Based on 10 respondents, there was only 1 (10%) respondent who said that the Sunday homilly has less impact on her life compared to the impact of receiving the holy body and blood of Christ (communion) during the Sunday Eucharist celebration.

Abstract

The Homeroom teacher is the person who has the first opportunity to improve the quality of learning regarding his role in fostering, guiding, and psychologically preaparing students, to be ready to participate in and carryout learning and learning activities in an effective and conducive claccroom atmosphere so that the quality of learning processes and outcomes can be achieved. The hope as a homeroom teacher in increasing student learning interest in online learning during the covid-19 pandemic is that the homeroom teacher can master technology to support online learning. The purpose of this study was to explain the role of the homeroom teacher in increasing student interest in online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic at Kanisius Elementary School Sidowayah 02 Klaten. This study uses a qualitative method. The respondents of this study were the homeroom teacher of SD Kanisius Sidowayah 02 Klaten. The number of respondents in this study was 12 people. From the results of this study, the homeroom teachers of SD Kanisius Sidowayah 02 Klaten understand their respective roles increase students interest in learning.

Abstract

From the early Church to the present day, the Rosary continues to be popular among Christians. In the Middle Ages there was even an association of the Holy Rosary Society, and today one of these associations is in St.Willibrordus Cepu Parish with the name Holy Rosary Prayer Community. This community is run by an elderly group, and has been around for 17 years. The problem: is the Rosary prayer activity that has been carried out for dozens of years really providing benefits for the development of the members' faith? This study aims to answer these problems. The research method uses qualitative research methods with interview techniques. The results showed that out of 100% of the members there were 20% who did not understand the basic concept of praying the Rosary. However, 100% of members understand the development of faith, and acknowledge that praying the Rosary is beneficial for the development of member faith. This benefit is manifested in attitudes and actions as a real reflection of the example of Our Lady and Jesus in the Rosary prayer activities.

Abstract

Pastoral school is a pastoral care, mentoring and faith formation activity for students in Catholic schools. In this mentoring and faith formation, the pastoral school organizes various activities such as religious lessons, catechesis, liturgical activities, deepening of the faith, recollections, retreats, pilgrimages, visits to orphanages, fasting, and group recreation. This research uses qualitative methods. This research was conducted from April 21 to May 5 2020. The total number of respondents was 7 people, with details of 4 respondents from St. Yusuf and 3 respondents from St. Bernadus Junior High School, who is actively involved in pastoral development activities in their respective schools. The results of the research showed that all respondents (100%) were able to explain the meaning of pastoral school as a place for cultivating children's faith in the school environment. All respondents (100%) provided an understanding regarding the importance of developing children's faith through pastoral activities. Regarding the impact of pastoral school on the development of children's faith in Junior High School, the majority of respondents (85.71%) could see the positive impact of pastoral activities on the development of children's faith. However, one respondent (14.28%) stated that pastoral school care had a less significant impact because there were still many children who did not want to be involved in spiritual activities.

Abstract

Catholic Children's Faith Formation Program (BIAK) is a faith development program proposed by the Catholic Church for Catholic children’s faith dan attitudes development.This faith formation is carried out for children aged 5-12 years.This is done for the growth and development of the Catholic children's faith and attitudes.Mater Dei Parish in Madiun city has a Catholic Children's Faith Formation (BIAK) program especially for the children aged 5-12 years.This study aims to identify the understanding of both Catholic children’s faith formation instructors and parents regarding the contribution of the Catholic children’s faith formation activities on the children’s faith and attitudes development. This study was conducted using a qualitative method approach.Data collection was carried out using structured and individual interview techniques.The informants for this study were children’s faith formation instructors and the parents of the children. The results of the study indicated that Catholic chlidren’s faith formation program has a significan contribution on the children’s faith and attitudes development.

Abstract

The church cannot be separated from the existence and involvement of its citizens. No strings attached, every member of the Church devotes himself to the growth and development of the Church. One of the members of the Church is a catechist. Catechists proclaim the Good News centered on Jesus Christ. The personal relationship of the catechist with Christ becomes the spirit of the catechist in carrying out his mission. The spirit should have been lived by catechists since becoming a catechist candidate during his education. The question is have the catechist candidates lived the spirit correctly? Is there a catechist spirit that is lived up by the catechist candidate has an impact on the implementation of internships at schools and parishes? To get answers to these questions research is needed. This study uses a qualitative method. The research respondents were students of STKIP Widya Yuwana in the 8th semester of the 2018/2019 academic year. Research respondents numbered 9 people. The purpose of this study is to find out whether there is an influence of the spirit of catechism in the implementation of student internships organized by STKIP Widya Yuwana or not. Based on the results of the study, as many as 55.5% of respondents stated that the basis which is lived up, then 44.4% of respondents said that the spirit of the catechist is the spirit within the catechist. Furthermore, 3 respondents 33.3% stated that the spirit of catechism is the spirit of the catechist and comes from God. Furthermore, 1 respondent stated that the spirit of the catechist originated from role models. All respondents namely 100% stated that the spirit of the catechist greatly influenced the implementation of the internship. Some influences that can be mentioned are: first, through the spirit of being responsible, humble and loyal. Second, through the spirit can act and say according to the spirit of Christ. Third, through the spirit can build awareness to serve. Fourth, through the spirit, it can be strong in dealing with problems. The fifth, effect but the results are not clear.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the definition of Bina Iman Anak Katolik Supervisor, the code of ethics established by the Children's Commission of the Diocese of Surabaya, and its implementation in the Parish of St. Francis of Assisi, Mojorejo. Qualitative research methods were employed, with seven Bina Iman Anak Katolik coaches as informants. The findings reveal that Bina Iman Anak Katolik coaches grasp the code of ethics outlined by the Surabaya Diocese Children's Commission and perceive it as a standard for their training. The code has been effectively implemented, focusing on eight key points: accompanying children during activities, aiding them in liturgical matters, supporting them technically with families and colleagues, integrating them with the community, addressing potential issues, guiding them under leadership, and attending to individual needs.
