Abstract

Administratively Bedukang coastal waters get into the District of Riau Silip Bangka. There is a tin mining activities and farms in the region that directly or indirectly provide significant pressure on water quality in the region. The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of the quality of coastal waters Bedukang and assess the degree of pollution in coastal waters Bedukang using Pollution Index (IP). Methods of data collection was done at 4 stations by purposive sampling. Insitu measurement parameters are parameters of temperature, pH, and salinity and measurement parameters are parameters exsitu TSS, TDS, BOD, Metals Pb and Total Coliform. Analysis of water quality data using Pollution Index (IP). The results show the value of IP, namely at the first station, the station 3 and the station 4, including lightly polluted category with the value of each value of 2.819, 1.025 and 1.022. At station 2 including good water quality category with the pollution index value of 0.919.There are 3 point lightly polluted so it needs special attention from the local government in the utilization of resources in the region.

Abstract

Batu Belubang Village plays a strategic role in the fisheries sector, with the floating lift net (bagan apung) as the main fishing gear, yet this sector continuously faces major challenges, notably catch fluctuations and rising operational costs. Within the framework of sustainable fisheries business, financial feasibility analysis serves as a fundamental theoretical basis for assessing business efficiency and resilience. Given the lack of comprehensive financial studies in this area, this research aims to analyze the financial feasibility of the floating lift net business through the indicators of profit (????), Rasio Penerimaan terhadap Biaya (R/C), Payback Period (PP) and Return on Investment (ROI). Understanding these metrics is crucial for providing strategic insight to fishermen and the government in managing resources for sustainable welfare.The analysis results show a business profit of Rp 8.283.963.333-,with an R/C value of 63.72, indicating that every rupiah of cost generates 63.72 times the revenue. The measured Payback Period is only 0.069 years or approximately 25 days, signifying a rapid return on capital. The ROI value, reaching 14.29%, confirms the financial feasibility of the floating lift net business, but this low figure indicates operational inefficiency and vulnerability to market fluctuations. Therefore, strategic interventions focused on processed product development, digital market expansion, and cost efficiency optimization are necessary to increase the ROI and ensure the business’s sustained profitability.

Abstract

Central Bangka is a coastal area endowed with significant pelagic fishery resources. Barracuda fish (Sphyraena spp.) representing one of the economically valuable commodities, predominantly caught using handline fishing gear. However, the lack of adequate information on fishing seasons remains a major challenge in ensuring consistent supply, which in turn affects the efficiency of fisheries logistics and the stability of the distribution chain. This study aims to analyze the fishing seasonality, fishing effort, and distribution patterns of barracuda in Central Bangka as a basis for developing a more efficient and adaptive fisheries logistics system. The data used were obtained from monthly catch records and the number of handline fishing trips at the Batu Belubang Fish Landing Center (TPI) during the 2020–2024 period. The analysis involved calculating the Catch per Unit Effort (CPUE) and the Fishing Season Index (IMP) using the moving average method, followed by a comparative assessment between the IMP values and fishing effort patterns to evaluate fishermen’s responsiveness to seasonal fish availability. The results indicated that peak fishing seasons for barracuda occur in January, March, May–June, and October. Nevertheless, a mismatch between fishing effort and IMP values was observed, indicating both overcapacity and undercapacity during certain periods. These inefficiencies contribute to imbalances in the supply and distribution of barracuda. Among the identified peak months, May was determined to be the most efficient period for barracuda fishing in Central Bangka waters
