Abstract

This study aims to identify the impact of fashion trends and impulse buying on consumers' purchasing decisions at Hongkong Fashion, located on Sisingamangaraja Street, Sudirejo II Subdistrict, Medan Kota District. The background of this research stems from the growing phenomenon of consumer behavior in urban communities, particularly among the younger generation, who are often influenced by trends and temporary emotions when purchasing fashion products. The research method applied is quantitative with an associative approach. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to 93 respondents. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression, including validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, t-test (partial), F-test (simultaneous), and coefficient of determination (R²) analysis. The results indicate that the impulse buying variable has a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions, while the fashion trend variable has a negative but also significant influence. Both variables simultaneously have a significant impact on purchasing decisions, contributing 93.9%. These findings suggest that consumer buying behavior is more influenced by emotional drives and sudden desires than by understanding fashion trends. Therefore, companies are advised to enhance marketing strategies that focus on visual and emotional elements to stimulate impulsive purchases, while still presenting trends that align with the local consumers’ characteristics.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of fitness development in shaping the discipline and physical resilience of students at UPT SPF SD Negeri 107405 Sei Rotan. The research is motivated by the importance of holistic character education at the elementary level, where fitness does not only focus on physical fitness, but mental formation and discipline. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that structured activities, such as morning gymnastics, flag ceremonies, and scouting, succeeded in integrating the values of discipline, physical and mental resilience contextually. Students not only become fitter, but also show improvements in time discipline, cooperation, and resilience to challenges. This finding is strengthened by the testimony of teachers stating that routine habituation in the classroom creates a school culture that is conducive to character development. This study recommends the development of more creative and collaborative wellness programs involving parents and the community. The implications of this research provide a practical contribution to strengthening character education in elementary schools through a close approach.

Abstract

Abstract

Concentration and learning motivation are two crucial factors influencing student success in the educational process, particularly at the elementary school level. However, various obstacles such as physical fatigue, lack of physical activity, and learning boredom often reduce the quality of learning. This study aims to investigate the role of physical fitness activities in enhancing students’ concentration and learning motivation at SD Negeri 091641 Bandar Tinggi. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed, with data collected through observations, questionnaires, and interviews involving students and classroom teachers regularly participating in physical fitness activities. The results demonstrate a positive and significant relationship between the implementation of physical fitness activities and improvements in students’ concentration and learning motivation. The average concentration score increased from 68.25 to 78.90, and the learning motivation score rose from 70.40 to 82.15 following consistent participation in physical fitness programs. A paired sample t-test yielded a p-value of 0.000, indicating a significant difference before and after the program. Qualitative findings from interviews corroborate the quantitative data, showing that students active in physical fitness tend to be more alert, disciplined, engaged, and quicker to grasp lessons. In conclusion, the consistent implementation of physical fitness programs is effective in optimally preparing students mentally and physically for learning and can serve as a supportive strategy for academic success in elementary schools.
