Abstract

Tourism is a strategic sector in regional development. Agam Regency offers a variety of tourism potential, including natural, cultural, religious, and artificial attractions. However, information about these attractions is still fragmented and unintegrated. This study aims to identify the distribution of tourist attractions and design a WebGIS-based tourism information system. Primary data were collected through field observation and documentation, while secondary data were obtained from government agencies. Spatial data were processed using QGIS and ArcGIS, non-spatial data were stored in MySQL, and the system was developed using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and XAMPP. The results indicate that the system successfully displays interactive maps, provides detailed descriptive information, and is compatible across devices. The user feedback has been positive, indicating high satisfaction with the system. This WebGIS-based system proves to be an effective tool for tourism promotion and management, helping Agam Regency integrate its tourism potential and make it more accessible to tourists and stakeholders alike.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level and typology of Urban Sprawl in Padang City in 2024 using a Geographic Information System (GIS) approach. The continuous growth of the population, along with the expansion of economic and social activities within the community, has become a major factor driving the uncontrolled expansion of urban areas toward the city’s outskirts. This phenomenon is generally characterized by increasing population density, a growing number of new buildings, changes in road network patterns, and shifts in land use from non-urban areas to built-up areas. This study utilizes several types of data, including population data, building data, new building data, the location of the city center, and road network data for the year 2024, which are analyzed spatially. The analytical method is conducted through scoring and classification techniques to identify the spatial distribution patterns of urban development and to determine three typologies of Urban Sprawl, namely low, medium, and high levels.

Abstract

Planning villa development in complex topographic areas requires accurate and detailed terrain information to ensure safety, construction efficiency, and environmental sustainability. This study aims to utilize LiDAR data to generate a Digital Terrain Model (DTM) and conduct slope analysis to support villa development planning in Budo Village, Wori District, North Minahasa Regency. The research employed a quantitative applied approach using LiDAR point cloud data processed through classification, filtering, and interpolation to produce a DTM, followed by slope analysis using GIS. The results show that the study area has elevation variations between ±73 and ±173 meters above sea level with a vertical RMSE accuracy of 0.487 meters, classified as very good. Slope classification indicates that flat (0–8%) and gentle (8–15%) areas dominate the central region and are highly suitable for villa development due to low geotechnical risk and minimal earthwork requirements.
