Abstract

Education should be intended for all levels of society regardless of specific classes and groups. Education in the past has the aim of forming a person with the spirit of a knight based on noble character, but when the colonial occupation is introduced, a modern education system teaches reading and writing with the aim to produce quality workers with low wages. When applied the ethical policy, the goal of education is to change direction with the aim of advancing and improving people's lives. Through this educational channel, deliberately by Franz van Lith, a Jesuit who chose a missionary workshop through the education channel Franz van Lith thought that if If you want to give a Catholic faith, you must first change the mindset and prosperity of the Javanese people and the only right way is through education. Franz van Lith had several ideas that education should be enjoyed by anyone without forgetting where students came from. The idea gradually became an educational concept that was valid until later years. The problems examined in this study include (1) Xaverius's education in the Dutch period (2) What background did van Lith introduce modern education to the Javanese community in the Muntilan region? (3) How did the colonial government respond to the establishment of modern education by van Lith? ? : (4) How is the concept of education of Xaverius College tabun 1900-19422 In writing a research requires a method because the method is a process and procedure taken to obtain a validity in research The research method aims to answer the problems faced in research The method There are four methods used in this research, namely collecting sources, criticizing sources, interpreting sources and writing based on sources in accordance with the facts. the establishment of Xaverius College was constrained by the fact that there were restrictions on subsidies for private schools Over time the policy of limiting subsidies was abolished and Xavmius College received assistance from the Dutch Colonial government The teachers and teachers at Xaverius College were Brother Priests and school alumni who have the necessary skills Subjects at Xaveius College are intended for all students and some are classified according to classification as schools that have questions about the Katolsk religion, Xaverius College always conducts religious celebrations. Students who are not Catholic are not forced to embrace Catholicism.

Abstract

Early education in independent Indonesia become one of the important aspects to foster the spirit of nationalism and promoting the ideals of independence of the Republic of Indonesia. Indonesian government attention newborn and some of the figures revolutionist who realized that education is very important to foster the spirit of nationalism and efforts to create awareness of an independent nation. Based on the subjects of education and new teaching drafted by the Committee of Inquiry Teaching goals and educational foundation and a system of schooling that characterizes to Indonesiaan. Organization of Indonesian Teachers Association, as a teachers Indonesian container that has been since the days of the Dutch East Indies. Since the proclamation of PGRI organization establishes itself as a fighter who helped defend the independence and sovereignty of Indonesia NKRI. This organization is a manifestation of the Indonesian teacher in taking part and responsibility in accordance with his profession as an educator for the independence aspired. The organization therefore seen as a unifier of teachers who are: 1) a unitary, 2) independent, 3) non-political. It is also a tool, a vehicle in the interests of the teachers for their professional development, education in general and devotion to the homeland and the nation. Abstract

This writing aims to broaden the readers' insight where there are still many arguments or opinions about pesantren in Indonesia and find out how the development process of pesantren in Indonesia from the beginning of its emergence. Pesantren is one of the educational institutions that has long existed in Indonesia, some say that at first the pesantren did not originate from Islamic teachings, but there were also some experts who said that pesantren were already from Islamic teachings. Hopefully with this writing can be a teaching for the writer.

Abstract

Citizenship education which is often identified with moral and character education is very interesting to study, especially regarding appropriate learning models to be applied in the learning process. This study aims to provide an argumentative description of civics education as a way of learning morals and character. This research was carried out using a qualitative approach through literature studies. Data analysis focused on data reduction, data display and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that moral and character learning must be carried out by prioritizing critical thinking skills, one of which can be through Habermas' emancipatory questions, that is why civics education must be carried out with a dialogical approach through critical pedagogy so can make realize moral and character actions in accordance with which are expected.

Abstract

Civic Education in higher education is expected to develop reflective, critical, and socially responsible citizens. However, its implementation often remains conventional and less connected to real-life civic experiences. This study aims to describe the current state of Civic Education learning at the university level and identify the need for transformation toward a more collaborative and experiential model. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through non-participatory classroom observations in eight Civic Education classes at Universitas Sriwijaya, supported by lecturer and student questionnaires. Thematic analysis revealed four major issues: limited collaboration with external stakeholders, lecture-dominated teaching methods, minimal use of contextual learning resources, and assignments that lack participatory engagement. These findings highlight a gap between the ideal vision of Civic Education and its practical application. The study underscores the urgency of redesigning Civic Education to emphasize student collaboration, contextual relevance, and experiential learning. It recommends developing innovative learning models that align Civic Education with 21st-century civic challenges and learner needs.

Abstract

Abstract Civic community can be defined as a social organization which is a place where individuals gather because of the same hobbies and common goals. Social organizations can take an active role in social life, including in breaking the spread of covid-19. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of the civic community in an effort to overcome the Covid-19 pandemic. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a case study in the Sel-P community in Palembang City. The results showed that the Palembang City Cell-P community participated in supporting the government's efforts in overcoming the Covid-19 pandemic. What the community does is implementing health protocols in every activity, doing routine exercise every week to strengthen immunity, providing understanding about 3M to community members and carrying out social services by washing worship equipment in various prayer rooms in Palembang city. It is hoped that these various activities will be able to help in overcoming the Covid-19 pandemic. Keywords: Role, Civic community, Covid-19 Abstrak Civic community dapat diartikan sebagai suatu organisasi social kemasyarakatan yang merupakan wadah tempat berkumpulnya Individu baik karena kesamaan hobi maupun kesamaan tujuan. Organisasi social dapat mengambil peran aktif dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat tidak terkecuali dalam memutus penyebaran covid-19. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peran civic community dalam upaya mengatasi pendemi covid-19. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi kasus pada komunitas Sel-P Kota Palembang. Hasil Penelitian menunjukan bahwa komunitas Sel-P Kota Palembang turut berperan serta dalam mendukung upaya pemerintah dalam mengatasi pandemi covid-19. Hal yang dilakukan oleh komunitas tersebut ialah menerapkan protokol kesehatan dalam setiap kegiatannya, melakukan olahraga rutin setiap minggu untuk memperkuat imunitas tubuh, memberikan pemahaman mengenai 3M kepada anggota komunitas serta melakukan bakti social dengan mencuci peralatan ibadah di berbagai mushola yang terdapat dalam kota Palembang. Diharapkan dengan berbagai kegiatan tersebut akan mampu membantu dalam mengatasi pandemi covid-19. Kata Kunci: Peran, Civic community, Covid-19.
