Abstract

Inadequate salary payments such as underpaid employee salaries will result in decreased employee productivity, including maintenance employee in the palm oil plantation. The problem can not be solved carefully if not analyzed the root cause. The purpose of this research is to determine the root causes of the problem of underpaid maintenance employee salaries in the palm oil plantation and the solution. The research was conducted on February 20th –May 27th, 2017 at a palm oil plantation company in East Kalimantan Province. Data analysis was done with Deming's View Process System concept, the 5W + 1H (What, Who, Where, When, Why & How) principles and Five Whys Analysis to search for the root cause of the problem. The result show that the root causes of the problem are: 1) no socialization of the type of maintenance work required in the palm oil plantation; and 2) the field supervisor has less supervision on the work of the foreman. The solutions are socialize to the maintenance foremans on the types of maintenance work required in the palm oil plantation and supervise their work, especially on the aspect of maintenance administration.

Abstract

A company must strive to achieve its goal of creating and maintaining its customers, in the midst of intense business competition. In order to achieve these objectives, the company must meet customer needs in a timely manner in accordance with the wishes of the customer, so that required supplies of goods sufficient to meet those needs. Inventory turnover is a inventory performance indicator. Measurement of performance is done by calculating the turnover ratio of goods (TOR). The purpose of this study is to determine the performance of raw material inventory in the warehouse through the calculation of turnover ratio (TOR). The research was conducted at a manufacturing company, a company producing carton for packaging consumer products, located in Bekasi District. The object of research is the raw material used to make carton packaging, which is as much as 18 (eighteen) types. The data used are initial inventory status data, raw material data entering warehouse and raw material usage for three months (January - March 2017). The results showed that the performance of raw material inventory in the company is very low. This can be seen from the cumulative TOR value for three months (January - March 2017), which only ranged from 0.10 to 4.88 times. While the length of raw material inventory time ranges from 13.11 to 649.45 days.

Abstract

Inventory is a most important activities in the company. Without the supply, the smooth production will be disrupted or resulted in the machine idle. Inventory can be raw materials or sparepart needed by the company. Machine is a production tool used to produce a product. If a component of the machine is damaged or no replacement available, then the machine can not be used and will be idle. Sparepart needs analysis is needed to avoid the occurrence of these conditions. The ABC classification analysis is a way that can be used to determine the priority of sparepart handling so the company can focus on critical sparepart type. The concept of 80-20 or known as Pareto principle is used to plan inventory based on the ABC classification, especially if there are a considerable number of items. The research method used is descriptive analysis method. The research population is all Ball Bearing types which are used in a national steel industry company, which is 159 types. The sample of the research is Ball Bearing for the last 3 (three) years. The results showed that ABC classification based on usage value was A class of 37 types of Ball Bearing, B class of 44 types and C class of 78 types. The ABC classification results based on the number of usage indicates that only 1 type of Ball Bearing is classified as A, BEARING,BALL,D15/35X11MM-6202-Z, while B class has 10 types and C class there are 26 types.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the optimal transportation of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) of palm oil using the Saving Matrix. The first step in the use of Saving Matrix method is to identify the distance matrix between palm oil mill (POM) with a main assembly point of bunch harvested (TPH) in division and the distance between each main TPH. A savings from two different routes that can be calculated after an unknown distance matrix. Based on the saving matrix then the next step is to consolidate the load, which allocates the load of main TPH to the vehicle and route. Allocation or merger is done with the greatest distance maximize saving by considering the capacity of the vehicle. The next step is to sort these visits to get the shortest travel distance that can be reached. The results of this study indicate that the use of saving matrix method in determining the transportation route for TBS can provide significant saving in each week.

Abstract

This research will discusses the comparative performance of palm oil plantations in Indonesia and Malaysia. As a major supplier of crude palm oil (CPO) in the world, Indonesia and Malaysia continue to develop palm oil plantation management system. The management system is done will determine the performance of the industry. This research was conducted based on data macro from industry palm oil plantations in Indonesia and Malaysia. The performance will be compared is the growth of the planting area, the harvested area, CPO production, land productivity, domestic consumption, export of CPO and CPO price in the international market during the period 2000 – 2015. The data processing is done by mathematical methods and the results will be analyzed analytical-descriptive. The results showed that the performance of the development of planted area, harvested area and export of CPO, Indonesia is better than Malaysia, while the growth performance of domestic consumption, land productivity and the CPO price in the international market, Malaysia is better than Indonesia.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the level of accuracy of the Black Bunch Cencus (BBC) method and the production forecasting method which be combined by seasonal index. The same data is calculated by using both methods. This study uses primary data, ie data taken at the block 06 which be planted 2000, in which samples were taken from each block as much as 10% of the total of tree for calculation of the BBC, while for production forecasting uses only the total of tree on the block. The result of the calculation will be compared against the actual production. Based on the calculation that the production forecasting method provide a more accurate result than the BBC method. Thus methods should be used to calculate the estimated production is the production forecasting method.

Abstract

This research discusses the more realistic formulation of harvested quality effectiveness (HQE) and fruit collection index (FCI) and its use as an indicator of palm oil harvesting performance. HQE and FCI that have been formulated previously no longer applicable because of some changes in the paradigm of harvesting system of harvested fruit palm oil. The purpose of this research is to explain how to formulate HQE and FCI as well as its benefit for palm oil plantation industry. This research is a quantitative and quantitative analysis, which is a scientific study to formulate the model of HQE and FCI. The data were collected by literature study and observation. The discussion is done through descriptive analysis, ie explanation about HQE and FCI and how to use it on assessment of palm oil harvesting performance. The result showed that the formulation of HQE and FCI can be done by taking into account the current FFB grading system and taking into account the fruits composition to FFB. Both can be used to measure the palm oil harvesting performance at the estate and compare them with the quality of raw materials received at the palm oil mill.

Abstract

PT Yasunli Utama Abadi Plastik is a manufacturing company engaged in the plastics injection. The company has a finished goods warehouse as part responsible for controlling the products. Currently the problem that occurred in the warehouse is not the passage of the working principles of 5S is on stage Seiketsu and Shitsuke. This study aims to determine the cause of the ineffectiveness of the 5S principles, determine the relationship between the condition of the warehouse that are not compliant with any of the activities of the warehouse, as well as showing losses incurred when the 5S principles are not going well. Analysis was conducted on the causes and consequences of problems that occur. After finding the causes and consequences of these problems will be tested on the relationship between the causes with their effects, as well as prove any harm to the company if the principles of 5S is not going well. The results showed that the factors causing the ineffectiveness of 5S principles are human and there is a relationship which had a negative impact among warehouse conditions incompatible with the standard warehouse activities, so that the company suffered losses during the 5S principles are not going well.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of CSR is actually carried out by PT. Incasi Raya Pangian the relevant stakeholders as a form of social responsibility. The CSR program has been ongoing since the first until now and has provided many benefits to the local community. Based on the problems studied in this research is how the implementation of CSR and the perceived benefits of the program in the public. The study was conducted through qualitative descriptive approach. Data collected on natural conditions, primary and secondary data sources, and data collection techniques used include interviews, documentation, observation, surveys and literature. Results from this study showed that implementation of CSR in the environment surrounding the company provides excellent benefits for the company and surrounding communities. Implementation of CSR carried out in the public has been going pretty well. Surrounding communities are satisfied for what he has given the company, but there are some things that still need improvement in planning and implementation. Positive perception of the CSR programs of social and environmental areas of the company, which is evidenced by the great expectations of the company's CSR programs to be better and wider benefits for the future.

Abstract

Effectiveness is a measure of the comparison of the quantity of product produced over a period of time to a theoretical capacity, which shows the productivity of the machine. The success of the maintenance system with this TPM can be measured using Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), which will show how capable a machine is to produce a quality product compared to the must. The purpose of this research was to determine the OEE value of bondeck production machine. This research was conducted in January – March 2018 in a manufacturing company located in Bekasi. The research population is the entire production on the machine, while the sample is production during January – March 2018. Data collection is done by means of observation, interview and company document tracking. Data processing is done with the Nakajima formula. The result of the research showed that the OEE value of the bondeck production machine was 53.29% in January; 48.23% in February; and 58.88% in March. This means that the company is only able to produce products from these machines, about half of the total product they are supposed to.
