Abstract

All universities that are forced to conduct online learning due to pandemic era greatly affects the interpersonal conditions of students. This changing also influences student’s performance quality. The paper presents a descriptive quantitative which aims to explore: 1) differences in self-regulated learning between cumlaude and non-cumlaude students, 2) differences in learning motivation between cumlaude and non-cumlaude students, 3) correlations of self-regulated learning, learning motivation, and achievement in cumlaude students, and 4) correlation of self-regulated learning, learning motivation, and achievement in non-cumlaude students. The data collection technique used a questionnaire technique with instruments in the form of a self-regulated learning and learning motivation questionnaire, both of which were adapted questionnaires. The data obtained were then analyzed using the free sample t test and correlation test using the SPSS program. The results obtained indicate that: 1) there are differences in self-regulated learning between cum laude and non-cum laude students, 2) there are differences in learning motivation between cum laude and non-cum laude students, 3) there is a correlation between self-regulated learning, learning motivation, and achievement in cum laude students, and 4) there is no correlation between self-regulated learning, learning motivation, and learning outcome in non-cumlaude students.

Abstract

Learning assessment in Vocational High Schools (SMK) plays a crucial role not only in measuring academic achievement but also in evaluating students’ readiness for the workforce. However, assessment practices at SMK Negeri 8 Palangka Raya still face several challenges, including the dominance of summative assessment, limited use of authentic instruments, and restricted application of technology as mandated by the Merdeka Curriculum. These conditions have resulted in low-quality learning outcome data and less effective remedial strategies. To address these issues, a community service program was carried out in the form of an educational seminar. The program was designed in three stages: preparation (needs analysis, development of materials, and evaluation tools), implementation (seminar sessions and interactive discussions on formative, authentic, and Higher Order Thinking Skills/HOTS-based assessment), and evaluation (a teacher satisfaction survey). Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed descriptively. The evaluation results showed an average teacher satisfaction rate of 90,38%, with most indicators scoring ≥92,00%, particularly in material relevance, delivery methods, interactivity, and team professionalism. The lowest scores (84,62%) were found in time adequacy, classroom application of seminar results, and the program’s contribution to solving classroom problems, indicating the need for further support. These findings confirm that the program was effective in strengthening teachers’ competence in learning assessment, although follow-up strategies such as in-depth workshops and practical mentoring are necessary to optimize implementation.

Abstract

The Training on Developing Chemistry Experiment Procedures Based on the Surrounding Environment for Chemistry MGMP Teachers in Palangka Raya City aims to address the limited implementation of laboratory practices in schools due to inadequate facilities and the high cost of chemical reagents. The activity was conducted on June 21, 2025, involving 35 teachers, 8 lecturers, and 7 students, divided into two sessions: a material delivery session (in the lecture hall) and a practical session (in the Chemistry Education Laboratory, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, UPR). The main objective of this community service program (PKM) is to increase teachers’ motivation to innovate in laboratory practices and to enhance their skills in designing experimental procedures using alternative materials from the surrounding environment. During the training, various examples of chemistry experiments were demonstrated, utilizing easily accessible and inexpensive materials as substitutes for reagents. The activity concluded with an independent assignment for teachers to design environmentally based experiments. Overall, this program successfully introduced practical and sustainable solutions to improve the quality and frequency of chemistry laboratory practices in schools. Evaluation results showed that the partner teachers (chemistry subject teachers) demonstrated strong motivation and were able to develop experimental designs by utilizing materials from the surrounding environment.
