Abstract

Model discovery learning merupakan pembelajaran penemuan untuk mengarahkan mahasiswa dapat menentukan sesuatu melalui proses pembelajaran sehingga terbiasa menjadi sainstis. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan Pemahaman Konsep Sistem Periodik Unsur Hasil Pembelajaran Menggunakan Model Discovery Learning pada Mahasiswa Semester IV Program Studi Pendidikan Kimia Tahun Ajaran 2016/2017. Penelitian ini melibatkan 47 mahasiswa. Data hasil pemahaman konsep mahasiswa ditelusuri melalui pemberian tes tertulis berbentuk essay terhadap mahasiswa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model discovery learning. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Pemahaman mahasiswa tentang Sistem Periodik unsur hasil pembelajaran menggunakan model discovery learning adalah (1) pemahaman konsep mahasiswa dalam menjelaskan kecendrungan jari-jari atom unsur seperiode atau segolongan dalam sistem periodik unsur sebelum pembelajaran sebanyak 51,06% mahasiswa tidak memiliki pemahaman dan setelah pembelajaran sebanyak 89,35%, terjadi perubahan pemahaman konsep, dan sebanyak 38,29% tidak mengalami perubahan pemahaman; (2) menjelaskan kecenderungan energi ionisasi suatu unsur dalam sistem periodik unsur adalah sebesar 29,79%, hasil pembelajaran sebesar 63,89% terjadi perubahan pemahaman konsep dan 19,15% tidak mengalami perubahan pemahaman konsep. Terjadi perubahan pemahaman konsep sebesar 42,55%; (3) menjelaskan kecenderungan afinitas elektron suatu unsur dalam sistem periodik unsur berdasarkan data hasil percobaan sebelum pembelajaran sebanyak 44,68% tidak dapat mengurutkan dan menjelaskan kecenderungan afinitas elektron berdasarkan hasil percobaan dan setelah pembelajaran sebanyak 70,22% mampu membuktikan mengurutkan dan menjelaskan kecenderungan afinitas elektron; (4) menjelaskan kecenderungan keelektronegatifan suatu unsur dalam sistem periodik unsur berdasarkan data hasil percobaan sebelum pembelajaran sebanyak 44,68% mahasiswa tidak dapat mengurutkan dan menjelaskan kecenderungan keelektronegatifan, setelah pembelajaran sebanyak 75,86% mampu membuktikan mengurutkan dan menjelaskan kecenderungan keelektronegatifan.

Abstract

Measuring air retention in constructed canal blockage is critical for determining changes in air content after canal blocking. The purpose of this study is to assess the influence of changes in levels on air retention values measured at three depths, namely 0-20 cm, 20-40 cm, and 40-60 cm, at four transect sampling stations created at a distance of 10 m to 260 m from the canal block. Changes in bulk density, porosity, and peat volume affect groundwater. Peat soil samples were collected from burned peatlands, and canal blocks were constructed. A pressure plate chamber was used to assess air retention. The findings of the investigation revealed that the air retention pattern of peat soil at 16 test sample locations was at maximum at PF 0.2 at each depth. At higher pressures (pF 2-4.2), peat groundwater is strongly bonded by peat soil particles. The average bulk density of peat is 0.2 2 and the porosity value is 86.79%. The higher the air content at each pF value has no influence on the porosity and bulk density values. Changes in air content between pF 2.0 and 4.2 lower average peat volume by 7.4%. The size of this value is assumed to be determined by the peat's type, maturity, and decomposition value.

Abstract

The purpose of implementing the Workshop on the Use of the MolView Application in Chemistry Education at SMA Negeri 5 Palangka Raya is to enable partner teachers (chemistry subject teachers) to facilitate students in visualizing molecular structures using the MolView application. The benefits of this activity include increasing insights and providing skills in developing teaching modules assisted by the MolView application in chemistry education. The stages of the workshop include 1) preparation stages, including field surveys, planning, administrative preparation, and providing support facilities; 2) training stages, including confirming attendance, Phase I training, Phase II training; 3) mentoring stages, including evaluation and participant support. The results of this activity can be reviewed based on participant satisfaction. This is evident from the questionnaire results filled out by the participants. In the workshop material aspect, the average score is 93.33%. The Team workshop aspect has an average score of 96.00%, the atmosphere aspect has an average score of 96.00%, and the media usage aspect has an average score of 93.78%. Furthermore, the overall satisfaction level of the workshop averages 94.78% with a "Very Satisfied" category. Therefore, it can be concluded that this training is highly significant and beneficial, and it is expected to continue for the benefit of other teachers in the future.
