Abstract

Search Engines are used to search any information on the internet. The primary objective of any website owner is to list their website at the top of all the results in Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs). Search Engine Optimization is the art of increasing visibility of a website in Search Engine Result Pages. This art of improving the visibility of website requires the tools and techniques; This paper is a comprehensive survey of how a Search Engine (SE) works, types and parts of Search Engine and different techniques and tools used for Search Engine Optimization (SEO.) In this paper, we will discuss the current tools and techniques in practice for Search Engine Optimization.

Abstract

In this study, several types of probability distributions were used to fit the daily torrential rainfall data from 15 monitoring stations of Peninsular Malaysia from the period of 1975 to 2007. The study of fitting statistical distribution is important to find the most suitable model that could anticipate extreme events of certain natural phenomena such as flood and tsunamis. The aim of the study is to determine which distribution fits well with the daily torrential Malaysian rainfall data. Generalized Pareto, Lognormal and Gamma distributions were the distributions that had been tested to fit the daily torrential rainfall amount in Peninsular Malaysia. First, the appropriate distribution of the daily torrential rainfall was identified within the selected distributions for rainfall stations. Then, data sets were generated based on probability distributions that mimic a daily torrential rainfall data. Graphical representation and goodness of fit tests were used in finding the best fit model. The Generalized Pareto was found to be the most appropriate distribution in describing the daily torrential rainfall amounts of Peninsular Malaysia. The outputs can be beneficial for the purpose of generating several sets of simulated data matrices that mimic the same characteristics of rainfall data in order to assess the performance of the modification method compared to classical method.

Abstract

Basically, multi processes and activities involve in the piping construction (PC) projects needs to be followed before the project is handed over to the customer or client, called multi-project construction environment (MPCE). In PC, the MPCEs exist where more than one project is managed simultaneously within an organization become as a common phenomenon faced by managers that highly possible to face with uncertainty issues, lead to project completion late delivery (PCLD). Dealing with uncertainty in MPCE is a common, though managing uncertainty in PC become more complicated rather that others industry. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to develop the simulation logic model to deal with the uncertainty for PC projects that focused on environmental issues (EI). This result will be proceed for uncertainty model development in the next phase of this research. The simulation logic model development began with qualitative data collection towards the case study, to get all the activities throughout the water supply company. Then, the business model is developed with 14 activities before integrated with the uncertainty factors in EI. The integration of business model and uncertainty factors generated the simulation logic model as main contribution. Once the uncertainty model completely developed, it will provide a medium for PC that confront with MPCE to monitor the uncertainties and prepared to encounter any matters in future. Therefore, it is important to pursue in providing the PC company to all inclusive-model, and helping them in managing and tackling the uncertainty, especially for EI.

Abstract

A Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) refers to a dynamic and wireless network, which can be designed without an existing infrastructure as every node serves as a router. A MANET is a self-configuring system of mobile nodes that are connected wirelessly. Every node serves as a sink, as well as a router to send packets. The movement of the nodes is not restricted as they can move in any direction, and they have the ability to get organized into a network. Due to their free and independent movement, they do not have a fixed position; they often change positions. In this study, the Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) and Ad-hoc On Multipath Demand Distance Vector (AOMDV) protocols are compared using Network Simulator NS2.35. DSR is a reactive gateway discovery algorithm whereby the connection of a MANET mobile device is established only on demand. Basically, AOMDV was specially tailored for ad-hoc networks that are highly dynamic to respond to link failures and breakages in the network. It ensures that the paths for destinations are sustained, and it defines the new routing information using destination serial numbers to ensure loop freedom always while avoiding problems. More so, it is a protocol that is based on a timer that can discover ways through which the mobile nodes respond to link breakages and change in topology. A comparison of protocols has been carried out individually and jointly with the aim of evaluating their performance. The performance is measured in terms of End-to-End Delay, Packet Delivery Ratio, Packet Loss Ratio, and Routing Overhead Ratio. The performance of the routing protocols was done using two scenarios; when there is a change in the simulation time and when there is a change in the number of nodes.

Abstract

Internet of Things (IoT) is a network of connected and communicating nodes. Recent developments in IoT have led to advancements like smart home, industrial IoT and smart healthcare etc. This smart life did bring security challenges along with numerous benefits. Monitoring and control in IoT is done using smart phone and web browsers easily.  There are different attacks being launched on IoT layers on daily basis and to ensure system security there are seven basic security requirements which must be met. Here we have used these requirements for classification and subdivided them on the basis of attacks, followed by degree of their severity, affected system components and respective countermeasures. This work will not only give guidelines regarding detection and removal of attacks but will also highlight the impact of these attacks on system, which will be a decision point to safeguard  system from high impact attacks on priority basis.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is one of the deadliest infectious disease in the world. TB is caused by a type of tubercle bacillus called Mycobacterium Tuberculosis. Early detection of TB is pivotal to decrease the morbidity and mortality. TB is diagnosed by using the chest x-ray and a sputum test. Challenges for radiologists are to avoid confused and misdiagnose TB and lung cancer because they mimic each other. Semi-automated TB detection using machine learning found in the literature requires identification of objects of interest. The similarity of tissues, veins and small nodules presenting the image at the initial stage may hamper the detection. In this paper, an approach to detect TB, that does not require segmentation of objects of interest, based on ensemble deep learning, is presented. Evaluation on publicly available datasets show that the proposed approach produced a model that recorded the best accuracy, sensitivity and specificity of 91.0%, 89.6% and 90.7% respectively.
