Abstract

The purpose of this research was to nknow the level of breeder innovation adoption in broiler chicken livestock and factors influencing innovation adoption in broiler chicken livestock in district Bajubang of Batang Hari regency. The research method was survey. Sample location was choosen by purposive sampling based on breeder broiler chicken. The respondent were choosen by sensus. Thurstone scale method was used to know the breeder innovation adaption level in broiler chicken livestock.Multiple linier regression analysis was used to know the factors influence innavation adoption level. The result shown that innovation adoption level in district Bajubang of Batang Hari regency is high level (89,62%). Multiple linier regression analysis shown that factor influencing innovation adoption levelwas breeder age. Factors not real influence was education level, family size, cattle farm exprience, the number of cattle and income  The conclusion was innovation adoption level in broiler chicken livestock in district Bajubang of Batang Hari regency influenced by breeder age.

Abstract

 The survey method was used to conduct this study through 180 cow farmers in three Regencies (merangin, Muaro Jambi and West tanjung Jabung) in Jambi Province. Samples of farmer were choised as the Simple Random sampling. Results of this study showed that farmer interest to rare cows within palm oil plantatition area in Jambi Province looked high with the interest value of 82.24% and the motivation of farmer to grow cow was medium with the value of 77.56%.  The analysis of multiple linear regression indicated that interest and motivation can be explained together with variable measured (area, the age of oil palm tree, farmer experience, livesock enterprise scale, income, the amount of family member and group activity). The interest and motivation value of farmer to grow cow were 37 and 45.20% respectively. The F test showed that the regression model could be usedto predict interest and motivation of farmer to grow cows as the level of significant of less than 0.05. There was highly significant effect between group activity and motivation and significant effect between age of tree, farmer experience, and group activity with farmer interest and motivation.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the marketing channels, margins, and marketing efficiency of duck eggs in Air Hangat District, Kerinci Regency. This research was motivated by the marketing condition in which long distribution chains cause farmers to receive a lower share of the selling price. The study used a survey method with a census approach involving the entire population of duck farmers and duck egg traders as respondents. The data consisted of both primary and secondary data. Primary data were obtained through direct interviews with farmers and traders regarding production quantity, buying and selling prices of duck eggs, and the income earned. Secondary data were collected from related institutions and previous studies. Data analysis was conducted using marketing margin, farmer’s share, and marketing efficiency calculations. The results showed that there were two marketing channel patterns: (1) farmer → consumer, and (2) farmer → collector → retailer → consumer. The total marketing margin was IDR 1,172.49 per egg, with farmer’s share values of 100% and 65.77% for each channel, respectively. The marketing efficiency values were 0% for channel I and 3.07% for channel II. These findings indicate that channel I is the most efficient and provides greater benefits to farmers. It is recommended that farmers utilize shorter marketing channels or sell directly to consumers to increase their income.

Abstract

The lack of knowledge of housewives about selecting safe, healthy, whole, and halal (ASUH) meat makes unscrupulous traders take the opportunity to commit fraud. The ASUH concept emphasizes that beef must be free from dangerous contaminants (safe), have beneficial nutritional content (healthy), not mixed with other parts or other animals (whole), and processed according to Islamic law (halal). This study aims to determine the knowledge of housewives about Safe, Healthy, Whole, and Halal (ASUH) beef and analyze the influence of age, education, number of family members, income, and opportunity to obtain information on knowledge about ASUH beef. The research method used is a survey with a quantitative approach. The results of this study indicate that the knowledge of housewives in Alam Barajo District is categorized as high, this can be seen from the majority of housewives knowing about ASUH beef. The conclusion of this study is that the majority of housewives in Alam Barajo District have a good understanding of the concept of ASUH beef. Income factors and opportunities to obtain information influence knowledge about ASUH beef.
