Abstract

Koto Petai Village is one of the villages near Lake Kerinci, especially in Danau Kerinci District, fishing activities in Koto Petai are carried out in the morning and evening according to the fishing gear used by the local community. The fishing gears found in Koto Petai village are tangkul / pesap, gill nets, nets, stick charts and traps.The aims of this study was to determine the differences in the catch of tilapia and to determine the composition of the catch in the form of weight, number and type of fish caught against the soaking time of the traps.The research method used is the experimental fishing method and the data analysis used in this study was a completely randomized design analysis (CRD). The results of the analysis of variance show that soaking time treatment had a doesn’t significant effect on the average weight to the whole catch,Meanwhile, the catch of tilapia does not significantly affect the immersion time and result of Duncan test showed that the weight of the catch of immersion for 8 hours10 hours and for 12 hourswas not significantly different (P >0.05) .Based on research that has been done inconclude that long ago soaking iron fish trap for 8 hours resulting in a more optimal catch the most caught fish is tilapia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the satisfaction level of Jambi University alumni employers and aspects of higher education services that must be optimized to increase Jambi University alumni job satisfaction. The research method used is a survey method with a sampling technique that is Stratified Random Sampling, each strata is selected one sampling unit with a simple random sampling technique. Measurement of qualitative variables using a questionnaire in the form of questions with Summated Rating's Scala Likert which was tested for validity and reliability. Aspects of satisfaction analysis include: Integrity (ethics and morals), Expertise in the field of science (main competence), Broadness of insight between disciplines, Leadership, Teamwork, Foreign language skills, Communication skills, Use of information technology, and self-development. To analyze the determinants of the level of satisfaction of the Jambi University alumni employer used Path Analysis. The overall satisfaction index of Jambi University alumni is still lacking with a score of 73.78 or C. Then, the satisfaction index of Jambi University alumni who work in Government agencies (Provincial and Regency/City Governments) is still lacking with a value of 73.50 or C. Furthermore the satisfaction index of Jambi University alumni who work in companies (Private, BUMN, Foundation) is still lacking with a score of 74.76 or C. The ability of Jambi University alumni who work in government agencies and companies to solve problems is the biggest or most decisive factor on employer satisfaction Jambi University alumni.

Abstract

Sadu District is located in East Tanjung Jabung Regency and consists of 9 villages, one of which is Sungai Jambat Village which is characterized by turbid, wavy, muddy, and sandy waters. The majority of fishermen in Sungai Jambat Village use bottom gillnet fishing gear with a mesh size of 3.5 inches and 4 inches. The purpose of this study was to compare the catches of bottom gillnet with mesh sizes of 3.5 inches and 4 inches in the waters of Sungai Jambat Village. The method used in this research is the experimental fishing method. The data collected includes environmental parameters, catch per species (head), and number of catches (head), weight per species (kg), and the total weight of catch (kg). The data analysis used is the descriptive analysis of an independent sample t-test. The results showed that the 3.5-inch mesh treatment was significantly higher than the 4-inch mesh treatment (p<0.05) in terms of the number and weight of bottom gillnet catches. In the 3.5-inch mesh size, the catch was 3,067 individuals with a weight of 248.40 kg, and the number of catches in the 4-inch mesh size was 2,820 individuals with a weight of 234.60 kg. The highest number of catches was leaftail croaker found in a 3.5-inch mesh size of 1,393 individuals, and mantis shrimp was the heaviest catch in a 3.5-inch mesh size weighing 69 kg. Pomfret is the lowest catch in terms of quantity and weight. The conclusion of this study in terms of the number and weight of catches with a 3.5-inch mesh size is higher than the 4-inch mesh size

Abstract

This study aims to determine the profile of short-chain fatty acids (SCFA) and medium-chain fatty acids (MCFA) in goat milk-fed pineapple peel silage.  The pineapple waste was milled and mixed with 5% (w/w) of rice brand, put into an anaerobic plastic bag, and stored for 21 days to produce pineapple peel silage.  The materials used in this research were 12 female Etawa cross-breed dairy goats allocated into randomized block designs with four kinds of feed treatments and three groups of lactation periods.  The feed treatments were P0 (60% forage + 40% concentrate); P1 (30% forage + 30% pineapple peel silage + 40% concentrate); P2 (15% forage + 45% pineapple peel silage + 40% concentrate); P3 (60% pineapple peel silage + 40% concentrate). Forage contains native grass and rubber leaves.  The concentrate consists of 58% bran, 25% fine corn, 6% soybean meal, 9% coconut meal, 1% mineral mixture, and 1% salt.  The variables observed were feed consumption, fat milk, and short-chain and medium-chain milk fatty acids.  The data obtained were analyzed using ANOVA, and if there were differences between treatments, a Duncan test.  The result of this study showed that the use of pineapple peel silage as a forage source had affected the feed consumption (P<0.05) but did not significantly affect SCFA acid and MCFA profile (P> 0.05) in goat milk.  Using pineapple peel silage as forage replacement up to 45 % in Fed, the dairy Ettawa cross-breed (EC) goat’s diet significantly affects the short-chain and medium-chain fatty acids profile.  The content of short-chain fatty acids and medium-chain fatty acids in goat's milk decreases, and there is no musty smell due to the addition of pineapple peel silage in the feed.

Abstract

Penelitian ini betujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan lama perendaaman terhadap hasil tangkap kepiting bakau yang efektif untuk alat tangkap bubu lipat di Kelurahan Kampung Laut. Materi penelitian ini adalah kepiting bakau yang diperoleh dari hasil tangkapan bubu lipat dan umpan belut. Metoda yang digunakan adalah experimental fishing dan proposife sampling. Data yang dihimpun meliputi parameter lingkungan, jumlah total hasil tangkapan, ukuran hasil tangkapan. Uji beda rata-rata digunakan untuk mengetahui suhu permukaan air selama penelitian. Analisis data yang digunakan ialah analisis deskriptif uji Independent sampel t-test. Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa adanya perebedaan hasil tangkapan kepiting Bakau dimana lama perendaman 4 jam lebih banyak yaitu sebesar 40 ekor dibandingkan lama perendaman 6 jam yaitu hanya 23 ekor. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah hasil tangkapan kepiting Bakau dengan lama perendaman 4 jam mendapatkan hasil yang lebih banyak dibandingkan hasil tangkapan lama perendaman 6 jam

Abstract

Background: Buffalo meat contains 18.7% protein, has a darker color than beef, buffalo fat is whiter with lower meat fat content, meat texture is tough, has larger, coarser, and denser fibers. Pineapple pith contains bromelain enzyme, a source of vitamin C which functions as an antioxidant and high fiber content.  Marinating buffalo meat in pineapple pith extract is done to improve the physical quality of the meat. Purpose: The purpose of this research was to study the effect of marinating buffalo meat in pineapple pith extract on pH value, water holding capacity, and cooking loss. Methods: This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replicates. The treatments were buffalo meat without marinating in pineapple pith extract (P0), buffalo meat with marinating in pineapple pith extract for 15 min (P1), 30 min (P2), 45 min (P3), and 60 min (P4). The concentration of pineapple stem extract was 20% (v/v). The data were analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA). Results: The results showed that the treatment did not significantly (P>0.05) affect the pH value, water holding capacity and cooking loss. The range of pH values obtained was 5.82-6.19, water holding capacity was 20.14%-24.86%, and cooking loss was 35.82%-39.77%, with the average pH values, water holding capacity, and cooking shrinkage were 5.94, 21.95%, and 38.66%, respectively. Conclusion: Marinating buffalo meat in pineapple pith extract at 20% concentration for up to 60 minutes did not change the pH value, water holding capacity and cooking loss.
