Abstract

This study investigates the impact of scholarships on student achievement at the Faculty of Education, State University of Surabaya. The research aims to describe the academic achievement of scholarship recipients, analyze their activities while receiving scholarships, examine the relationship between scholarship effectiveness and academic achievement, identify determinant factors influencing these relationships, and delineate academic criteria for scholarship eligibility. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative conversations with students, parents, administrators, and scholarship program managers, and quantitative surveys of scholarship recipients and non-recipients. Surveys were administered through paper and electronic questionnaires to students in the Faculty of Economics and Business and the Faculty of Engineering. The findings are expected to provide systematic policy recommendations for determining scholarship amounts and emphasize the need for structured scholarship advice and counseling. The study holds significant implications for understanding the role of scholarships in enhancing student performance and guiding future scholarship programs, ultimately leading to improved graduation rates, grade point averages, and employability skills among scholarship recipients.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising of non-academic programs in realizing student achievement (multi-site study at SMP Kemala Bhayangkari 6 Surabaya and SMP Wachid Hasyim 1 Surabaya). The main focus of the study is how the planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising of non-academic programs in realizing student achievement at SMP Kemala Bhayangkari 6 Surabaya and SMP Wachid Hasyim 1 Surabaya, the approach used is a qualitative approach with a case study type., the presence of researchers in the middle of the research setting is a must, because researchers in a qualitative study are key instruments for capturing meaning, as well as data collection tools, in this case the researcher will go as far as possible directly to collect the desired data at two sites, namely SMP Kemala Bhayangkari 6 Surabaya and SMP Wachid Hasyim 1 Surabaya. The type of data used in collecting data, researchers are directly related to the source, such as conducting interviews, observing, listening, interpreting, and analyzing. The results of the study show that effective management plays a very important role in fostering students' interests and talents through extracurricular activities. Teachers and mentors play a central role as motivators, facilitators, guides, and evaluators, regularly monitoring and providing feedback to improve students' non-academic achievements. Abstract

This study examines the implementation of deep learning as a strategy to improve the quality of learning at SMA Negeri 1 Lobalain and SMA Negeri 2 Lobalain, Rote Ndao Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. Using a qualitative approach with a multi-site case study design, this research focuses on the principal's strategic management in the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of deep learning. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and document study, The findings indicate that the success of deep learning implementation is largely determined by the principal's strategic management encompassing vision-mission setting, teacher capacity building, academic supervision, infrastructure provision, and continuous evaluation. Key supporting factors include leadership commitment, teacher competence, and collaborative culture, while limited teacher understanding and inadequate infrastructure remain as barriers. This study offers strategic recommendations for schools in disadvantaged, frontier, and outermost regions (3T areas) in implementing deep learning in accordance with Permendikdasmen Number 13 of 2025.

Abstract

Organizational culture is one of the key factors determining the success of educational institutions, as it influences the behavior, values, and commitment of all school members. This study aims to describe the implementation of organizational culture in fostering students' character development in religion-based junior high schools. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with principals and teachers from two junior high schools. Data analysis was conducted using the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that organizational culture is built upon religious values, character development, discipline, social responsibility, and achievement, which are internalized through leadership role modeling, habitual practices, school programs, and teachers' professional development. Principals play a pivotal role as change agents by conducting supervision, monitoring, evaluation, and providing continuous motivation to all school members. The implementation of organizational culture is supported by effective communication, teachers' commitment, and parental involvement, while challenges arise from differences in family backgrounds, inconsistent implementation of cultural values, and limited resources. The study concludes that a strong organizational culture significantly strengthens character education and contributes to improving overall school quality.

Abstract

Digital transformation in performance management at legal-entity state universities remains constrained by fragmented data, manual document exchange, disconnected SAKIP stages, and limited access to integrated performance information. This study aims to develop an initial prototype of an electronic Government Agency Performance Accountability System for Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA), named SAKINA. Using a research and development approach, the study applied the 4D model limited to the define, design, and develop stages. Data were collected from July 2023 to June 2026 through document review, regulatory analysis, semi-structured interviews, focus group discussions, and work-process observations involving 30 purposively selected informants and 80 institutional, regulatory, and scientific documents. The define stage identified user, functional, non-functional, regulatory, and user-experience requirements. The design stage produced a three-layer architecture, module structure, role allocation, interface specifications, and integrated workflows. The develop stage generated SAKINA version 1.0 using Laravel, PostgreSQL, and Nginx. The prototype includes six module groups covering monitoring, planning, measurement, reporting, evaluation, and supporting documentation. SAKINA integrates indicators, targets, realization data, evidence, evaluation results, and follow-up actions through centralized storage, role-based access, process status, and activity logging. Further testing is required to assess usability, security, acceptance, interoperability, and implementation effects.
