Abstract

An experiment involving the application of organic matters, either fresh or composted, application of bioagent Trichoderma sp. was conducted to suppress basal stem rot caused by S. rolfsii on peanut. The research was conducted at dry land in Amor-Amor North Lombok District with the pump water well system. The experiments were arranged as split plot design with the main plot was pathogen inoculation and non pathogen inoculation. As sub-plot were the addition of organic matters and or addition of bioagent Trichoderma sp. plus two control treatments. Pathogen S. rolfsii applied as fragment mycelia of 1 x 10 6 fragment/ mL with the number of 10 L/plot. Inoculation of the pathogen was conducted when seedlings were about one month old. The bioagent Trichoderma sp. was applied 50 g/plot as powder in the same time of organic matters application (before planting the seeds). The results showed that application of composted organic matters reduced disease incidence 6-10%, while application as fresh organic matters reduced 1-6%. Combination between application of bioagent Trichoderma sp. with fresh and or composted organic matters suppressed disease incidence 8-10% and 8-12% respectively. Application of bioagent alone on planting medium reduced disease incidence 7.5%. Application of composted organic matters with bioagent Trichoderma sp. increased the number of fresh plant biomass 4.93-11.78 kg.

(Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-11 Tahun 2023, Palembang 21 Oktober 2023. (pp. 78-87).  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Sandy soil, which is porous and has a very low water holding capacity, is the main obstacle to increasing soil fertility and the growth of sweet corn plants. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of several types of ameliorants in increasing the growth and uptake of NP nutrients by sweet corn plants in sandy soil. The research was conducted in Moncok Karya, Pejeruk Karya Village, Ampenan District, and Mataram City from May to July 2023. The experiment was arranged using a randomized block design consisting of five ameliorant treatments, namely PO: Control (without ameliorant), PA: rice husk charcoal, PK: compost, PS: cow manure, and PC: a mixture of rice husk charcoal, compost, and cow manure (1:1:1) with a dose of 20 tons/ha. The results showed that the mixture of ameliorant rice husk charcoal, compost, and cow manure had an effect on the height and number of leaves of sweet corn plants at 2, 4, and 6 WAP, stover weight per plant, nutrient uptake, and mycorrhizal development. Application of 20 tons per ha of mixed ameliorant increased plant height, number of leaves, the concentration of available P, and total N in the soil, N and P uptake by plants, the number of spores and root colonization, and the weight of wet and dry stover plants in sandy soil. Amelioran formulation of a mixture of 25% cow manure + 25% compost + 25% rice husk charcoal provides the highest concentration of soil nutrients, plant nutrient uptake, and growth of sweet corn.

Abstract

Astiko W, Isnaini M, Fauzi MT, Muthahanas I.  2022. Growth of several sweet corn varieties added by bioameliorants. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang  27 Oktober 2022. pp. 88-96. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Sweet corn is one of the most popular food commodities in the community. However, production is still relatively low. The study aimed to determine the concentration and uptake of N and P nutrients, the development of mycorrhizae, and the growth of several varieties of sweet corn added with bioameliorants. The experimental design used was a randomized block design consisting of four treatments of sweet corn varieties, namely P1: Bonanza variety, P2: Ganebo variety, P3: Golden Boy variety, and F4: Exotic Pertiwi variety. The variables observed in this study were: (1) soil nutrient concentration variables and plant nutrient uptake (N and P) at 42 days after planting (dap), (2) growth variables included: plant height and number of leaves at 14, 28, and 42, and weight of wet and dry root and shoot at 42 dap, and (3) mycorrhizal population variables included: number of spores and percentage of root infection at 42 dap. Observational data were analyzed using analysis of variance followed by the Tukey’s HSD (Honestly Least Significant Difference) test at a significant level of 5%. The results showed that the Golden Boy variety with 25 t ha-1 bioameliorant made from local raw materials gave the highest plant height, number of leaves, wet and dry biomass weight of roots and shoots. While the concentration of total N nutrients, available soil P, plant N and P nutrient uptake, as well as the number of spores, and the highest percentage of mycorrhizal colonization were obtained in the Bonanza F1.

Abstract

This research is important to carry out the learning achievements (CPL) of the mandatory physics education study program in developing 21st century skills, especially science process skills (KPS). Apart from that, the practicum function which is still valid today in the FKIP UMMAT physics education study program has not been able to train KPS students well because the design of practicum activities has not been based on science processes and problem based learning (PBL), causing KPS students to not be able to improve. This research will produce an innovative practicum learning method to improve KPS in a concrete and structured manner. The aim of this research is to design a practical program for the Vibration concept which is outlined in the form of a practical activity sheet (LKPR) and a KPS assessment instrument with the target of improving the science process skills (KPS) of physics education students. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) through the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) process which begins with analyzing problems, needs and solutions; designing LKPR and assessment instruments, then validating and testing on a small scale and evaluating the product for further revision and implementation. The KPS pretest and posttest quantitative data were analyzed using inferential statistics and the normalized gain test to determine the KPS improvement category. Data analysis using the help of Ms. software. Excel and IBM SPSS v.23. It was concluded that the practicum design had the characteristics of applying a problem-based model, oriented towards laboratory investigation activities, using traditional musical instruments and computer-smartphone technology devices through three phases and six stages. The practicum program has had a significant impact in increasing student KPS which shows a significant increase in all aspects of KPS. Students give positive responses to the practicum program because it can practice science process skills.
