Abstract

ABSTRACTThere have been several researchs conducted on the feed formulation such as (Samuel Olugbenga .O et al, 2015) linier programing, (F.Zhang W.B.Roush, 2002) mutiple-objective programming, (Brigitta Ayu Kusuma Wardhany et al, 2017) Particle swarm optimization, (Nur Firra Hasjidla et al, 2018) Improved Particle swarm optimization, (I.U. Udo et al, 2011) linier programming, (Thuleswar Nath, 2014) linier programing without interval coefficient. This research is like a Thuleswar Nath research but uses interval data (interval coefficient) so that it requires a interval linear programming model in feed formulation that is the best and the worst case method (M.allohdadi,2012). This research aims to determine parameters and variables of model for feed formulations with a interval linear programming model and calculate the optimum solution to decide the total cost required according to the nutrients needed. The data is processed using the best and the worst case method (interval linear programming) than after that it is optimized using linear programming software. Optimum solution of the worst case is 587.958.1, with the consentrate (x1) 43,52 kg, Corn (x2) 42,41 kg, Rice Bran (x3) 0 kg, Tofu Dregs (x4) 6,43 kg , Cassava Dregs (x5) 7,62 kg. And than optimum solution of the best case is 425.686.6, with the consentrate (x1) 29,62 kg, Corn (x2) 51,02 kg, Rice Bran (x3) 2,51 kg, Tofu Dregs (x4) 6,20 kg , Cassava Dregs (x5) 10,63 kg.

Abstract

Vehicle queues formed in front of the gate of the ticket collection counter at STS Mall can cause problems and queue lengths that can interfere with other traffic movement systems. Therefore, it is very important to review the queuing system at the gate of the parking ticket collection counter at STS Mall. This study aims to examine the queuing system and determine alternatives to improve four-wheeled vehicle queuing services at the ticket collection counter to enter the parking lot at STS Mall. The main data needed in this study are vehicle arrival rates and counter service times. The data were obtained respectively using traffic enumeration methods and sampling observations, which were carried out at the entrance counter of four-wheeled vehicles and carried out on Saturdays and Sundays. The analysis method uses Queue Theory. The results of the analysis show that the number of counters 1 piece is still able to serve the current level of vehicle arrivals which gives a value of n ranging from 0.34 - 0.37 vehicles (( 1 vehicle) , q ranging from 0.08 - 0.06 vehicles (( 1 vehicle), d ranging from 8.2 - 8.6 seconds, and w ranging from 2.1 - 2.5 seconds. At an arrival rate above 600 vehicles / hour are no longer able to be served with the number of counters (N) as much as 1 piece without improving the queuing system

Abstract

Garment industry is a labor-intensive manufacturing sector with a complex production flow, highly susceptible to bottlenecks. Unresolved bottlenecks can lead to decreased efficiency, increased waiting times, and reduced productivity. This research aims to analyze bottlenecks in the garment production process using a simulation approach with ProModel software. The research method was carried out using a quantitative-descriptive approach, starting with production system selection, process flow mapping, and simulation model development and testing. The results of the original model simulation show a production output of 1.719 units, with a bottleneck of 3,86% and a cost of USD 38,01. This situation requires improvement, which was achieved through scenario 1, where production capacity at each location was increased, considering a relatively similar cost of USD 41,40. This change reduced the bottleneck to 0,60%, and total production increased to 1.811 units. In scenario 2, with a similar cost, the author recommended further adjustments to the production capacities at the required processes. After conducting the simulation, total production increased to 1.908 units, with a cost of USD 41,42. The simulation using ProModel proved effective in systematically identifying and evaluating bottleneck solutions. This research provides practical recommendations for garment industry management in making data-driven decisions to improve production efficiency. keyword: Bottleneck; Garment Industry; Simulation; ProModel; Production Efficien

Abstract

Drawn textured yarn is one of the production outputs of the Vocational Training Center at Politeknik Enjinering Indorama, a partner of PT Indorama Synthetics Tbk. In its production process at the Vocational Training Center of Politeknik Enjinering Indorama, product defects are still encountered. To reduce product defects, the Six Sigma method with DMAIC approach is employed. For companies prioritizing product quality, quality control over the products must be conducted. This can manage and control the number of rejected or damaged products that could potentially harm the company's reputation in the eyes of consumers when the products are marketed.

Abstract

PD.ABC experienced problems with an inefficient production system. This is indicated by the minimum amount of output that can be sent. This becomes a source of problems when there is a large order of dorokdok skin crackers, which cannot be completely filled. Therefore, this research will analyze the factors that become obstacles in the dorokdok skin cracker production system using a system modeling and simulation approach. The conclusion was that in the PD dorokdok skin cracker production system. ABC still lacks workers for the production process. This causes the failure rate in sending dorokdok skin crackers to still exist and losses occur. With 2 operators, the maximum output produced is only 63 pcs/day with costs incurred of Rp. 2,950,000 and the profit obtained is only Rp. 1,260,000 or it could be interpreted that PD.ABC suffered a loss of Rp. 1,690,000. After improvements were made, by adding 3 operators it was seen that the simulation results did not show any failures in the production process flow of dorokdok skin crackers with the maximum output produced being 500 pcs/day, the total costs incurred amounting to IDR 6,850,000 and the profit obtained amounting to IDR 10,000,000 or it could be interpreted as PD.ABC experiencing a profit of IDR 3,150,000. So it can be concluded that the improvements made have been effective by increasing human power thereby increasing PD dorokdok skin cracker production capacity. A B C

Abstract

Improving throughput in production is one of the main challenges in manufacturing systems. This study aims to enhance throughput by using Discrete Event Simulation (DES) combined with the Taguchi optimization technique to identify key factors influencing production performance. The simulation was conducted on a manufacturing production system with three tested factors: X1, X2, and X3, as well as two main responses: throughput (Y1) and bottleneck (Y2). Based on the simulation results, it was found that an increase in factor X3 significantly contributed to throughput improvement, while simultaneously reducing the bottleneck percentage, indicating better efficiency in the production line. For example, in experiment run 7 (X1 = 3, X2 = 0.4, X3 = 0.4), throughput reached 3,525 pieces, with a very low bottleneck percentage of 9.66%. Other simulation results also showed throughput improvements with reduced bottleneck, such as in runs 8 and 9, which had throughput of 3,524 pieces and 2,936 pieces, with bottleneck percentages of 19.66% and 15.66%, respectively, showing more optimal results. The Taguchi optimization technique was used to minimize variability and improve the quality of the production system output. The results of this study indicate that the combination of DES simulation and Taguchi optimization successfully increased production throughput significantly while reducing bottlenecks in the production process. This study contributes to the application of simulation and optimization in improving production efficiency in the manufacturing industry, with the hope that it can be adapted to various types of production systems.

Abstract

One of the biggest challenges faced by garment manufacturing companies is optimizing the distribution of products to improve operational efficiency and minimize costs. Timely and effective distribution is crucial to ensure customer satisfaction and maintain the company's competitiveness. Therefore, efforts need to be made to optimize the distribution system in garment manufacturing companies by utilizing the latest technology, one of which is through simulation approaches. The aim of this research is to apply simulation to optimize the clothing distribution at CV. XYZ and provide recommendations for improving efficiency and reducing distribution costs. To achieve the research objectives, a case related to the distribution system was selected and analyzed in depth, specifically at CV. XYZ. To analyze this case, this research employs a case study strategy focusing on data collection from relevant distribution systems. One of the tools used to describe the distribution process systematically is a flowchart, which provides a visual overview of the sequence and relationships between various stages in the distribution process. The simulation results indicate that the distribution system at CV. XYZ could be improved by increasing the schedule from once to twice, rather than by adding distribution units. In terms of costs, this approach reduces the expenses, with the additional schedule only adding a fuel cost of IDR 46,800,000, while adding units would incur a cost of IDR 615,600,000.
