Abstract

Livestock subsector contributes substantially to the economy of East Java Province. Thisstudy was conducted to identify and mapping the leading livestock subsector in 38 districts/cities inEast Java province based on data GDRB in 2009-2013. The analytical method used is LocationQuotient (LQ), Shift-Share (SS), and Klassen typology. LQ analysis results indicate that the livestocksubsector is a bases sector (LQ>1) in 26 districts/cities and the non base (LQ<1) in 12 districts/cities.SS analysis showed that the growth of the livestock subsector is progressive (SS>0) in 7districts/cities, while in 31 districts/cities is slow (SS<0). Based on analysis Klassen typology thisresearch concluded that the livestock subsector is the leading sector (LQ>1 and SS>0) in 7districts/cities, namely Bojonegoro, Madiun, Mojokerto, Pacitan, Pasuruan, Trenggalek, and Tuban. Key Words: Livestock Subsector, Location Quotient, Shift-Share, Klassen Tipology

Abstract

The effect of applying lactic acid bacteria (LAB) at ensiling on the nutrition and microbial composition in fermentation total mixed ration (TMR) silage was studied under laboratoryconditions. The LAB inoculants consisted of Lactobacillus plantarum (P1) commercial  and two othersLactobacillus  that isolated from local corn leaf (P2 and P3) in experiments with  TMR (11% CP and68% TDN).  The inoculants were applied each at about 106 cfu g. After treatment, the TMR wereensiled in 1 lt anaerobic jars. Six jars per treatment were sampled on days 21. At the end of theexperiment, the silages were subjected to chemical and microbiological parameters, to determinethe nutritive value and contaminant microbes compare with no LAB inoculation. In TMR silages, theLAB inoculants did not affect the nutritive value (dry matter, organic matter, crude protein, extractether, and crude fiber) however its increase LAB population and depress the contaminant microbes(aerob bacteria, yeast, and clostridia). Inoculants P3 from corn leaf seem to have the most potentialin protecting TMR from undesirable microbes.   Key Words: LAB, Chemical and Microbial Composition, TMR, Silage

Abstract

Bahan tambahan pangan pengawet sering ditambahkan dalam olahan daging, sehingga menghentikan, menghambat, menahan, memberikan perlindungan daging dari proses pembusukan. Namun yang ditambahkan adalah BTP sintetis, yang penggunaannya tidak terkontrol dosisnya, sehingga menimbulkan berbagai gangguan kesehatan. Ketahanan pribadi seseorang, yaitu fisik yang sehat, mental yang kuat, pikiran yang jernih dari setiap individu bangsa Indonesia merupakan modal dasar ketahanan nasional Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia. Ibu rumah tangga dalam keluarga merupakan pilar utama dalam mewujudkan keluarga sehat. Ibu bertanggung jawab dalam menyediakan makanan sehari-hari bagi keluarga yang sesuai dengan syariat Islam, yaitu halal dan aman untuk kesehatan keluarga. Diperlukan wawasan yang luas bagi ibu-ibu rumah tangga untuk menyikapi permasalahan ini dengan serius, dan terampil dalam pengolahan produk-produk peternakan, khususnya yang berasal dari daging. Melalui program PPMI UMM, pengabdian dengan tema Aplikasi Bahan Tambahan Pangan Alami dalam Proses Pembuatan Olahan Daging di Tingkat Keluarga, telah dilakukan pelatihan, baik dengan tutorial maupun praktek langsung terhadap ibu-ibu PKK, dengan hasil yang memuaskan, terbukti ibu-ibu mempraktekkan sendiri di keluarga masing-masing, juga untuk dijual sebagai penopang ekonomi keluarga.Kata Kunci : Bahan Tambahan Pangan, Chicken Nugget, Abon, Sate Komoh, Bakso

Abstract

Related to the national development, rural industrialization must be capable of playing its role as a part of agrarian and rural economy transformation. So that it will change gradually into industrial economy. Hence, as a matter of fact, the role and potential of farm-industry as the main activator of the rural Industrialization through its capability of motivating the growth and as a part of the rural economy transformation. And to reach that goal, the additional values from the farm-industry must be created.

Abstract

Increasing food surviving both quality and quantity and genetic engineering by transgenic biotechnology is an appropriate choice must grow in the developing countries. Nevertheless transgenic biotechnology has not only benefit but also risk, both technological and sociological ones. Eliminating these risks, it is necessary to think the strategic policy with the solution for the poor.

Abstract

The development of agriculture still bear on three broad agendas, those are firming of food tenacity, escalation of competitive potency, and farmer's welfare. Those three are not the new agendas in development of agriculture, but parts of president's promise that is unproved yet. Now, agriculture society waits and asks for the realization of what the elected president had promised of caring the agriculture aspect. Care means giving facilities, service, protection, advocate, empowerment, and support to agriculture sector and the farmer. The promises are only ca be realized by a president who has vision on it.

Abstract

Food scurity plays an important role in national development since it creates Indonesian prosperity, there are three parties that should become prosperous through food; those are farmers, distributors and consumers. Food security, defined as food availability, regarding the adequacy and low price, couse farmers prosperity get worst and make Indonesia the biggest net-imperter of food. Many countries have proven that the agricultural developments, including farmers prosperity, are not only determined by technical and economical factors, but also influenced mostly by political factor. political party built by farmers community is the most important way to develop agriculture sector, to buid food security and to improve farmer community's prosperity

Abstract

Global economic, trade, investment and financial sector have opened the market worldwide. Global business rule are being harmonized in some international forums. As result of globalization, there are two important thing i.e. the wider market and the more player  in the global business. This will bring a consequence  that a nation, a company, and a business sector will face a tight competition. To make a higher  competitiveness, there is no other way but making products, including agriculture products, more efficient. There are serious problem faced by Indonesian  agriculture. The problem are that opening up agriculture markets may hurt developing  country-agriculture, and also vulnerable groups within them. Higher and more volatile food prices hurt consumers, while poor farmer may be displayed by imports of cheap food. Indonesian agriculture will stand to lose from economic globalization. Critics of globalization suggest that developing countries  will become less sufficient and more dependent on other countries and that trade will be concentrated in the hand of developed countries.

Abstract

Indonesia menempati peringkat ke 43 dan dari 46 negara dalam Indeks Pencapaian Teknologi,sehingga dikategorikan sebagai adopter country,atau negara yang masih dalam taraf menggunakan teknologi yang diadopsi dari karya bangsa lain.Adopsi iptek karya bangsa lain menyebabkan Indonesia terjebak dalam perangkap ketergantungan teknologi.Rendahnya penemuan teknologi di Indonesia yang 90% penduduknya beragama Islam menunjukkan bahwa ummat Islam belum mengerti benar tentang kitab suci Al-Qur?an .Iptek di dunia Islam dapat bangkit kembali denagn persyaratan,yaitu harus melibatkan ilmuwan muslim yang menyadari tugas kekhalifahannya,penguasa adil yang melahirkan kebijakan-kebijakan bagi tumbuhnya tradisi keilmuwan,para konglomerat muslim yang bersedia membiayai pengembangan iptek,dan masyarakat muslim yang menyadari betapa pentingnya iptek untuk meraih kejayaan di dunia dan akhirat.
