Abstract

This experiment was conducted at Pakuwon Experimental Station with altitude about 450 m above sea level and Latosol type of soil beginning from January until June 2009. It aimed to investigate the effect of light intensity and seedling media on growth of "Sunan" candle nut (R. trisperma) seedling. Split plot design with 4 replications was used in this study. The main plots factor are percentage of light intensity (I) consisted of two levels : I1 (65%) and I2 (100%), and the split plots factor are seedling media (M) consisted of five kinds of media: M1 (50% soil and 50% sheep dung), M2 (50% soil and 50% rice husk), M3 (50% sheep dung and 50% rice husk), M4 (33.3% soil, 33.3% sheep dung, and 33.3% rice husk), and M5 (100% soil). Result showed that: (1) for better growth of R. trisperma seedling suggested to be shaded, and (2) mixed of the 50% soil and 50% sheep dung are the best media for it growth. Abstract

Three types of coconut hybrid, namely Salak Dwarf (SKD) x Tenga Tall (TAT), Salak Dwarf x Sawarna Tall (SAT), and Salak Dwarf x Markamvalley Tall (MVT) were studied in Kotabumi, North Lampung, from July 1994 to March 1995 on Red Yellow Podzolid soil. This trial was conducted to determine the percentage of germination and speed of germination based on hybrid type, seed weight, and mulching. Split-split plot design consisted of three factors with three replications was used for this trial. The first factor as main plot was three levels of hybrid SKD x TAT, SKD x SAT, and SKD x MVT. The second factor as sub plot was three levels of seed weight less 500 g, 501-800 g, and more than 801 g. The third factor as sub-subplot consisting of four levels of mulching 0, 30, 60, and 100 percent. The results showed that SKD x SAT germinated faster than SKD x MVT and SKD x TAT. The germination percentage of SKD x MVT was higher compared to SKD x TAT, but similar to SKD x MVT The germination speed was not affected by seed weight, where the germinating percentage was nuts less than 501 g germinated better than those more than 501 g. Treatment of mulching not significant by influence growth rate of germination but significantly influence the percentage of seednut germination thirty percent of mulching gave the best percentage of seed nut germination.

Abstract

Penelitian di latarbelakangi bahwa adanya hasil belajar siswa yang masih rendah di Sma Negeri 1 Kawali. Adapun rendahnya hasil belajar siswa di sebabkan oleh beberapa faktor diantaranya metode pembelajaran yang guru terapkan kurang tepat, kurangnya media pembelajaran yang guru terapkan dan kurangnya antusias siswa dalam belajar. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini: (1) Perbedaan hasil belajar peserta didik yang menggunakan pendekatan Contextual Teaching And Learning (CTL)   pada pengukuran awal (pre-test) dan pengukuran akhir (post-test). (2) Perbedaan hasil belajar peserta didik yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran Konvensional pada pengukuran awal (pre-test) dan pengukuran akhir (post-test). (3) Perbedaan hasil belajar peserta didik yang menggunakan pendekatan Contextual Teaching And Learning (CTL) dengan hasil belajar peserta didik yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Konvensional pada pengukuran akhir (post-test). Di dalam penelitian ini metode yang digunakan adalah Quasi Eksperimental Design yaitu Nonequivalent Control Group Design.Penelitian ini menghasilkan kesimpulan sebagai berikut: (1) Terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar siswa yang menggunakan pendekatan contextual teaching and learning (CTL) pada pengukuran awal (pretest) dan pengukuran akhir (posttest). (2) Terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar siswa yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran konvensional pada pengukuran awal (pretest) dan pengukuran akhir (posttest). (3) Terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar siswa yang menggunakan pendekatan contextual teaching and learning (CTL) bila dibandingkan dengan hasil belajar siswa yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran konvensional pada pengukuran akhir (posttest).
