Abstract

Growth and biochemical content of medicinal crops are influenced by agroecosystems characteristics . The objective of this research was to determine the optimum shading level and type of fertilizer as sources of nutrition on the growth, yield, and andrographolide content of sambiloto. The experiment used Split Plot Design with basic design of Randomized Complete Block Design arranged with two treatment factors, with three replications. The first factor as the main plot was shading levels, namely without shading, 25% shading, 50% shading, and 75% shading. The second factor as the sub plot was sources of nutrition reprented by type of fertilizer, namely NPK fertilizer, cow stable fertilizer, and compost fertilizer. The result of research indicated that shading level and the kind of nutrition influenced some growth and yield variables such as number of leaves, number of branches, plant height, plant dry weight and simplisia weight, and andrographolide content. Interaction of shading level at 25% and straw compost fertilizer performed best in growth characteristics, while the highest andrographolide content resulted from the treatment combination of 50% shading level and straw compost fertilizer.Keywords: fertilizer,nutrition, shading, andrographolide, Andrographis paniculata

Abstract

Title : The Effect of  Media Various and Concentration of Tofu Waste Fermentation Manure to Growth and Yield of Celery (Apium graveolens L.) by Hydroponic. Celery Apium graveolens L.) is a kind of leave vegetable which has a function to be an aroma addition in vegetables. This plant can grow in upland and low land. The best planting time at the first rain has fallen or the end of rain season. For to get continue yield, celery can cultured by hydroponic with use some plant media. Besides that, organic manure can used for increase plant growth and to get safety product. The aims of this research is to know the effect of the kind of media and manure concentration of tofu waste fermentation to growth and yield of celery plant that is planted in hydroponics media. The research was conducted from August until November 2007, at the Green House in Agriculture Faculty of Sebelas Maret University. The research used Complete Random Design (RAD) in factorial, it consists of two factors with three repeating. The first factor is manure concentration of tofu waste fermentation which consist of 0,00kg/l, 0,25 kg/l, 0,50 kg/l, 0,75 kg/l, 1,00 kg/l, and the concentration of 1,25 kg/l. The second factor is the kind of media which consist of sand media, husk charcoal media, and the mixing of sand and husk charcoal media. The result of the research showed that the use of sand and husk charcoal mixing produces the highest level of plant height, leave number, leave wide, wet and dry weight of straw. The treatment of 1 kg/l manure concentration given the best level of plant height, leaf number, leaf wide, root volume, as well as the weight of wet and dry weight of straw. The best combination for celery plant’s growth and development is in the combined of 1 kg/l manure concentration, with the plant media using the mixing of sand and husk charcoal. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tanggap pertumbuhan beberapa varietas Sorgum manis terhadap cekaman kekeringan. Penelitian meliputi dua tahap, yaitu di laboratorium dan di rumah kaca. Percobaan di laboratorium menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap Faktorial dengan dua faktor dan tiga ulangan. Sedangkan percobaan di rumah kaca menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Lengkap Faktorial juga dengan dua faktor dan tiga ulangan. Hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan sidik ragam pada taraf 5%, dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan taraf 5%. Pada penelitian di laboratorium, semua variabel pengamatan tidak terpengaruh oleh perlakuan polyethylene glycol (PEG-6000). Sedangkan pada penelitian di lapangan, cekaman air dapat menunda saat kemunculan bunga, menghambat penambahan tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, berat brangkasan kering, dan berat biji per malai. Masing-masing varietas memberikan tanggap pertumbuhan yang berbeda terhadap cekaman kekeringan. Varietas Sweet dan Kawali menghasilkan tinggi tanaman yang lebih tinggi daripada varietas Numbu, serta adanya korelasi antara panjang akar kecambah dan panjang akar varietas Sweet.

Abstract

Bawang putih merupakan salah satu komoditas hortikultura yang mempunyaipermintaan cukup tinggi untuk konsumsi di Indonesia. Namun, produksi bawang putihdi Indonesia masih tergolong rendah. Penyebab rendahnya produktivitas adalah kualitasbibit yang rendah. Salah satu usaha dalam meningkatkan produktivitas yaitu denganteknik perbanyakan tanaman secara kultur jaringan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalahmengetahui kombinasi konsentrasi antara IAA dan Paklobutrazol yang tepat dalampenyediaan bibit bawang putih secara kultur jaringan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakanmulaibulan Juli sampai Oktober 2013 di Laboratorium Kultur Jaringan Fakultas PertanianUniversitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acaklengkap (RAL) satu faktor. Perlakuan terdiri dari kombinasi konsentrasi IAA yang terdiriatas 4 taraf yaitu 0, 0,5, 1, 1,5 ppm dan Paklobutrazol yang terdiri atas 5 taraf yaitu 0, 0,5,1, 1,5, 2 ppm. Masing-masing perlakuan diulang 5 ulangan. Media yang digunakanadalah Murashige skoog (MS). Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam dan apabilaterdapat beda nyata maka dilanjutkan dengan DMRT (Duncan’s Multiple Range Test)pada taraf 5%. Variabel yang diamati adalah saat muncul tunas, tinggi tunas, jumlahdaun, saat muncul akar, jumlah akar, dan panjang akar. Hasil penelitian menunjukanperlakuan IAA 0,5 ppm dan paklobutrazol 1 ppm menghasilkan eksplan paling baikdalam keperluan penyediaan bibit bawang putih dalam kegiatan aklimatisasi. Meliputisaat muncul tunas, tinggi tunas, saat muncul akar, jumlah akar dan panjang akar.
