Abstract

To realize available workers with high quality and high competitiveness, health development should be directed to consciousness increasing, desire and ability to live healthy for everybody so that the society’s high health can be realized. The degree of health, education, and economy are the main pillar which have a strong connection with the imrpovement of available workers’ quality, therefore, it is expected that the available workers can be persistent, productive, and able to compete to face all challenge that may be found (Healthy Minister, 2010). For that case, we, as the young generation who are really expected in giving real contribution for realizing a brighter future for Indonesia, should participate in taking concrete actions in developing the concept of “Dusun Siaga Kesehatan”as an effort to develop society life which has high conciousness in healthy life based on cooperation principle and social movement. The aims of this report composing are to know the concept of “Dusun Siaga Kesehatan”as an effort of national healthy development based on society’s healthy and to know the development of “Dusun Siaga Kesehatan”as an effort of national healthy development based on society’s healthy. The typical character of “Dusun Siaga Kesehatan” is appearance of some activities related to readiness of the village to anticipate and to handle the health in the village. The appearance of the good character in the society is because they make it as a habit in their life. “Dusun Siaga Kesehatan” gives a concept of society life which respects deeply the essence of mutual assistance and caring to create a healthy society environment. “Dusun Siaga Kesehatan” involves the whole counrtyside society in the program accomplishing to motivate the social movement in the effort of natioanl health based on society’s health. The development of “Dusun Siaga Kesehatan” needs some methods which are integrated and continued. One of them is by using managerial principle, those are planning, acting, evaluating, and controlling. The managerial principle is expected to motivate the social movement in the effort of national health development based on society’s health.

Abstract

The study was aimed at investigating the advantages of the habituation of running maintenance and supervision over the practice learning process and the learning achievement of the students of Mechanical Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. It was participatory classroom action research. The subjects were 80 third-semester students grouped into the group C class. The data on the habituation of running maintenance were collected using a questionnaire; those on the students’ learning achievement were collected through documentation and analyzed using a descriptive technique; those on the supervision intensity and machine feasibility were gathered through observations and analyzed using the descriptive qualitative technique. The findings showed that: 1.) The implementation of running maintenance used the systems of coaching, mentoring, and supervision with an optimal intensity of lecturers in teaching-learning machining practices; 2.) The habituation of running maintenance was done through standard procedures, and the implemented action took three cycles; 3.) The achievement of the habituation of running maintenance on students during the implementation of teaching-learning practices was characterized by the rapid job sheet completion that must be taken in one semester; and 4.) With the habituation of running maintenance, the feasibility of the existing machines in the workshop could be maintained.

Abstract

The aim of this study are to formulate several facts in the automotive body repair industries regarding: (1) the competency profile of spot repair job and (2) the equipment and materials needed in each spot repair job profile. This research is a descriptive quantitative study with survey research methods. Data collection techniques in this study used a closed-open combination questionnaire. This study involved 56 respondents (mechanics, foremen, and service advisors) from the automotive body repair industries at Honda, Toyota and Nissan official workshops. The results showed that; (1) there are 16 points of competency profile of spot repair job needed in order to complete the work and supplemented by 3 additional points of competence suggested and, (2) there are 45 items of equipment and 19 items of materials that are overall needed in completing all stages of spot repair job on automotive body repairs.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi tentang: (1) profil kompetensi DU/DI bidang perbaikan bodi otomotif, (2) profil kompetensi TPBO pada SMK di Kabupaten Bantul, dan (3) tingkat relevansi antara profil kompetensi DU/DI bidang perbaikan bodi otomotif dengan profil kompetensi TPBO pada SMK di Kabupaten Bantul. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif komparatif dengan pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif yang didukung dengan data kualitatif sebagai bahan memperkuat data dalam bab pembahasan dengan metode penelitian survei. Penelitian ini melibatkan 42 responden dari DU/DI bidang perbaikan bodi otomotif, 7 guru, dan 29 siswa SMK TPBO di Kabupaten Bantul. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) terdapat 147 butir kompetensi dalam profil kompetensi DU/DI bidang perbaikan bodi otomotif, (2) terdapat 85 butir kompetensi yang terdapat dalam dokumen KTSP SMK TPBO di Kabupaten Bantul dan 103 butir kompetensi yang menjadi profil kompetensi kerja yang diimplementasikan dalam pembelajaran pada SMK TPBO di Kabupaten Bantul, dan (3) tingkat relevansi antara profil kompetensi DU/DI bidang perbaikan bodi otomotif dengan profil kompetensi dokumen KTSP SMK TPBO di Kabupaten Bantul menunjukkan angka 27,211% (tidak relevan). Sedangkan tingkat relevansi dengan profil kompetensi kerja yang diimplementasikan dalam pembelajaran pada SMK TPBO di Kabupaten Bantul menunjukkan angka 70,068% (relevan). Kata kunci: profil kompetensi dunia kerja bidang perbaikan bodi otomotif, profil kompetensi TPBO pada SMK, Relevansi.THE COMPETENCY PROFILE OF THE WORLD OF WORK OF AUTOMOTIVE BODY REPAIR SECTOR AND ITS LEVEL OF RELEVANCE TO THE EDUCATION WORLD Abstract This study aimed to get information about: (1) the competency profile of Business World/ Industrial World (BW/IW) of automotive body repair sector, (2) the competency profile of TPBO SMK in Bantul, and (3) the level of relevance between the competency profile of BW/IW automotive body repair sector and the competency profile of TPBO SMK in Bantul. This research was descriptive comparative using the quantitative research approach accompanied by qualitative data as supporting data in the discussion chapter with the survey method. This research involved 42 respondents from BW/IW automotive body repair sector, 7 teachers, and 29 students from TPBO SMK in Bantul. The results showed: (1) there were 147 items of competency in the competency profile of BW/IW automotive body repair sector, (2) there were 85 items of competency contained in the curriculum of TPBO SMK in Bantul and 103 items of competency in the work competency profile implemented in teaching processes at TPBO SMK in Bantul, and (3) the level of relevance between the competency profile of BW/IW automotive body repair sector and the competency profile of the curriculum of TPBO SMK in Bantul was 27.211% (irrelevant). The level of relevance with the work competency profile implemented in teaching processes at TPBO SMK in Bantul was 70.068% (relevant). Abstract

Vocational education, as a kind of education, has an important role not only for people to get a job but also for nations to grow their national economy. Vocational teachers, especially, are the keys to the success of vocational education, so the competencies required to become such teachers are crucial issues that need attention. This study aims to explore the most needed and recent competencies that an automotive vocational teacher needs to master to survive in career life. A Focus Group Interview (FGI) study with two main questions was used to collect data from 6 participants consisting of 3 automotive vocational teachers and three automotive industrial instructors. The interview was recorded, and the data was analyzed qualitatively. The findings stated that the ability to conduct sustainable learning or lifelong learning becomes the most essential competency that automotive vocational teachers need to have. Additionally, there is a suggestion to automotive vocational teacher education institutions to conduct instructional design of learning activities that could promote the abilities of sustainable learning for the students. This is necessary because automotive technology is developing very quickly, so vocational education should deal with that phenomenon by preparing qualified automotive vocational teacher candidates who can conduct sustainable learning or lifelong learning effectively.
