Abstract

This study aims to determine the validity of the development of android-based learning media on colloid system material for Class XI IPA MAN 4 Banjar, and to determine student responses to the development of android-based learning media on colloid system material for Class XI IPA MAN 4 Banjar. The type of research used in this research is Research and Development (R & D). The development model used in this study is the ADDIE model, namely the research stages of Analysis, Design, Development and Product Manufacturing, Implementation, and Evaluation. However, in this study the evaluation stage was not carried out. The subjects of this study were students of Class XI Science at MAN 4 Banjar in the 2021/2022 academic year. The learning media developed were based on the results of the assessment of media experts, material experts, subject teachers and students' responses to the development of android-based learning media. The results of this study show the following: the validity level of android-based learning media products on colloidal system material gets a validity level percentage of 79% with a valid category, media experts' assessments get a validity level percentage of 95% with a very valid category, assessment from subject teachers Chemistry class XI MAN 4 Banjar gets a percentage of 85% in the valid category, and students' responses to Android-based learning media for field trials get an assessment percentage of 89% in the very practical category.

Abstract

Misconceptions can be identified using a four-level test format diagnostic test. However, this test is less effective because it still uses paper/print and requires a long time at the correction stage. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a web-based four-level test. Objective: The purpose of this research is to find out the practicality of a web-based four-level test. Methods: This type of research is descriptive quantitative with data sources from class X MIPA MAN 1 Hulu Sungai Tengah. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire to test practicality. Results: The results of the practicality test obtained an average percentage of 82.5% in the very practical category in aspects of web appearance, image clarity, material suitability, language, paperless, and helping to determine students' abilities and weaknesses in chemical bonding material. Based on this assessment, a web-based four-level practice test product was used to identify misconceptions in class X MIPA MAN 1 Hulu Sungai Tengah. While the results of students' misconceptions on Lewis structure indicators in chemical compounds were 49.21%, ionic bond formation indicators were 39.68%, covalent bond formation indicators were 47.09%, polar covalent compound indicators were 38.89%, metallic bond indicators were 39.42%, and indicators of the physical properties of compounds based on their bonds of 46.03%. All percentages on these indicators include medium criteria. Novelty: Previous researchers have never done this research, which measured students' misconceptions with web-based four-tier tests in chemistry concepts.

Abstract

AbstrakTujuan penelitian untuk menganalisis kebutuhan bahan ajar Kimia Organik yang berorientasi higher order thinking skills. Penelitian yang dilakukan termasuk penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif dengan populasi penelitian sebanyak 19 orang mahasiswa Tadris Kimia UIN Antasari angkatan 2018. Teknik sampel yang digunakan adalah sampel jenuh. Alat pengumpulan data menggunakan angket dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: mahasiswa sulit memahami materi Kimia Organik dengan tepat; mahasiswa sulit menemukan sumber belajar yang berhubungan dengan Kimia Organik; bahan ajar yang digunakan saat pembelajaran Kimia Organik kurang menarik dan tidak kontekstual; bahan ajar Kimia Organik yang digunakan tidak mendukung mahasiswa untuk menemukan konsep sendiri; serta bahan ajar yang digunakan tidak membantu meningkatkan higher order thinking skills. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disimpulkan bahwa semua responden menyatakan perlunya dikembangkan bahan ajar Kimia Organik yang membuat lebih aktif dan membantu meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi. AbstractThe research aimed to analyze the needs for Organic Chemistry teaching materials that are oriented to higher order thinking skills. The research method used descriptive quantitative research with a research population was 19 of Tadris Chemistry students at UIN Antasari class of 2018. The sampling technique used a saturated sample. Data collection tools used questionnaires and documentation. Data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that: it was difficult for students to understand Organic Chemistry material correctly; it was difficult for students to find learning resources related to Organic Chemistry; teaching materials used when learning Organic Chemistry were less interesting and not contextual; Organic Chemistry teaching materials used do not support students to find their own concepts; and the teaching materials used do not help improve higher order thinking skills. Based on the research results, it was concluded that all respondents stated the need to develop Organic Chemistry teaching materials that make them more active and help improve higher order thinking skills.

Abstract

Bahan ajar diperlukan dalam pembelajaran sains dan dapat dijadikan acuan peserta didik untuk memiliki kemampuan multidisipliner dan berpikir tingkat tinggi. Salah satunya adalah Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD). Akan tetapi, kemampuan guru dalam menyusun LKPD masih belum optimal. Apalagi menggunakan pendekatan yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi (HOTS) peserta didik, seperti STEM. Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan wawadan dan mendampingi guru sains dalam menyusun LKPD STEM for HOTS. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini menggunakan pendekatan Participatory Action Research (PAR) dengan tahapan Diagnose, Act, Measure dan Reflect. Kegiatan ini berorientasi sosial dan melibatkan kerja sama para praktisi dan partisipasi masyarakat untuk memberikan kontribusi pada perubahan masyarakat. Bentuk kegiatannya adalah melaksanakan pelatihan dan pendampingan kepada guru sains di Kalimantan Selatan untuk menyusun LKPD STEM for HOTS. Subjek PkM ini adalah guru mata pelajaran Biologi, Fisika dan Kimia dari berbagai sekolah di Banjarmasin dan sekitarnya. PkM dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus 2020 saat pandemic Covid-19 secara offline dan dihadiri oleh 25 peserta yang merupakan guru dan calon guru sains di sekitar Banjarmasin. Hasil PkM menunjukkan bahwa guru dan calon guru sains dapat terlatih dalam menyusun LKPD berbasis STEM for HOTS. Dengan adanya pelatihan ini, guru dan calon guru sains dapat memahami dan mengaplikasikan variasi pendekatan pembelajaran dalam penyusunan LKPD untuk diterapkan dalam pembelajaran di sekolah masing-masing. Dengan demikian, pelatihan penyusunan LKPD berbasis STEM for HOTS dapat terlaksana dengan baik dan mewujudkan bahan yang inovatif.Teaching materials are needed in science learning. One of them is Student Worksheets (LKPD). However, the teacher's ability to prepare LKPD is still not optimal. Moreover, using an approach that can improve students' higher-order thinking skills (HOTS), such as STEM. This Community Service (PkM) aims to guide and assist science teachers in preparing STEM LKPD for HOTS. This PkM activity uses a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach with the stages of Diagnose, Act, Measure, and Reflect. This activity is socially oriented and involves the collaboration of practitioners and community participation to contribute to societal change. The form of its activities is to conduct training and mentoring for science teachers in South Kalimantan to prepare STEM LKPD for HOTS. The PkM subjects were Biology, Physics, and Chemistry teachers from various schools in Banjarmasin and its surroundings. PkM was held in August 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic offline and was attended by 25 participants who are teachers and prospective science teachers around Banjarmasin. The PkM results show that teachers and prospective science teachers can be trained in preparing STEM-based worksheets for HOTS. With this training, science teachers and prospective science teachers can add experience and a variety of learning approaches implemented in their respective schools. Thus, the STEM for HOTS-based LKPD preparation training can be carried out properly and create innovative materials.

Abstract

Multiple representations can facilitate the understanding of abstract chemical concepts. Multiple representations can be incorporated into teaching materials, such as Student Worksheets, to create Multiple Representation-based Student Worksheets. This study aims to analyze the validity of Student Worksheets based on multiple representations of electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions. The research utilized the Research and Development (R&D) model with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) development stages, reaching the development stage in this study. Data were obtained from material expert and media expert validators. Descriptive statistical analysis was used to analyze the validity results. The Student Worksheets based on multiple representations of electrolyte and non-electrolyte solution materials achieved an average validity percentage of 84.37% from material experts and 95% from media experts, categorizing them as very valid. These worksheets, focusing on the validity aspect, are effective in assisting students in understanding chemical concepts.

Abstract

Karet (Hevea brasiliensis) menjadi salah satu komoditas unggulan sektor perkebunan Indonesia. Pemanfaatan karet biasanya hanya difokuskan pada pengambilan getah pohon, sedangkan biji karet tidak mempunyai nilai ekonomis selain sebagai benih generatif pohon karet, sehingga biji karet belum termanfaatkan secara optimal dan dianggap sebagai limbah. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menghasilkan berbagai produk ramah lingkungan dengan mengoptimalisasi biji karet melalui proses biorefinery yaitu biodiesel, briket, dan pupuk organik cair. Proses mengolah biodiesel dari biji karet yaitu dengan mengepres biji karet yang sudah dilepaskan dari cangkangnya, dilanjutkan dengan proses degumming dan reaksi transesterifikasi. Proses tersebut menghasilkan limbah cangkang biji karet dan ampas biji karet. Cangkang biji karet diolah menjadi briket dengan proses pengarangan, pengayakan, pencampuran bahan, pencetakan briket, dan pengeringan. Proses pengolahan ampas biji karet menjadi pupuk cair organik yaitu dengan menambahkan larutan EM4 dan kotoran ayam, kemudian difermentasi selama 3 minggu. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu minyak biji karet yang berpotensi menjadi biodiesel, briket, dan pupuk organik

Abstract

This study aims to identify the creative thinking skills of Independent Learning-Independent Campus (MBKM) students in lesson planning lectures at PGSD UST. The method used is quantitative with descriptive analysis. The population in this study were all MBKM students from UNM who took lesson planning lectures with a sampling technique using non-probability sampling, the type of purposive sampling with a total sample of 5 people. The data collection technique used analysis on student assignment documents in the form of a portfolio. The results showed that the creative thinking ability of MBKM students was quite creative with an average of 57.5%. There are 2 or 40% of students who are classified as creative and 3 or 60% of students who are quite creative.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the effect of POE (Predict, Observe, and Explain) learning model on: 1) self efficacy, 2) student learning outcomes, and 3) self efficacy and student learning outcomes on basic laws of chemistry. This study used a quantitative approach with an experimental design of the quasi-experiment type, and with a non-equivalent control group design. The population in this study were class X students of SMAN 1 Ngunut, while the samples were class X-E as the experimental class and class X-F as the control class with the sampling technique was purposive sampling. The research instrument in the form of a questionnaire was used to measure student self-efficacy and test questions were used to measure student learning outcomes. Data analysis used prerequisite tests (normality test and homogeneity test), and hypothesis tests use independent sample t-test and manova test. The results showed that: 1) there is an effect of the POE learning model on self-efficacy with a sig value. (2-tailed) 0.000 <0.05, 2) there is an effect of the POE learning model on student learning outcomes with a sig value. (2-tailed) 0.000 <0.05, and 3) there is an effect of the POE learning model on self efficacy and student learning outcomes on the material of basic laws of chemistry with a sig value. (2-tailed) 0.000 <0.05.

Abstract

The mismatch between what students receive at school and outside school causes the majority of elementary school students to find mathematics difficult to understand. This research aims to determine differences in understanding of the concept of geometry material between classes that use ethnomathematics-based learning media and classes that do not use learning media as usual. This research uses a quantitative approach with experimental methods. The location of this research is at MI Al-Fitrah Tamiang Layang, Central Kalimantan. The sampling technique used is saturated sampling where all members of the population are used as research samples. Data collection techniques through test, observation and documentation. There are 2 data analysis techniques used, namely descriptive statistical analysis and statistical analysis. The findings show that the independents sample t-test with t count of 3.028 and a significance of 0.004 shows that H 0 is rejected and h a is accepted, which means there is a significant difference in understanding the concept of geometric materials between classes that use ethnomathematics-based learning media and those that do not use learning media. Apart from that, the average score for classes that use ethnomathematics-based learning media is higher than classes that do not use learning media, so it can be concluded that the use of ethnomathematics-based learning media is effective in learning mathematics, geometry material.

Abstract

Ethnochemistry is the study of chemical practices by specific cultural groups that are used for activities following the ideology of the community, including the Banjarese community. Banjar ethnochemistry can be integrated into science learning, especially for Indonesia’s senior high school chemistry learning context. This study aims to analyze the results of exploring the local wisdom of the Banjarese community, which is included in ethnochemistry, and to take an inventory of Banjar ethnochemical knowledge as a source of Indonesia senior high school chemistry learning. The study uses an exploratory qualitative approach with ethnographic methods. The subjects in this research are community leaders and academics who understand Banjar ethnochemistry. Data collection techniques used interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the Banjar ethnochemical exploration include Banjar soup, sasirangan, basungu, rub ash, batimung, sepat dry fish, diamond, tanggui, tapai Gambut, laduman, kelakai, ironwood, ironwood hair oil, fish pentol, selangat shredded fish, Mangurak wells, mandai, and lahang ice. An inventory of Banjar ethnochemical knowledge that can be used as a source for Indonesia senior high school chemistry learning consists of acids and bases, chemistry and its scope, alkane derivatives, macromolecules, elemental chemistry, and colligative properties of solutions.
