Abstract

This study explores the contextual integration of Islamic values within science education through the "Islam and Science Integration" course in an Islamic higher education institution. Using a qualitative case study approach, the research involved five students from the Physics Education Study Program at Universitas Islam Negeri Antasari Banjarmasin. Data were collected through interviews and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that students demonstrate Islamic integration by applying fiqh principles to contemporary scientific and technological issues. However, integrating Islamic values with science does not override fiqh rulings rooted in the Qur'an and Sunnah. Instead, this integration enriches students' contextual understanding of religion and science. The study concludes that the value of Islamic integration in science education is best reflected in the fiqh framework, offering a meaningful model for harmonizing religious understanding with scientific reasoning. This research contributes to developing context-based Islamic science education in higher education.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of students' numeracy skills by using the jaritmatika method and the Pythagorean multiplication table on student learning outcomes significantly in mathematics lessons on student multiplication operations. The method used in this research is the quasi experimental method of experimental research which is basically the same as cause-and-effect research but is carried out using pseudo-experimental methods. This research was conducted at SDN Sungai Jingah 5 with saturated sampling of grade III. The results showed that the numeracy skills of experimental grade students using the jaritmatika method and tables can be seen from the average results of 82.13 are in the "Very Good" qualification, while the numeracy skills of control grade students using the interactive discussion method 73.87 are in the "Good" qualification. Based on the calculation with the Independent Simple T Test "T Test" with asymp, Sig (2-tailed) is 0.041, because 0.041 <0.05 then H 0is rejected and H ais accepted so it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in the learning outcomes of the ability to count multiplication of the experimental grade (using the jaritmatika method and table) and the control grade (using interactive discussions). The implication of this research can be used as an alternative method of learning mathematics calculation for elementary school students.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to show the percentage of misconceptions experienced by students in class X MAN 3 Hulu Sungai Selatan by doing a four-tier test (four-level test) for each subconcept. The type of research used is descriptive statistics with a quantitative approach. The population of this study were students of class X MAN 3 Hulu Sungai Selatan with samples of class X MIA 1 and 2 totaling 63 people. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. The data collection technique used a diagnostic test in the form of a four-tier test. The results showed that there was a misconception about the redox reaction material with an average of 33.45% which met the moderate criteria. Misconceptions of subconcepts Redox reactions are based on the gain and release of oxygen (16.67%), based on the gain and loss of electrons (39.68%), increase and decrease in oxidation number (38.10%), Oxidation number (12.70%), Oxidation-reduction reactions (44.44%), oxidizing agents and reducing agents (30.16%), and application of redox reactions (52.38%). The biggest misconception is in the sub-concept of applying redox reactions.

Abstract

Ethnochemistry is the study of chemical practices by specific cultural groups that are used for activities following the ideology of the community, including the Banjarese community. Banjar ethnochemistry can be integrated into science learning, especially for Indonesia’s senior high school chemistry learning context. This study aims to analyze the results of exploring the local wisdom of the Banjarese community, which is included in ethnochemistry, and to take an inventory of Banjar ethnochemical knowledge as a source of Indonesia senior high school chemistry learning. The study uses an exploratory qualitative approach with ethnographic methods. The subjects in this research are community leaders and academics who understand Banjar ethnochemistry. Data collection techniques used interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the Banjar ethnochemical exploration include Banjar soup, sasirangan, basungu, rub ash, batimung, sepat dry fish, diamond, tanggui, tapai Gambut, laduman, kelakai, ironwood, ironwood hair oil, fish pentol, selangat shredded fish, Mangurak wells, mandai, and lahang ice. An inventory of Banjar ethnochemical knowledge that can be used as a source for Indonesia senior high school chemistry learning consists of acids and bases, chemistry and its scope, alkane derivatives, macromolecules, elemental chemistry, and colligative properties of solutions.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the effect of POE (Predict, Observe, and Explain) learning model on: 1) self efficacy, 2) student learning outcomes, and 3) self efficacy and student learning outcomes on basic laws of chemistry. This study used a quantitative approach with an experimental design of the quasi-experiment type, and with a non-equivalent control group design. The population in this study were class X students of SMAN 1 Ngunut, while the samples were class X-E as the experimental class and class X-F as the control class with the sampling technique was purposive sampling. The research instrument in the form of a questionnaire was used to measure student self-efficacy and test questions were used to measure student learning outcomes. Data analysis used prerequisite tests (normality test and homogeneity test), and hypothesis tests use independent sample t-test and manova test. The results showed that: 1) there is an effect of the POE learning model on self-efficacy with a sig value. (2-tailed) 0.000 <0.05, 2) there is an effect of the POE learning model on student learning outcomes with a sig value. (2-tailed) 0.000 <0.05, and 3) there is an effect of the POE learning model on self efficacy and student learning outcomes on the material of basic laws of chemistry with a sig value. (2-tailed) 0.000 <0.05.
