Abstract

The current study aims to conduct a simulation that is useful in developing an appropriate design that addresses the problem of congestion in the Internet network through controlling the queue of the router. The simulation is conducted through the proposed model for simulation with different control systems that help in raising the quality of performance such as traditional Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) and advanced optimal by Flower Pollination Algorithm  (FPA). It depends for Transmission Control Protocol/ Active Queue Management( TCP/AQM )simulation model for a linear system and another non-linear system. To adjust the network work and raise the level of performance, different control systems were chosen, taking into account all the things that appear through conducting experiments and for different purposes. One of the most important things that must be taken into consideration is the system disturbances as a result of the volume and values of the data, causing congestion . It was shown through the results of the experiments that were conducted considering the cases of the linear and nonlinear system to pass data traffic in the network and by adopting the different techniques of the control units, the preference of optimizasion systems over the traditional ones, as well as the preference of the traditional over  without control in close loop, is the improvement of the performance of linear systems compared to the open and closed system without control. The simulation results showed that very clear the superiority of the optimization by FPA-PID controller over the conventional system (PID)  , as well as very clear the superiority of  the traditional system (PID)over closed system without control and open loop system.

Abstract

Electrical machines based on permanent magnet material excitations have been applied in many sectors since they are distinguished by their high torque-to-size ratio and offer high efficiency. Brushless permanent magnetic direct current (BLPMDC) motors are one type of these machines. They are preferable over conventional DC motors. one of the main challengings of the BLPMDC motor drives is the inherited feature of nonlinearity. Therefore, a conventional PID controller would not be an efficient choice for the speed control of such motors. The object of this paper is to design an efficient speed control for the BLPMDC motor. The proposed controller is based on the Fuzzy logic technique. MATLAB/ Simulink has been employed to design and test the drive system. Simulations were carried out for three cases, the first without a controller, the other using conventional control, and the third using expert systems. The results proved the possibility of improving the engine's working performance using the control systems. They also proved that the adoption of expert systems is better than the traditional nonlinear systems. The simulation response shows that the Rise Time(tr) at PID equals 66.306ms, while it equals 19.530ms for the Fuzzy logic controller. Moreover, Overshoot for PID and Fuzzy logic controller are 6.989% and 1.531%, respectively. On the other hand, undershoot is equal to 1.788% and 11.924% for PID and Fuzzy logic controller, respectively.

Abstract

Photovoltaics are one of the most important renewable energy sources to meet the increasing demand for energy. This led to the emergence of Microgrid s, which revealed a number of problems, the most important of which is managing and monitoring their operation, this research contributes mainly by using a maximum power tracking algorithm Which depends on artificial neurons and integrating it with a proposed algorithm for energy management in Standalone DC Microgrid, in order to control the distribution of power and maintain the DC bus voltage level.  Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithm based on ANN+PID is used. Where ANN tracks the maximum power point by estimating the reference voltage using real-time data such as temperature and solar radiation. The PI controller reduces the error between the measured voltage and the reference voltage and makes the necessary adjustments in order to control the boost converter connected to the photovoltaic panels. While the process of controlling the DC bus voltage level is done by controlling the battery charging and discharging process through the power management algorithm and controlling the Bidirectional converter switches according to the battery’s state of charge. The simulation results obtained by used MATLAB Simulink are shown that the used MPPT algorithm achieved the maximum power with the least amount of fluctuation, the method's efficiency was 99.92%, and its accuracy was 99.85%, as well as the success of the power management algorithm controlling the battery charging/discharging process and maintaining the DC voltage level at the specified value in different operating scenarios.

Abstract

The current simulation is conducted in order to develop an appropriate design for the control systems and control the speed of the electric motor. To obtain the appropriate and required design, work is carried out for two cases, a constant speed and the other case at variable speed in different conditions for operation of dc servo motor, these conditions include rotating in a clockwise direction, break and returns rotating in the opposite clockwise direction. Through the proposed working conditions, it is possible to obtain the best values for the parameters of the control unit that improve the working performance of dc servo motor, which were shown by the simulation results and their values were kp =5, ki=3 and kd=5 for PID controller. Which changed the system response speed, rise time and the upper and lower bypass ratio at acceptable rates and ratios to prove an improvement procedure in the work of the electric motor.

Abstract

A study is underway under the title, Design and implementation of voltage source inverter using sinusoidal pulse width modulation technique to drive a single-phase induction motor. The objectives of the study can be achieved by building a simulation model for a single-phase full-wave inverter consisting of four IGBT transistors. The inverter converts a direct voltage of 220 volts from the power source connected to the inverter input to an alternating voltage of 220 volts RMS. A 10-ohm resistive load is fed to the inverter output. In the first test, a square wave is generated as a result of operating the inverter in the first mode, as a result of activating two electronic switches that give the value of the voltage wave to the load, while the second mode gives the negative voltage with an interval of ten milliseconds for each mode, i.e., at a frequency of 50 Hz for twenty milliseconds for the square wave generated at the inverter output. The other model uses sinusoidal pulse width modulation technique to remove harmonics and control the inverter output by opening and closing electronic switches, which leads to removing some harmonics. The third model depends on adding a filter to obtain the basic wave and get rid of the rest of the harmonics, which results in generating a sine wave. After obtaining an inverter model that converts 220 volts direct voltage to 220 volts alternating voltage RMS as a first stage, the second stage is to feed a single-phase induction motor and operate it under test conditions that include a no-load condition, i.e., zero torque, a constant load condition, i.e., 1 Newton-meter torque, and finally a variable load condition, which is similar to many applications such as a fan, pump, etc. From the simulation results, we can say that the system is effective in operating the induction motor at the specified speed (1430 rpm) after providing the specified electrical quantities, a frequency of 50 Hz, and a voltage of 220 volts alternating voltage RMS.

Abstract

Underwater Analysis of acquired images may be affected by low contrast, haze, and other disturbances., caused by scattering and absorption of the light through propagation. An adaptive fuzzy filter for three mixed noise reduction is adopted on underwater sonar images to take out the various noises that either appear in the image when captured or injected into the image when transmitted. Underwater images when captured usually have speckle noise, salt, pepper noise also Gaussian noise. Is suggested in this paper an adaptive fuzzy filter structure that combines the fuzzy filter, sigmoid sliding control to minimize error as possible, and mean filter to reduce three mixed noises from sonar images underwater. This technique gives the best results especially with speckle noise compared to mean filter, median filter as no adaptive filters, and fuzzy filters, frost filter as adaptive filters. The MATLAB programs are adopted to simulate the proposed system.

Abstract

Quality manipulation plays an essential feature in assuring product reliability and patron loyalty. Single Sampling Plans (SSPs) are usually utilized in excellent assurance to decide whether a batch of items should be popular or rejected based on sample characteristics. Truncated SSPs are a subset of those plans that offer benefits in sampling performance and price effectiveness. However, the lifestyles of outliers in accrued information will have a substantial impact on the accuracy and reliability of estimators employed in truncated SSPs. This examination explores the impact of outliers on the overall performance of truncated SSP estimators, in addition to their implications for quality control decision-making. We begin by providing a comprehensive overview of truncated SSPs and their applications in the industry. Then, at that point, delve into outlier detection methods and investigate their effectiveness in identifying potential anomalies inside tested information. Notwithstanding theoretical insights, this exploration incorporates a practical application where we exhibit the effect of outlier detection and robust estimation techniques on real-world quality control choices. By giving rules and recommendations for practitioners, this study expects to upgrade the reliability and effectiveness of truncated SSPs within the sight of outliers, eventually adding to further developed product quality and consumer satisfaction in manufacturing and other industries.

Abstract

Samples of polymeric sheets of high-specification polycarbonate, which is characterized by high resistance in its pure form, were prepared and combined with low-density polyethylene sheets, which show low specifications relative to polycarbonate in equal proportions of (PC-%LDPE) (100%,80% 50%,20%). The preparation of the layered polymer mixtures was carried out using the micro-mixing method using an extruder. The effect of the binary polymer blends (PC-%LDPE) was demonstrated in increasing the maximum strength, and the effectiveness of advanced mechanical properties. The degradation of polymeric sets had little effect with the reinforcement of 20% of black carbon powder compared to other ratios.

Abstract

Electronic power converters have emerged and been widely used as a result of the use of direct current systems, and one of their most important uses is renewable energy such as solar energy. When electrical energy is generated from primary sources such as solar energy, converters can be added to convert to a higher or lower value using a buck-boost converter. If the converter is used and operated within an open-loop system, which is the first proposed test case, it is possible to verify the ability of the converter to convert with a constant current rate according to its function, but it turns out that the conversion, in this case, is in a state of instability, which requires work to add feedback and make the system operate in a system Closed loop is the second test case to reach and ensure a stable state for the system. To ensure the scheduled effort, work is being done to improve the system by adding traditional and expert controllers. Thus, by adjusting the parameters of the controller, acceptable performance can be obtained. It represents a transformer with a controller that maximizes results with accuracy and stability. The controller works to track errors through a sensor. It shows the output value with the appropriate reference value for the transformer output, in addition to the presence of a comparator that detects the error to be an input for the controller, which works according to a working algorithm to implement a compensation state, treat the error and instability, get rid of the deviation, and return to the stable state. Various control methods are implemented to improve performance, including traditional PI and expert Fuzzy, with the best being determined by comparing the system output results, as the simulation showed the superiority of fuzzy logic over traditional in terms of response speed time, rise time, and under and over bypass rates.

Abstract

The current paper aims to explore the possibility of improving the performance of one of the important systems (boost DC-DC converter) in the field of electrical energy by contributing to the use of electronic power converters to provide the scheduled voltage to the loads with changing operating conditions using traditional (PID control) and expert (Neuro-fuzzy logic control) methods. Test cases are proposed to verify the possibility of improvement and the effectiveness of the system through approved measurement criteria such as improving stability, response time, efficiency, or a performance measure for overshoot and undershoot rates and rise time in addition to steady-state error through which comparison can be made to know the best between the methodology used to evaluate the performance of PID controllers and ANFIS (Adaptive Neuro-fuzzy Inference System). The current paper deals with a study of the operation of non-linear DC-DC Converters with a Neuro-Fuzzy Controller. To verify the system's effectiveness, proposed tests are conducted to simulate operation in real-time. The assumptions adopted are that the input voltage value is available from a direct current source with a voltage of (12) volts, and what is required to supply a load with a voltage ranging between (22-120) depending on the load change. The necessary calculations were made to calculate the converter parameters. The required inductance value was (160μH) and the capacitance value was (276μF). The simulation test was conducted using a model consisting of a resistive load and a step-up converter in addition to the supply source in both the open-loop and closed-loop system states. System tests were also conducted in the presence of the proposed controllers to verify the system's effectiveness.
