Abstract

Character education in discipline is an important aspect in shaping responsible, honest, and integrity-driven individuals. Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), as traditional educational institutions, play a strategic role in instilling discipline values through a holistic approach that encompasses spiritual, social, and academic aspects. This study aims to comprehensively examine the concept of discipline-based character education in pesantren, the methods employed, and its impact on the character development of students (santri). The research was conducted using a descriptive qualitative approach through a case study at one pesantren. Data were collected through interviews and observations. The findings indicate that the implementation of discipline-based character education in pesantren is highly effective due to a conducive environment, the habituation of Islamic values, and strict supervision from the kyai (religious leaders) and ustadz (teachers). Santri are taught not only discipline in worship but also in daily life, including aspects of time management, social ethics, and adherence to rules. In conclusion, discipline-based character education in pesantren can serve as an effective educational model for shaping a strong character in the younger generation, enabling them to face the challenges of the times.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how active learning methods are applied in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) subjects to foster students' independent character at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Boja. We used a qualitative approach with a case study design for this study. We collected data through observation, interviews, and documentation. From the results of the study, it can be seen that the application of active learning methods such as problem-based learning, cooperative learning, and project-based learning can increase students' independence, both in learning and in everyday life. This method makes students more active in finding learning resources, more confident in expressing opinions, and able to develop problem-solving skills independently. In addition, active learning also helps students to be more responsible for their assignments and improves their ability to manage time and plan learning. The factors that support the implementation of active learning methods include teacher commitment to implementing innovative learning strategies, support from a supportive school environment, and students' awareness of the importance of independent learning. However, this study also found several obstacles, such as students' lack of readiness to adopt more independent learning methods, limited facilities and infrastructure, and limited time to implement active methods in class.

Abstract

Islamic religious education for the process of forming religious character for students. To be clear, Islamic religious education is the most important foundation that comes from actualizing character education. Education according to the important components, there is also the belief that there is an effective assumption for the formation of the character of the students, especially in realizing the religious character, not denying the components of the contents associated with Islamic religious education. Where the holders of interest roles in the lives of students with religious character models both in the world and in the hereafter. The growth and development of a good identity can begin with the religious spirit embedded in the students. This is where the meaning of character education is, therefore the Islamic religious education material taught in the school environment is one of the supporting values to base character education. Through Islamic religious education, students are taught aqidah when they are able to recognize elements of their religion based on the Qur'an or hadith in using guidelines to protect themselves in life. So, the main purpose of Islamic religious education is to shape the personality of students in the frame of reflection when they behave and do mindsets in life. In addition, the success value of various types of Islamic religious education learning in the school environment can be determined by the symptoms of accurate learning methods that are of interest to students.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the role of fiqh teachers in improving the formation of students' honest character. Because apart from teaching fiqh subjects, fiqh teachers also have an important role in providing good role models for the development of dignified student character. This research uses qualitative. Data collection techniques, namely, observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the research show that the role of fiqh teachers is a driving factor in improving the character of students at SMK Muhammadiyah 02 Boja. In particular, teachers act as motivators to encourage learning activities. Apart from that, the fiqh teacher as a guide in the character development of students at SMK Muhammadiyah 02 Boja as a teacher must try to provide various information about religious culture that is needed in the fiqh teaching and learning process, evaluating the results of fiqh learning at each stage. religious cultural activities carried out and creating appropriate opportunities for each student to study jurisprudence according to their individual characteristics, and the role of the jurisprudence teacher as an initiator in improving the character of students at SMK Muhammadiyah 02 Boja, namely displaying learning media, using cellphones and practicing. All of this is done so that students understand the material presented.

Abstract

The method of learning hadith during the time of the Prophet Muhammad had many challenges. In addition to him himself forbidding his companions in general to write down the hadith he conveyed, at that time there was no other method to store knowledge other than memorizing it. Although only the memorization method was left to keep knowledge from being lost, the Prophet Muhammad used various methods so that his companions could easily memorize and understand the learning he conveyed. This study aims to comprehensively examine the concept of hadith learning during the time of the Prophet Muhammad, starting from the methods used to the supporting methods. The study was conducted using a library research approach. Data were collected through books related to this. The results of the study indicate that the memorization method remains relevant anytime and anywhere and is able to face the challenges of the times.

Abstract

One of the abilities that students should be masters of is the capacity for mathematical reasoning. The ability of good mathematical reasoning will really help them in resolving common mathematical problems. Another aspect that affects student’s ability to solve problems requiring mathematical reasoning is learning style. The study uses  a method that is qualitative with the type of case study. The purpose of this study is to describe the ability of mathematical reasoning of Class VIII A at Srengat 3 Junior High School to a visual learning style in solving mathematical problems on the material algebraic form. The results showed that students with visual learning styles are able to meet 4 indicators of the ability of mathematical reasoning, which is sense-making, conjecturing, convincing, and generalising.
