Abstract

A community service partnership is carried out between a university and a local government to standardize processes and products produced by the Ayam Goreng Kalasan industry cluster. Efforts are made through a series of focused discussion activities, knowledge sharing, and material provision, as well as training and mentoring on aspects of standardization, product diversification, and promotion toward marketing with a broader scope. The first three stages were carried out with the involvement of local government. The results of the community service implementation were measured using a comparison of knowledge of business actors before and after the implementation of the activities. A total of 31 business actors, as members of the Ayam Goreng Kalasan Maju Makmur industry cluster, have participated in this activity. Increased knowledge is observed in all aspects: standardization, diversification, management, and marketing. The collaboration between the university and the local government, therefore, can increase the participation of business actors, accelerate the required standardization and certification process, and further increase the possibility of sustainability of cluster business development.

Abstract

Efforts to obtain safe and quality food include good food processing and management of a clean production environment. Implementation of good production by applying the CPPB-IRT food safety assurance system as a processing guideline. The basis of analysis uses 14 aspects, namely location and production environment, buildings and facilities, production equipment, facilities for providing water, sanitation facilities and practices, employee health and hygiene, maintenance and hygiene and cleanliness programs, storage, process control, food labeling, supervision from the person in charge, product recall, recording and documentation, and employee training. The research data collection used observation, interviews, checksheet filling and literature study. The results of the analysis based on BPOM regulation No. HK.03.1.23.04.12.2206 stated that CPPB-IRT in bolen production achieved a percentage conformity of 86.6% and a non-conformity of 13.4%. The assessment of non-conformity is found in the criteria in several aspects following the criteria from the aspects of buildings and facilities, employee health and hygiene, maintenance and cleaning and sanitation programs, storage, supervision by the person in charge, product recall, recording and documentation. The results of the analysis of BPOM regulation No. HK.03.1.23.04.12.2207 state that there are 4 out of 14 aspects of CPPB-IRT bias, namely in the aspects of buildings and facilities, employee health and hygiene, supervision by the person in charge, recording and documentation. Abstract

Purpose –  This study aims to evaluate the impact of AUN-QA (ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance) certification on strengthening Internal Quality Assurance Systems (SPMI) in Indonesian higher education institutions, specifically in relation to aligning educational outcomes with industry needs. Given Indonesia’s global competitiveness ranking and challenges in aligning higher education with labor market demands, the research focuses on how AUN-QA certification affects quality assurance practices at the program level, aiming to close methodological and empirical gaps in the literature on quality assurance in Indonesian universities. Methods/Design/Approach – A comparative case study approach is used, focusing on two Mechanical Engineering programs at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), which have and have not attained AUN-QA certification. Qualitative data collection was conducted through semi-structured interviews and document analysis, with participants involved in SPMI implementation. Thematic analysis was employed to identify patterns and themes regarding understanding, implementation, and commitment to SPMI and its alignment with industry needs. Findings – AUN-QA certification enhances the effectiveness of SPMI, promoting better alignment between educational outcomes and industry demands. UGM's certified program showed significant improvements in curriculum development, student outcome measurement, and stakeholder engagement compared to the non-certified program at UNS. However, challenges remain in fully integrating international standards into SPMI practices.. Originality/Value – This study provides empirical evidence on the positive impact of international certification on quality assurance in Indonesian higher education, offering insights into how AUN-QA certification can drive continuous quality improvement and closer alignment with industry expectations, addressing gaps in both theoretical and practical knowledge. Practical Implications – The findings suggest that higher education institutions should prioritize internal quality assurance alongside international certification to produce industry-relevant graduates. Policymakers and university administrators are encouraged to support the adoption of AUN-QA and similar certifications to enhance the global competitiveness of Indonesian graduates.. Abstract

This article aims to investigate the accommodation of stakeholders’ voices and it’s challenges in the practices of curriculum development. Using a qualitative approach, the primary data was gathered through in-depth interviews with the head and secretary, and the administrative staff of four Study Programs in The School of Post Graduate Program of one of the leading universities in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Whereas, secondary data was taken from the documents of curriculum reviews and accreditation documents. The research found that amidst the complexity of involving stake holder’s views within curriculum design, all the four programs have gathered the stake holders’ voices via tracer study, informal discussion during academic meetings and evaluation from the students.  The accommodation of stake holders’ voices can be traced in the form of the addition of elective courses, merging of some courses, addition or omission of certain courses in the current curriculum design. However, the practice of curriculum development was challenged by various aspects such as the commitment of Study Programs to maintain their ‘scientific core’ vis a vis addressing market demand given their commitment to improve theories and knowledge, and the limitation of human resource availabilityArtikel ini Betjeman untuk meneliti akomodasi terhadap masukan stakeholder serta tantangannya dalam praktik pengembangan kurikulum.
