Abstract

Jakarta is the central part of governance, economic, and industrial aspect of Indonesia. This condition make Jakarta as the most populated metropolitan. DKI Jakarta covers an area 650 km2 wide and have population density around 12.495 people/km2. The population grow around 2.4 % per year. A fast-growing population and environmental capacity decrease causing high food demand and open land scarcity. Jakarta have an area 66.233 Ha with agriculture area around 1.102 Ha and non-agriculture area 65.131 Ha. Most food supply comes from Bogor, Bekasi and Tangerang which are three satellite cities of Jakarta. In consequence, a solution is urgently needed to overcome the whole problems. Jakarta Floating Farm and Fisheries (J3F) is the floating agricultural farm and floating fisheries. This concept is new alternative for agriculture and fisheries development utilzing coastal zone and act as an effort for creating a new leading, modern and eco-friendly agricultural and fisheries industry supporting an independent metropolitan concept. Jakarta Floating Farm and Fisheries (J3F) concept will directly integrate with Jakarta North coastal area development masterplan in form of Garuda giant seawall as a government program facing Jakarta north coastal zone protection from sinking. Various attempt in synergy with nature are applicated at most of the metropolitan system so that more marine and nature damage could be avoided.Keyword: Residence, Farming, Fisheries, Jakarta

Abstract

Abstract. The competition in the RTD (Ready-To-Drink) milk tea currently in Indonesia is rapidly increasing. Until April 2013 Eternitea, an RTD milk tea company, has been growing, but in May 2013 the sales was decreased and not able to reach its target. The business issues of Eternitea are: (1) how to increase Eternitea sales to reach its target sales, and (2) how to develop Eternitea in order to survive and continue to grow in the long-term. The external and internal analyses, followed by SWOT analysis, are used to analyze the business situation. The roots of problems that are found are: (1) limited production capacity because of no employees and (2) no established strategic management processes. Strategic formulation is used to find and analyze the business solution. From EFAS and IFAS, the most appropriate business strategy to be implemented by Eternitea is a growth strategy, while considering the company’s external and internal strategic factors, the best competitive strategy is differentiation focus. Eternitea should focus to serve middle-to-higher-income potential customers and create differentiation through its product and distribution. There are three alternative growth strategies that will be implemented by Eternitea in order to survive and continue to grow in long-term: (1) product development for short-term, (2) market penetration for medium-term, and (3) market development for long-term. In conclusion, Eternitea should hire employees in the field of marketing and operation. Key words: Eternitea, Ready-To-Drink, Strategic Management

Abstract

Kelurahan Lubuk Kelik is one of the new sub-districts which is the result of the expansion of Kelurahan Parit Padang in Province of Kepulauan Bangka Belitung, the majority of which is a post-tin mining area and conservation forest area. The issue of waste is the main environmental problem faced. Along the Lubuk Kelik road, which stretches for 12 km, there are at least 10-15 illegal waste dumping points located along the road in the oil palm plantation area and residents' land. The Various efforts to educate awareness of waste management was done but that does not cause environmental problems, including throwing rubbish in its place or making recycled crafts using plastic waste. The low direct impact felt sometimes makes this education less effective, especially as handicraft products based on recycled plastic waste are less popular with the market due to the lack of innovation and creativity. The training to empower PKK and housewives through the application of hydroponic technology using plastic bottle waste is expected to be an alternative solution to the household scale plastic bottle waste problem in the Kelurahan Lubuk Kelik. This activity is an effort to handle plastic bottle waste through a recycling use method based on community empowerment, especially housewives in terms of meeting their daily need for vegetables. This was chosen because vegetables are a basic need for society and are now quite expensive. Apart from that, hydroponic technology is more efficient than conventional vegetable plantations because it does not depend on soil fertility and land area and is free of pesticides. Apart from fulfilling daily needs, it is hoped that the community will be able to develop vegetables into superior commodities as additional income for the community.

Abstract

The production of palm oil shell waste in the palm oil industry is increasing,  but the utilization of palm oil shell waste has not been utilized optimally. Palm Oil Shells must be processed and utilized to reduce pollution and increase the use value of waste. This research aims to utilize palm oil shell waste using an Al/Cr metal pillared bentonite catalyst with a gasification process to produce synthesis gas. The bentonite pillarization process using Al/Cr metal aims to increase the catalyst surface area, basal distance and catalyst surface acidity so as to increase the catalytic activity of the catalyst in the gasification process. The gasification process is carried out at temperatures of 450, 500, 550 and 600°C. Adding the Al/Cr metal pillared bentonite catalyst, the H2 concentration increased significantly. The effect of increasing temperature can increase the H2 content by consuming CO within a certain time limit. The gasification process at temperature 600°C with a 20% Al/Cr metal pillared bentonite catalyst is the optimal condition for producing synthesis gas. The heating value of the gasification results in terms of the optimum HHV and LHV values is 16.21 MJ/Nm3 and 14.59 MJ/Nm3. Based on research, gasification of palm oil shells using an Al/Cr metal pillared bentonite catalyst is feasible for the production of environmentally friendly fuel

Abstract

The usage of plastics has brought negative impacts to the environment. Therefore, the development of bioplastics is required to solve the impact of the usage of plastics on the environment. In this study, bioplastics were developed based on banana stem cellulose, chitosan, and glycerol. The objective of this study was to determine the content of banana stems cellulose, functional groups, and the effect of glycerol addition on the thickness, mechanical properties, and degradation rate of bioplastics. The research was started by extracting cellulose from the stem of banana. Bioplastic synthesis was performed by adjusting the addition of glycerol. The bioplastics were examined for thickness, mechanical properties, functional groups, morphology, and degradation. The results indicated that the extracted banana stems produced cellulose with a concentration of 93%. It was identified to have cellulose functional groups in the form of O-H, C-H, and C-O. However, the addition of glycerol to bioplastics increased the thickness, elongation, and degradation rate, but decreased the tensile strength. Bioplastics with the best characteristics were produced by applying 3 mL glycerol with a thickness of 0,578 mm, tensile strength of 0,149 MPa, elongation of 2,7%, and completely degraded for 10 days.

Abstract

Objectives We analyzed echocardiography and laboratory results of breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy with anthracycline agents, to find cardiotoxicity risk and prevalence among South Sumatra population. Background Improved cancer therapy and early disease detection, increase the survival rate, also increase risk of CTRCD, range between 2 and 48% for patient with breast cancer treated by anthracyclines. There was limited data about prevalence of CTRCD in South Sumatra. Study of demographic factors and potential laboratory cardiac marker in specific population will give others additional important information. Methods In 2024, from March until November, 30 breast cancer patients were included in this analysis. Age 51,50 (41-69) years. All patients were in anthracycline chemotherapy treatment in Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital. Data of demography, laboratory and echocardiography was collected at baseline and after 3 cycles of treatment. Results Data collection and analysis was processed in outpatient department of Brain and Heart Installation Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital. From 30 patient, cardiovascular risk factors was detected: hypertension 30%, diabetes 10%, dyslipidemia 13,3%, body mass index 23,32 (13,30- 31,18), and almost all patients were not smoker (96,7%). Baseline to serial echocardiography showed that anthracycline did not affect the decrease of left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) (p=0,212), but correlated with the decrease of left ventricle global longitudinal strain (GLS) (p<0,05). There were 16 patients with >15% global longitudinal strain (GLS) reduction, without significant clinical heart failure signs and symptoms, known as mild asymptomatic cancer-therapy related cardiac dysfunction (CTRCD). Laboratory examination showed anthracycline agent was not correlated with Troponin T (p=0,093), NT-pro BNP (p=0,150), Serum Iron (p= 0,775), Total Iron Binding Capacity (TIBC) (p=0,692) and Transferrin Saturation (p=0,748). Ferritin level was affected by anthracycline agents (p= 0,026). Conclusion Higher prevalence of CTRCD in South Sumatra population was found. There was low incidence of cardiovascular risk factors in this population, indicated stronger isolated effect of chemotherapy agent for cardiac dysfunction progression. GLS by echocardiography measurement remain to be a good marker for cardiotoxicity related anthracycline agents. Ferritin level is potential parameter in guiding the stages and strategies in cancer treatment. Keywords: anthracycline, cardiac dysfunction, global longitudinal strain, ferritin
