Abstract

In the current era of village autonomy, PADesa an important benchmark for the village's ability to organize and menujudkan village autonomy, also reflects the independence of a village because PADesa is a source of pure acceptance of the village. However, if walking is not optimal PADesa it will be difficult for the village to carry out the process of governance and development independently, without the support of other parties. This occurred in the village of Batang Batindih in optimizing its income receipts. Especially PADesa sourced from Land Kas village, so the village was not optimal in receiving the income generated from the land of the village of Kas. The purpose of this study was to determine the constraints and efforts in optimizing the village of Batang Batindih Pades sourced from Cash Land Village. The theory used in this research is autonomy village, Policies, and Institutions. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach. The technique used for collecting data are observation, interview, and documentation, then analyzed using descriptive analysis method. Source interviews in this study came from informants by using purposive sampling technique Informanyaitu parties know the constraints and the village of Batang Batindih efforts in optimizing the potential of the ground the village treasury. Results from this study indicate that the village of Batang Batindih has a huge potential source of income for villagers who came from the village of Kas Land. Constraints in optimizing cash income rural land in the village of Batang Batindih form; Village Regulation (Perdes) which has not been ratified, Perdes here synchronizes with the theory of Village Autonomy. The main key of Village Autonomy participation, proactive and community initiative and self-reliance. Implementation of institutional authority have not been up that includes; Low competence village government officials, as well as the level of public education is still low. Authority here synchronize with the policy theory. There are several characteristics of policies, namely; there must be tujuanya policy, the policy does not stand alone, the policy is what the government and the policy should be based on the law. Institutional capacity is not maximized village which includes; lack of capacity, initiative, creativity and tenggung responsible for the ground the village treasury. Here institutional synchronizes with institutional theory There are five (5) opinion regarding the institutional system; communications systems, economic systems, the system agreement, the system of authority and power sharing and ritual system to maintain social ties that ada.Sedangkan efforts to address these obstacles in the form; Increase community participation in the form; deliberation, rapat.partisipasi is associated with the theory of village autonomy. Abstract

On 10 January 2023, a strong earthquake with a moment magnitude (Mw) of 7.5 occurred in Banda Sea, Maluku Province. This earthquake caused casualties around the epicentre due to the building collapse which was not an earthquake-resistant structure. A high level of seismic vulnerability and non-standard infrastructure often result in large losses when earthquakes occur. Therefore, mapping of earthquake-prone areas needs to be carried out to optimize the mitigation efforts based on Peak Ground Acceleration (PGA) and Spectrum Acceleration (SA) values. In this paper, mitigation efforts are carried out by mapping earthquake-prone areas using Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Analysis (PSHA) which considers the potential of each complex earthquake source in Maluku Province. Input data was obtained from several earthquake catalogues such as Advanced National Seismic System (ANSS), International Seismological Center (ISC), and United States Geological Survey (USGS) which were processed and analyzed using the Matlab, ZMap, and R-CRISIS programs and mapped using the ArcMap program. The results of PSHA show that Maluku Province is a region with varying levels of earthquake vulnerability. The research results show that the distribution hazard value on PGA in Maluku Province reaches 0.02g to 0.48g for a return period of 500 years and 0.04g to 0.79g for a return period of 2,500 years and on SA for periods of 0.20 seconds and 1.00 second reaches 0.04g to 0.89g and 0.01g to 0.22g for a return period of 500 years and 0.07g to 1.48g and 0.02g to 0.35g for a return period of 2,500 years, respectively. The highest level of vulnerability is in the northern region including Seram Island, Way Apu Island and Ambon Island and the lowest level of vulnerability is in the eastern region including Aru Island.

Abstract

Income inequality remains a significant issue in developing countries like Indonesia, affecting societal well-being unevenly. Economic growth is often considered a key indicator of social welfare, but its benefits are not always distributed equitably. When economic growth coincides with high levels of income inequality, it suggests that only certain groups reap greater benefits while others are left behind. Therefore, it is essential to analyze whether there are disparities in the influence of economic growth on income inequality in Indonesia before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Using a random effects model and 12 years of data (2010–2021), this analysis reveals that economic growth does not significantly affect income inequality in Indonesia, challenging the Kuznets hypothesis. Domestic investment (DIN) also shows no influence on income inequality. In contrast, the human development index (HDI) consistently has a significant negative impact on income inequality across both periods. Meanwhile, foreign direct investment (FDI) positively impacts income inequality. There is no difference in the influence of HDI and FDI on income inequality before and during COVID-19. These findings emphasize the importance of improving human resource quality as an effective strategy for addressing income inequality, particularly by enhancing access to education, healthcare services, and overall social welfare.

Abstract

The northern coast of Java is a critical economic corridor in Indonesia but faces severe geotechnical and environmental challenges, including erosion, flooding, and land subsidence. In the Semarang–Demak Plain, land subsidence is a major concern due to thick, compressible clay deposits and shallow groundwater, which pose significant risks to infrastructure stability. The Semarang–Demak Toll Road, connecting Semarang City and Demak Regency, was constructed using two foundation systems: slab-on-pile and embankment with prefabricated vertical drains (PVD). At the interchange between Pantura Road and the toll road, a slab-on-pile foundation was selected to address high settlement risks. This study evaluates and compares the performance of both foundation types using one-dimensional analysis and two-dimensional finite element analysis (FEA). The results show that the slab-on-pile system experienced settlements of 0.519 m (one-dimensional analysis) and 0.775 m (FEA), while the embankment with PVD resulted in significantly higher settlements of 2.533 m (one-dimensional analysis) and 1.038 m (FEA). The slab-on-pile foundation also achieved a shorter consolidation period and a higher safety factor. These findings confirm the effectiveness of the slab-on-pile system in minimising settlement and improving long-term performance under challenging soil conditions. The study underscores the importance of selecting appropriate foundation strategies in subsidence-prone coastal areas and provides practical insights for infrastructure planning and geotechnical design in similar environments.
