Abstract

Coconut products in the District of Banyuasin traded in the form of dried meat coconut, coconut oil and coconut fruit (Dogan). These commodity products have little added value. One of the effort to improve the value-added coconut products are processed into soap aromatherapy. Methods of technology transfer is done by demonstration plots, followed by practice by theparticipants. Feasibility was assessed using the criteria of Net Present Value, Benefit Cost Ratio and sensitivity factors. This activity is done with the empowerment of housewives to the development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the Village Soap Aroma Therapy Gutters Hallows. The results showed the technology transfer can be easily absorbed bythe participants. Soap products packaged in various forms of packaging and have been sold on a small scale. The results of financial analysis shows this worthy effort developed by the BEP 440 units, B / C ratio of 2.63 and NPV of Rp. 870 000. Assessment of the sensitivity analysis showed this business remain profitable during the production cost increase does not exceed 33% or adecrease in the selling price does not exceed 16.875% of basic price calculation.

Abstract

The research aim is to explain the relationship of sociodemografic and health security to high-risk fertility behaviour. Parity, maternal age and birth interval are used as a criterion in determining the category of high-risk pregnancy. The age of first marriage, desired number of children, education level and health insurance are used as independen variables. This study was carried on quantitative approach and cross-sectionally held in Palembang during March to April 2014. A total of 124 intended-pregnancy of pregnant women interviewed while performing antenatal visits. Chi-Square analysis was used for interpretation. The results showed that an 80% of high-risk pregnancy taht occurs had single risk factor. The age of first marriage, desired number of children and health security was known had relationship to high-risk pregnancy. While, both education level was statistically insignificant differenciate the current high-risk pregnancy. It is necessary to conduct further research to examine the influnce of health security reform implementation to reproductive health development both in short term and long term effect.

Abstract

Karenina T, Defriyanti WT, Yesi D, Novriadhy D, Efriandi E. 2022. Inventory of pests and diseases oh horticultural plants in sriwijaya science techno park of South Sumatera. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang  27 Oktober 2022. pp. 513-523. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).The attack of plant pests is one of the limiting factors in the cultivation of horticultural crops in Sriwijaya Science Techno Park. Knowledge and monitoring of pests and diseases early can be an alternative control that can reduce crop yield loss economically. This study aimed to inventory and evaluate pest and disease control measures for horticultural crops at the Sriwijaya Science Techno Park site. The research was conducted at a horticultural crop cultivation site at the Sriwijaya Science Techno Park in March 2021. This research was conducted by field observation methods and literature studies. The results showed that 6 species of pests and 6 symptoms of plant disease attacks were found in the cultivation of horticultural crops (bitter gourd, red chili, long beans, tomatoes, bengkoang, and eggplant) at sriwijaya Science Techno Park. Pest and disease control with the application of synthetic pesticides had not paid attention to the exact dosage, method, and time of application. Knowledge and monitoring of pests are necessary to determine effective and efficient control techniques.

Abstract

Maryani, S., Novriadhy, D., & Karenina, T. (2024). The effect of peat soil compaction on physical properties at the Sriwijaya Botanical Gardens, South Sumatra. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-12 Tahun 2024, Palembang 21 Oktober 2024. (pp. 878–885). Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).The physical characteristics of the soil at each location are always different, especially for land that contains peat. The Sriwijaya Botanical Gardens of South Sumatra is a botanical garden on peat land with five functions, namely plant conservation, research, education, tourism and environmental services. These various functions will result in soil compaction which also affects the physical properties of peat soil, so research is needed to determine the effect of peat land compaction on the physical properties of the soil at the Sriwijaya Botanical Gardens of South Sumatra for planning the management of this land in the future. This research was conducted at the Sriwijaya Botanical Gardens in Bakung Village, Indralaya Utara District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra Province with a peat land type. Soil sampling was carried out using a soil sample ring at a soil depth of between 0-20 cm. The sample points were determined as many as 20 points on a land area of 100 hectares. The parameters of the physical characteristics of the soil observed were bulk density, soil pore space and water content. Observations of the physical characteristics of the soil were carried out at the Laboratory of the Soil Department, Sriwijaya University. The results of the study showed that the physical characteristics at several soil sampling locations in the peatlands of the Sriwijaya Botanical Gardens of South Sumatra varied, influenced by the function of the land before and after development, the depth of the peat, and the distance of the location from the canal. The physical characteristics of the soil bulk density value at the location ranged from 0.15 to 0.38; the soil pore space obtained with an average value of 93.68% and the saturated water content ranged from 66.68% - 98%). It is hoped that the identification of the physical characteristics of this land can be used as a reference material in the planning and management of peatlands at this location in the future.
