Abstract

The arrival of imported religions, Islam and Chistianity in particular, in West Kalimantan creates cultural dialectic and transformation within local indigenous Dayak’s culture and belief.  This article tries to explore on cultural interbreeding between Dayak indigenous culture and Islam in West Kalimantan, Indonesia. The findings have revealed that the interaction between local Dayak culture with variant of Islam creates new cultural identity such as Senganan Dayak in Semabi. This new identity is the consequence for those who convert to Islam as they do not abandon the Dayak identity. However, the massive conversion of Dayak to Islam does not necessarily imply the downgrading of identity from Dayak to Malay; instead they still remain to be Dayak in spite of their conversion to new religion. Another transformation occurred within tradition such as the ritual of “ngantar buah pulang (bring fruit home)”. This Dayak indigenous ritual is replaced with Islamic kind of thanksgiving ritual and replaces the spelling of magic spell with supplication to God Almighty.

Abstract

Da’wa is growing with the existence of communication media that continues to progress. Da’wa messages are increasingly diverse and packaged. Like the Muslim Travelers NET TV program, which is a traveling program that presents da’wa messages and is packaged according to the millennial generation. Therefore, in this study, we examine the message of da’wa on the Spanish edition of the Muslim Travelers NET TV program and the dominant message of da’wa. The method in this study uses descriptive quantitative content analysis to describe in detail a message. Using the thematic unit of analysis, based on the theme of the message of da’wa. Sources and types of data use videos of Muslim travelers traveling to Spain which consist of three videos. Using observation data collection techniques, direct observation of research objects and documentation, the data is then transcribed into primary data. After the data was collected, it was analyzed using SPSS version 16 for Windows. From the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the Spanish Travel Program Muslim Travelers NET TV program contains three elements of the message of preaching aqidah, morals and shari'ah. The message of faith is illustrated by an invitation to maintain faith, and show confidence, with a percentage of 34.3%. Moral messages show examples of behaving towards fellow humans with a percentage of 34.3%. And the Shari'ah message provides an example of how a Muslim implements Islamic Shari'ah in Spain with a percentage of 31.5%. This study only examines the message of the da’wa contained, further researchers can examine more deeply about the program.

Abstract

The focus of the problems studied in this thesis is: How is the message of da’wa contained in the Webtoon "Laa Tahzan: don't be sad" episode #71 - #80. The purpose of this is to find out the message of da’wa contained in the Webtoon "Laa Tahzan: don't be sad" episode #71 - #80. The method used in this research is the content analysis which is quantitative in nature, namely by recording the values ​​of numbers or frequencies to describe various types of defined content. The technique of collecting data is by observing and documenting further analysis according to predetermined indicators. In this study, the researcher conducted a content analysis of the da’wa messages contained in the Webtoon "Laa Tahzan: don't be sad" episode #71 - #80. After being calculated and analyzed, the results showed that the da’wa messages contained in the Webtoon were 28% in the form of creed messages, 60% in the form of moral messages, and 12% in the form of sharia messages. Then the message of the most dominant da’wa is the message of morality with a percentage of 60%.

Abstract

This study focuses on the growth and development of radicalism in the Lamongan Regency area and the forms and variants of co-religious conflicts in the Tuban Regency area. These two focuses do not intend to compare Lamongan and Tuban as study destinations but explore the two regions with different questions. The next focus is the da'wah model based on socio cultural capital in preventing radicalism and religious conflicts in Lamongan Regency and Tuban Regency. This research uses a qualitative approach with the type of grounded theory according to the stages of the type of research. Socio cultural capital is diverse and meaningful, stretching from the potential of natural resources, economy, culture, customs, arts, and religion. The results of the analysis show that the dominant factors that cause the growth of radical ideas in Lamongan Regency are limited religious knowledge and insight, mistakes in choosing teachers, low levels of economic welfare, provocation of online media, sectarianism, disappointment with social, political, economic and legal conditions, and weak government control over educational institutions and pesantren affiliated with radical groups. The form of religious conflict that occurred in Tuban Regency was a peaceful action, which is an action carried out by Muslims without violence in order to address sectarian and communal issues. The socio cultural capital of the Lamongan and Tuban communities has a diversity ranging from the potential of natural resources, economy, culture, customs, arts, and religion, giving birth to five da'wah models for preventing radicalism and religious conflicts. The five da'wah models in question are economic-based, institution-based, village-based mosques, pesantren, and based on local wisdom.

Abstract

This article discusses Gadamer's hermeneutics to understand and analyse the messages of Da’wa, including the rational importance of interconnection and integration between hermeneutic theories developed in the West and in Islamic world, especially regarding to the message of Da’wa in Islamic communication. In addition, the principal key issues to be addressed in this article are related to how the development of hermeneutic itself. The author argues that Gadamer's hermeneutics Ricoeur approach applied in the Islamic communication is able to be an alternative to delivering a message of Da’wah that is open, inclusive and constructive.Keywords: hermeneutics, Gadamer Ricoeur, analytical techniques, message of da’wa----------------------------------------------------------------------Artikel ini membahas tentang hermeneutika Gadamer untuk memahami dan menganalisis pesan dakwah, termasuk rasional pentingnya interkonneksi dan integrasi antara teori-teori hermeneutika yang berkembang di Barat dan khazanah keilmuan Islam, khususnya menyangkut pesan dakwah dalam komunikasi Islam. Selain itu, pokok perma–salahan utama yang akan dijawab dalam artikel ini adalah terkait dengan bagaimana perkembangan pemikiran herme–neutik itu sendiri. Penulis berpendapat bahwa pendekatan hermeneutika Gadamer Ricoeur yang diaplikasikan dalam komunikasi Islam ternyata dapat menjadi sebuah alternatif penyampaian pesan dakwah yang terbuka, inklusif dan mengandung pesan yang membangun.Kata Kunci: hermeneutika, Gadamer Ricoeur, teknik analisis, pesan dakwah

Abstract

ini mengungkap tentang pemikiran Gadamer bagi pengembangan pemahaman dan analisis teks dakwah. Selanjutnya juga memaparkan lebih lanjut rasionalitas pentingnya “interkonneksi” dan “integrasi” antara teori-teori hermeneutika yang berkembang di Barat dan khazanah keilmuan Islam, khususnya ilmu dakwah dalam memahami teks atau pesan dakwah.  Pokok permasalahan utama yang akan dijawab adalah berkisaran pada “hermeneutika” dan bagaimana perkembangan pemikiran hermeneutik itu sendiri. Dari pemaparannya ditemukan bahwa aplikasi hermeneutika Dadmer yang diaplikasikan dalam dakwah ternyata dapat menjadi sebuah alternatif penyampaian pesan dakwah yang terbuka, inklusif dan mengandung pesan yang membangun. Kata Kunci: Hermeunetika Gadamer; Pesan Dakwah
