Abstract

Pembuatan Beton Ringan Dari Aggregat Buatan Berbahan Plastik Making Lightweight Aggregate Concrete From Artificial PlasticErwin Rommel Jurusan Teknik Sipil Fakultas Teknik Universitas Muhammadiyah MalangJalan Raya Tlogomas 246 Malang 65144email : erwin67pro@yahoo.com ABSTRACTPlastic is the type of waste non-biodegradable, although in the long term. It is therefore necessary to use plastic waste soon This research begins with the manufacture of aggregate through the choppe  process, heating and molding of High Density Polyethylene  plastic waste into piece of aggregate size of 20 mm. Then test the characteristics of aggregate, mix design and provide concrete with heat treatment at each temperature 30, 45, 60, 75, 90 and 1100 C. The test of results obtained plastic aggregate specific gravity 1.15; bulk density  1378 kg/m3; aggregate abrasion  29.64% explained that the aggregate  can be used as the lightweight concrete. Lightweight concrete made   with a mix design ratio of cement: sand: aggregate of plastic 1:2:1,5 and fas 0.35  obtained maximum compressive strength of 13.16 MPa so that the concrete in the category for the use of lightweight structures such as wall panels, concrete  sills , cladding. Appropriate use of lightweight concrete for structures that are protected because of the high temperatures can reduce the strength of concrete. High absorption rate of 8.043% and a porosity of 10.7%  suggested the use of lightweight concrete in areas that have low levels of humidity.Keywords: Lightweight concrete, plastic artificial aggregate, compressive strength ABSTRAKPlastik adalah jenis sampah non-biodegradable, meskipun dalam jangka panjang. Oleh karena itu perlu menggunakan sampah plastik segera Penelitian ini dimulai dengan pembuatan agregat melalui proses Choppe, pemanasan dan molding dari High Density Polyethylene sampah plastik menjadi bagian dari ukuran agregat dari 20 mm. Kemudian menguji karakteristik agregat, campuran desain dan menyediakan beton dengan perlakuan panas pada setiap suhu 30, 45, 60, 75, 90 dan 1100 C. Pengujian hasil yang diperoleh plastik berat jenis agregat 1,15; bulk density 1378 kg / m3; abrasi agregat 29,64% menjelaskan bahwa agregat dapat digunakan sebagai beton ringan. Beton ringan dibuat dengan rasio desain campuran semen: pasir: agregat plastik 1: 2: 1,5 dan fas 0,35 diperoleh kuat tekan maksimum 13,16 MPa sehingga beton dalam kategori penggunaan struktur ringan seperti panel dinding , kusen beton, cladding. Penggunaan yang tepat beton ringan untuk struktur yang dilindungi karena suhu tinggi dapat mengurangi kekuatan beton. Tingkat penyerapan tinggi 8,043% dan porositas 10,7% menyarankan penggunaan beton ringan di daerah yang memiliki tingkat kelembaban yang rendah.Kunci-kata: Beton ringan, plastik agregat buatan, kuat tekan

Abstract

Paving block most use in construction such as pavement, highway and parking area. Ease onsetting, cheap of treatment and aesthetic fully cause of paving block such as like. Production ofpaving block is not optimally from quality, because paving block still from the home industryproduct. The research is given production paving block with FCA (fine coarse aggregate) materialalternative another sand and cement. The strength paving block testing at some paving productwith full-pressing method, partial-pressing method and vibrating method.The research was done in UMM Laboratory and Home Industry. The six series paving blockconsist of cement : sand : FCA are 1:4:0, 1:4:3, 1:4:5, 1:8:0, 1:8:3, 1:8:5 respectively. Each variantwas made with pressing method (40, 60, 80 and 100 kg/cm2 respectively) and vibrating method,such as fully and partially method with totally specimen are 540 (each series was made 3 specimen).Curing method is done with spray water surface on paving block of age ; 7, 14, and 21 days,respectively.FCA paving block with full-pressing method can reach paving quality grade II, strength 276kg/cm2 at ratio 1:4:3, for partial-pressing maximum strength happened at ratio 1:4:0 (paving nonFCA) with strength 283 kg/cm2. The pressing method is better to compare with vibrating method,compression strength more than 200 kg/cm2, for partial-vibrating method (maximum strength is199 kg/cm2 at ratio 1:4:5, 21 day) strength result is better to compare with full-vibrating (strengthis 163 kg/cm2 at ratio 1:8:0, 21 day)
