Eclectism in architecture is seen as an emerging style driven by the desire or effort to immitate and apply elements of interest to compose a new form at architecture. Ecletic architecture has also developed in South Borneo. The mansory houses are evidence of ecleticsm development process in local architecture. Merchants holds an inportant role in this eclectism process, due to intensive cultural contacts inherited within this society. The intensity of the cultural contact plays a substantial part form the aculturation process. This intensity of cultural contact is the main part of alculturation process, which increased after the fall of Banjar Kingdom in mid 19th century.

South Kalimantan has great underwater potential, water accidents often occur in South Kalimantan and the needs for marine tourism in South Kalimantan do not coincide with the pre-existing diving facilities. Diving activities also have quite good interest but have experienced a decline and the Dive Center that has been established still has incomplete infrastructure facilities, so a complete space is needed to attract public interest in diving activities. So that the use of the concept of education and recreation for the Dive Center can become a place to practice and learn as well as introduce and develop diving activities. The aim of this design is to develop an existing Dive Center so that it is able to accommodate training and learning activities as well as being an educational and recreational facility with a functional architectural approach. It is hoped that the existence of this Dive Center can meet the needs, develop and introduce diving activities to the community.

However, there are some that are known to be frequent obstacles, including the unavailability of place and facilities, and environments that tend to be determinative. This situation is feared will reduce the interest of teenagers in exploring their potential interests and talents more freely. This is the background of the need to procure a place in the form of a youth center that has a function for accommodating these development activities but also offers a fun atmosphere, dynamic and flexible, so that teens can comfortably carry out their activities. The method that is used is an architectural psychology approach by observing the characteristics of teenagers as a design reference. This is manifested by the concept of a youth cultural space that is applied to architectural elements in both indoor and outdoor space.
