Abstract

This research has isolated one type of halophilic bacterial strain from the salt pond of Kajhu Village with the code KJ-AB2. This bacterium grew optimally at 10% (w/v) NaCl so it was classified as moderate halophilic bacteria. Several types of halophilic bacteria are known to produce biosurfactants. Biosurfactants are surface active agents that are widely used in several pharmaceutical, food dan petroleum industries. The production of biosurfactants is strongly influenced by the type of carbon source used for bacterial growth. Olive oil, palm oil, sunflower oil, glucose dan glycerol are types of carbon sources used to see their effect in producing biosurfactants. This isolate growed well on the five carbon sources with an average OD600 2.001±0.293 at 72 hours of fermentation. Biosurfactant production was measured by oil spreading test (OST) every 24 hours until 120 hours of fermentation. The highest OST value was obtained when KJ-AB2 isolate was grown on biosurfactant production media using olive oil, sunflower oil dan palm oil with an average OST value of 5.6±0.6 cm, 4.7±0.6 cm, dan 4.6±0.7 cm, respectively.

Abstract

Korosi logam terjadi melalui reaksi elektrokimia simultan membentuk rangkaian arus listrik tertutup pada wilayah anoda dan katoda, penambahan inhibitor dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu cara untuk menghambat korosi. Ekstrak bunga dadap merah dapat berfungsi dengan baik sebagai inhibitor alami untuk mencegah korosi pada besi, baik pada media air akuades maupun air laut. Pengaruh perbedaan konsentrasi ekstrak bunga dadap merah yang diberikan memberikan efek penurunan bertambahnya massa logam Fe. Pada ekstrak konsentrasi 20%, mula-mula berat paku 2,484 gram menjadi 2,488 gram pada media air akuades dan 2,436 gram menjadi 2,442 gram pada media air laut. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa besar konsentrasi, maka proses terjadinya korosi sangat sulit terjadi.

Abstract

The cytotoxicity of fishes resulting from the presence of various industrial dyes in industrial effluents is a significant global concern. This study aims to synthesize Reduced Graphene Oxide (RGO) using a natural reducing agent from lime juice. The synthesis process uses a modified Hummer method. The Langmuir and Freundlich Isothermal equations are used to study the adsorption character of MG using RGO. The adsorption kinetics was studied using first and second order equations. The adsorption capacity was measured with concentration 2, 10, 50, and 100 mg L-1 of MG respectively. The results obtained are for the adsorption isotherms following Langmuir and Freundlich. ΔG° shows a negative value which means the adsorption process is spontaneous. The adsorption kinetics follows the first order equation. The adsorption capacity obtained was Qm = 223.21 mg g−1 and a contact time of 20 minutes which made it a strong adsorbent for removing MG from water samples. The removal efficiency of MG by prepared adsorbents from real environmental water sample on the Ulee Lheue beach, Alue Naga beach, and the Krueng Aceh river has been implemented. Abstract

Heavy metals are frequently employed in a variety of industries, including industry, agriculture, food processing, and domestic appliances. Heavy metal concentrations will be extremely high in locations with residential, mining, and manufacturing activity. The concentration of heavy metals in fish reflects the state of heavy metal pollution in the ecosystem. Heavy metal accumulation in aquatic creatures' organs can occasionally exceed the level of heavy metals in their environment. The purpose of this literature review is to give information on the bioaccumulation of heavy metals in fish in Indonesian seas. 38 fish species were recorded, and literacy parameters in the form of sample locations and levels, units and types of heavy metals discovered were summarized. Pb > Cd > Hg > Cu > As > Zn > Cr > Mn > Fe is the order of metal abundance discovered. It is advised that heavy metal contamination studies be carried out in the future as part of the government's strategy for tracking down this problem.

Abstract

It is one of the important and potential economic products of Aceh province. Wild crabs have great potential and prospects for aquaculture development. This can be seen from the large number of ponds in Banda Aceh city. Currently, the mangrove crab farming model using a floating cage system is the most popular in Aceh. The problem is that natural conditions cannot be controlled, so water quality changes drastically, making it difficult for farming to achieve success above 80%. Syiah Kuala University Aquaculture Research Program Community Services Group has developed a mangrove crab farming unit with a vertical apartment system equipped with a water circulation system or RAS. The apartment system is designed with 4 floors, each floor has 10 crab boxes. The time it takes for crabs to molt during spawning is 15-20 days with a survival rate of 80-90%. Hopefully this technology transfer to partners will become an educational model for mangrove crab farmers in Cot Lamkuweueh village, Banda Aceh city.
