Abstract

The spreads of coronavirus bring major impact on travel and tourism sectors. The lockdown policy and travel restriction has ban people from traveling. The areas quarantine in West Sumatera has decrease numbers of visitors visiting tourism attractions. More people staying at home because of the coronavirus pandemic resulting the needs of alternative way of traveling becomes necessary. This research will explore the alternative ways of travelling during the pancemic. The research finding is that virtual tourism can be one of the alternative ways of traveling for tourists.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the Event Management of the Pasa Harau Art & Culture Festival. The data analysis method used in this research was a descriptive method. The data collection techniques were observation, interviews, documentation and literature review The results of this study concluded that in event management there are five important stages, namely Research, Design, Planning, Coordination and Evaluation. The stages contained in the event management of the Pasa Harau Art & Culture Festival are as follows: 1) Research, this festival research carried out by several people who are members of the Culture-based Festival community, 2) The event design is based on the cultural richness and natural beauty of Nagari Harau, 3) Planning, this stage for Pasa Harau Festival starts one year before the Pasa Harau event is held, 4) Coordination involves the stakeholders and internal organizing committee, and 5) Evaluation discusses event reporting, event monitoring and evaluation of the whole event.

Abstract

The pandemic has shifted the pattern of organizing events and has to adapt to new habits, namely holding the events in a virtual way. This shift has an impact on students who often take part in offline events to online or virtual. This study aims to see the extent to which Politeknik Negeri Padang students are familiar with virtual events. Data collection techniques were carried out through a questionnaire by looking at four indicators, namely informational, experiential, self-rated, and educational. The results showed that the majority of Politeknik Negeri Padang students receive information about virtual tour through social media. The majority of students have participated in virtual events and think they are quite familiar with virtual events. The study also found that most students gained knowledge about virtual events when they took formal education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan mengenai model pembelajaran berbasis proyek dan untuk mengetahui gambaran persepsi mahasiswa Program Studi Destinasi Pariwisata terhadap model pembelajaran berbasis proyek. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan menggunakan kuesioner sebagai instrument penelitian. Subyek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa yang mengambil mata kuliah Manajemen Acara. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah model pembelajaran Project Based Learning (PjBL) sangat sesuai diterapkan di mata kuliah Manajemen Acara Prodi Destinasi Pariwisata.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought the development of the tourism industry to a very low point. With social restrictions, people are expected not to travel in advance and can keep their distance. This research aims to further deepen public understanding regarding virtual tourism and its use in the city of Padang during the lockdown at various tourist objects. This research found that the government introduced virtual tourism as an alternative amid distance restrictions, because tourist can enjoy the tourism object without having to be physically present. The availability of many media that can be used as tools in displaying virtual tourism. This research provides suggestions so that the relevant government can provide socialization to the community so that virtual tourism can be used as an alternative to traveling during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Virtual tour is a tourism activity that is carried out through web browsing using media such as images or videos to provide users with the feeling of being in the tourist destination. This activity can also be used as a means to promote tourist attractions. One group that is expected to adopt this virtual tour technology is Kelompok Sadar Wisata (Pokdarwis), as this group has a role in promoting local tourist attractions.  Virtual tour is a relatively low-cost promotional tool compared to other promotional media, yet with a wider reach of audience. This research aims to identify the understanding and ability of Pokdarwis Padang City related to the acceptance of virtual tour technology. This study was conducted through questionnaires involving 48 leaders and members of Pokdarwis of Padang City, where technical knowledge, ease of use, and perception of the benefits of virtual tour formed the basis of the questions. Descriptive analysis results show that the majority of Pokdarwis members lack of adequate knowledge of virtual tour and the appropriate use of technology in creating virtual tour. On the other hand, Pokdarwis members are already able to use social media but lack of adequate technical skills in creating virtual tour content.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe tourist satisfaction on Pamutusan Island. The title of this research is Analysis of Tourist Satisfaction on Pamutusan Island, Padang City. this research will be conducted using the google form platform as a distribution medium that will be developed as a data collection instrument. This research goes into Descriptive research with Quantitative data. In this study the population was tourists who had visited Pamutusan Island Padang, with a sample of 100 people with non-probability sampling techniques with sampling based on age criteria over 18 years. Abstract

Pengaruh teknologi dapat merubah cara transaksi dalam dunia bisnis. Masyarakat tidak ingin membuang waktu dan tenaga dalam melakukan transkasi. Hal ini membuat banyak bisnis menyediakan barang dan jasa mereka melalui internet. RF Studio yang merupakan sebuah perusahaan yang bergerak dalam penyediaan jasa dokumentasi pernikahan juga ingin memanfaatkan teknologi internet untuk mempromosikan bisnisnya. Karena selama ini konsumen tidak mendapatkan informasi yang lengkap mengenai paket foto yang ada di RF Studio. Selain itu permasalah lainnya adalah dalam penentuan harga terkadang hubungan kekerabatan masih menjadi bahan pertimbangan yang mengakibatkan kurang konsistennya pembayaran penuh. Dari permasalahan tersebut peniliti memberi solusi berupa sistem informasi administrasi jasa foto pernikahan berbasis web agar konsumen bisa langsung melihat informasi lengkap mengenai paket foto dan sekaligus bisa memesan secara online.

Abstract

Sumatera Barat yang merupakan etnis Minangkabau memiliki pekerjaan utama berdagang. Berdagang tersebut merupakan bagian dari kegiatan berwirausaha. Sebagai etsnis yang sukses dalam mengangkat profesi ini perlu diperkenalkan bagaimana Langkah dan usaha yang dilakukan oleh etnis Minangkabau meciptakan lapangan pekerjaan sebagai wirausaha yang sukses dan sekaligus memasarkan produk-produk unggulan yang menjadi ciri khas Sumatera Barat. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Selayang Community College Malaysia dan Politeknik Sultan Indris Syah Ampang Malaysia. Langkah yang dilakukan mencakup beberapa bagian. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan budaya etnik Minangkabau dalam berwirausaha dan cara mengajarkan mata kuliah Kewirausahaan di Jurusan Administrasi Niaga Politeknik Negeri Padang pada mahasiswa. Tahap yang dilakukan persiapan, berkoordinasi dengan kedua mitra, dan pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian. Dengan memperkenalkan produk-produk UMKM yang sukses memasuki pasar dan direncanakan untuk memasuki pasar ekspor ke luar negeri. Transfer pengetahuan tersebut mendapat respon yang baik dari kedua mitra yang ada di Malaysia ini. Diharapkan dengan adanya pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini menambah pengetahuan dan pedoman keberhasilan etnis Minangkabau menciptakan wirausaha yang sukses dalam menciptakan lapangan pekerjaan.
