Abstract

Abstract This community service activity aims to provide counseling and share knowledge to the community related to the electricity sector, especially in the field of saving electrical energy. Because without realizing it, more and more electrical equipment owned without knowing how to optimize its use will make electricity consumption more wasteful. Coupled with the pandemic conditions where everyone works from home will result in a spike in electricity consumption at home. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out energy-saving procedures and patterns so that electricity consumption can be reduced. The methods used are lectures, questions and answers, and practice skills in Saving the Use of Household Electricity. The activity is carried out continuously by continuing to provide an understanding that saving electrical energy starts from small things and will feel the benefits if it is carried out continuously and repeatedly. The results of the service show that there is an average increase in understanding of energy saving by 11.62 points or 31% and a maximum value of 23% by 15 points to 80 points. This shows that people are increasingly understanding the importance of saving energy and knowing how to do it.

Abstract

Abstract Electricity is a tool that is needed in various fields. People's dependence on electricity can be said to be quite high. On the one hand, we need to increase awareness of the dangers of electricity and the best way is through an increased understanding of the nature of the electricity we use. By identifying that damaged electrical installations can be dangerous for its users and these hazards can also trigger fires, to overcome it requires a solution to increase community competence in rw 02 cipinang village south of jatinegara district of east Jakarta in understanding the maintenance and repair of simple electrical installations.. Through training on maintenance and repair of residential electrical installations for the community, it is hoped that the problem of damage to electrical installations can be resolved. In this training, several methods were used to maximize participants' understanding of the material, the first method used was the lecture method, the demonstration/assignment method, the discussion and question and answer method, and the practical skills method. From the results of the service, it can be said that education is going very well, as evidenced by the increase in the post-test score of 69.4% from the pre-test as evidence of the community's enthusiasm for this service activity. Abstract

Split air conditioners are one of the most commonly used air conditioning systems due to their compact design and flexible installation. The system consists of two units connected by copper pipes as a refrigerant circulation line. This study presents a comparative analysis of the thermodynamic performance of split AC on pipe length variations using three refrigerants, R32, R410A, and R290, with a simulation approach based on CoolProp v6.4 and REFPROP v10.0 software. The length variations of the tested pipes are 15, 20, 25, and 30 m with operating conditions according to ISO 5151:2017 standards. The parameters evaluated included cooling capacity (Qe), input power (Pinput), energy efficiency ratio (EER), and pressure drop (Δp). The accuracy of both software is measured using MAPE and RMSE metrics against manual calculations as a reference. The simulation results showed that the increase in pipe length led to an average decrease in Qe of 10.3-10.4% from the 15 m to 30 m pipe length in all three refrigerants. R290 recorded the highest EER (3.87-3.48), followed by R32 (3.72-3.33), and R410A (3.36-3.01). R410A produces the largest pressure drop (25.87 kPa at 30 m), while R290 has the lowest pressure drop (12.56 kPa). Accuracy analysis showed that REFPROP was more accurate than CoolProp on all parameters with an average MAPE difference of 0.57%, although the difference between the two was relatively small. Large deviations in the Δp parameter (>168%) are due to fundamental flow model differences, not thermodynamic errors. The results of this study provide a scientific reference in the selection of the optimal refrigerant and simulation software for split air conditioning installations with varying pipe lengths.

Abstract

The growing use of electric bicycles for urban transportation creates a need to select motor capacity according to performance and energy requirements. Motor power affects speed, electrical demand, battery operating duration, and travel range; therefore, a higher-rated motor does not necessarily provide the most efficient configuration. This study compares 350 W and 500 W brushless direct current motors installed alternately on the same electric bicycle platform. The objective was to evaluate the relationship between motor power, rider load, speed performance, mileage, battery discharge time, terminal voltage, current consumption, and electrical power consumption under controlled comparative conditions. Experiments used the same Selis Murai bicycle platform, 48 V 12 Ah battery, 48 V 500 W controller, and 16 x 2.5 wheel size. Five rider loads of 60, 70, 80, 90, and 100 kg were tested on a relatively flat route repeatedly traversed until the battery discharge limit was reached. Maximum speed, average speed, mileage, battery operating duration, terminal voltage, current, and electrical input power were evaluated using descriptive comparison and linear trend analysis. The 500 W motor achieved 20.89% higher maximum speed and 5.5% higher average speed than the 350 W motor. However, its battery operating duration was 16.51% shorter. Across the five load conditions, the 350 W motor provided an average load-wise mileage advantage of 13.08% and consumed approximately 35.5% less current and 37.3% less electrical power. Increasing rider load reduced speed, mileage, battery operating duration, and terminal voltage while increasing current and power demand. These findings demonstrate a clear trade-off between speed performance and electrical energy use. The 500 W configuration is preferable when higher speed is prioritized, whereas the 350 W configuration is more suitable for longer range, longer operating duration, and lower electrical consumption in daily urban use
