Abstract

Mahagony is one of plants that could fill the needs of wood in Indonesia. The need of wood recently reached 10 million m3 per year. Basically Mahagony plants were very well associated with endomycorrhizal, but there was study that showed the Mahagony plants were able to associated with ectomycorrhizae spore. The aims of this studied were to determine the effected of ectomycorrhizae on Mahagony plant seedlings and the best dose of ectomycorrhyzae inoculation to improved the growth of Mahagony plants. This study was carried out in the greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung on October 2017 - March 2018. The method used is completely randomized design with 4 treatments, 5 replications and 5 units of each experimental unit so that the entire plant amount were 100 experimental units. The dosage applied in this research were 0 ml/polybag, 10 ml / polybag, 20 ml / polybag and 30 ml / polybag. Parameters observed in this study were leaf area, height, diameter, number of leaves, root length, percentage of colonization, and dry weight. The research data obtained then analyzed using a homogenity test, Bartlett test and then proceed with smallest real difference test. The results showed that giving of ectomycorrhizae at a dose of 20 ml/polybag and 30 ml/polybag significantly affected to have higher percentage of colonization than the dose of 10 ml/polybag which is equal 0.67% to 0.84%. In leaf area parameter, the application of ectomycorrhizae with dossages of 30 ml.polybag, significantly showed the lowest leaf area compare to other treatments. It conclude that mahagony plants were not compatible with ectomycorrhizae there for percentage of inoculation in mahagony plants seeds was low and could not help plant grow.

Abstract

Kondisi lahan yang kritis merupakan masalah yang banyak ditemukan dalam upaya pengembangan hutan tanaman.Permasalahan ini dapat ditangani dengan menggunakan bahan bahan pembenah tanah yang alami seperti mikoriza dan asam humat.Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat pengaruh penambahan mikoriza jenis Scleroderma sp dan asam humat terhadap pertumbuhan semai Merbau.Penelitian ini diacak menggunakansusunan RAL Faktorial, yang terdiri dari dua faktor, yaitu konsentrasi asam humat dan dosis Scleroderma sp. Dosis Scleroderma sp yang digunakan sebanyak  0 ml dan 20 ml, sedangkan konsentrasi asam humat yang digunakan sebanyak 0 ppm, 1500 ppm, 2000 ppm dan 2500ppm. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis menggunakan analisis varian dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan.Penelitian ini menunjukkan pengaruh aplikasi asam humat yang  secara nyata meningkatkan tinggi, diameter, dan berat kering total semai merbau. Inokulasi mikoriza secara nyata meningkatkan diameter dan berat kering total.Sedangkan interaksi asam humat dan mikoriza secara nyata meningkatkan persen kolonisasi, luas daun, berat kering pucuk, dan panjang akar.Penambahan asam humat 2000 ppm dan mikoriza 20 ml memberikan nilai terbaik untuk pertumbuhan semai merbau dan kolonisasi mikoriza.

Abstract

Community forest of Bina Wana is one of the forest areas in West Lampung which is divided into three land covers namely primary forest, agroforestry, and annual crops. The differences amoung the land cover affect the ecological role, therefore it is important to figour out the carbon stock in order to determine the potential of environmental services. The purpose of the study was to find out the important values index and carbon stock in community forest of Bina Wana. Sampling was taken using the cluster sampling method based on differences in land cover classes. Carbon stock was estimeted by using allometric equations and biomass calculation. The result of the research showed that the highest important values index in primary forest for tree phase was Joho (Terminalia bellirica) (53,35%), for pole phase (24,23%), sapling (171,18%) and understorey (67,08%), namely Tenam species (Shorea platiclados).  The highest important values index on agroforestry was Cempaka (Michelia champaca) (54,37%) to tree, Pulai (Alstonia scholaris) (120,48%) to pole, Coffee (Coffea canephora) (214,45%) to sapling, and Wedusan (Ageratum conyzoide) (105,68%) to understorey. As with the annual crop land, only rice plants (Oryza sativa) (200%) were found in the understorey phase. The average carbon stock for primary forest were (284,15 tons / ha), agroforestry (74,89 tons / ha) and annual crops (1.42 tons / ha) with total carbon stock of fore whole area was (360,46 tons / ha)

Abstract

Desa Hanura Terletak di Kecamatan Teluk Pandang Kabupaten Pesawaran yang merupakan Desa transmigran yang berada di provinsi Lampung, lahan pekarangan yang dimiliki masyakarat  masih sangat luas sehingga bisa dimanfaatkan untuk menanam tanaman dengan pola agroforestri dengan harapan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan jangka pendek maupun jangka panjang, salah satunya dengan tanaman pala,  pala yang memiliki nilai ekonomi yang tinggi karena dapat dimanfaatkan dari biji buah dan fulinya  yang digunakan sebagai bahan industri minuman, makanan, farmasi dan kosmetik  tujuan dari pengabdian ini  memberikan wawasan tetang pentingnya  pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan secara optimal khususnya kombinasi dengan tanaman pala. Beradsarkan hasil pengabdian pada masyarakat desa hanura pengetahuan masyakarakat tentang peng optimalan lahan pekarangan semakin meningkat selain antara 15 % hingga 50 % selain itu masyakat Desa Hanura yang selama ini hanya tau manfaat buah pala dari buah bagian dalam dengan adanya kegiatan pengabdian ini masyakarat makin banyak mengetahui kompon-komponen yang bisa dimanfaatkan dari pohon pala

Abstract

Mangrove ecotourism is a form of optimal utilization of forest resources by taking into account the elements of conservation, education, and local communities. The limited knowledge of the community in its management can resulted in these tourist destinations being less attractive to visitors. The purpose of this community service activity is to increase public knowledge and awareness in developing mangrove ecotourism and explore opportunities and challenges to its management. This activity was held on August 8, 2021 in Margasari Village, Labuhan Maringgai District, East Lampung Regency. The method applied is group meetings through focus group discussions whose implementation includes three stages, namely material presentation, discussion, and evaluation. The results of the service showed that the knowledge and understanding of the community increased significantly based on the results of the pretest, posttest, and evaluation of process during the activity. This activity makes people aware that there are a lot of potentials that can be optimized in the management of mangrove ecotourism in order to create a tourist village that is attractive, creative, innovative, and able to support the economy of the surrounding community. Ekowisata mangrove merupakan suatu bentuk pemanfaatan sumberdaya hutan secara optimal dengan memperhatikan unsur konservasi, edukasi, dan masyarakat lokal. Keterbatasan pengetahuan masyarakat dalam pengelolaannya dapat mengakibatkan destinasi wisata tersebut kurang diminati pengunjung. Tujuan dilakukannya kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran masyarakat dalam mengembangkan ekowisata mangrove serta menggali peluang maupun tantangan terhadap pengelolaannya. Pengabdian ini dilaksanakan pada 8 Agustus 2021 di Desa Margasari, Kecamatan Labuhan Maringgai, Kabupaten Lampung Timur. Metode yang diterapkan adalah pertemuan kelompok melalui Focus Group Discussion yang pelaksanaannya meliputi tiga tahapan, yaitu pemaparan materi, diskusi, dan evaluasi. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan dan pemahaman masyarakat meningkat secara signifikan berdasarkan hasil pretest, posttest, dan evaluasi proses selama kegiatan berlangsung. Kegiatan ini menyadarkan masyarakat bahwa banyak potensi yang dapat dioptimalkan dalam pengelolaan ekowisata mangrove agar tercipta desa wisata yang menarik, kreatif, inovatif, dan mampu menopang perekonomian masyarakat sekitar.
