Abstract

Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic that forces restrictions on movement between people is thought to impact the utilization of yards in urban areas positively. However, there is not much information about yard management practices, including plant species managed by urban communities. In the framework of biodiversity conservation, this research aims to explore the variety of plant species planted in the yards, the area of ​​managed yards, and the planting motivation of the urban community, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research was conducted from May to August 2020 using an online questionnaire (Google Form), and direct interviews with target respondents consisted of communities spread across two major cities in Lampung Province, i.e. Metro City and Bandar Lampung City. The research findings showed that only 8% of respondents planted various useful plant species during the COVID-19 pandemic, while the rest of them planted long before the pandemic occurred. The plant groups that the respondents commonly owned were ornamental plants (70%), while 30% of the existing species were medicinal plants and spices. The motivations included enjoying the yield (herbs and medicine), filling the spare time, enjoy gardening and love plants, making the house beautiful and cool, and even planting it for sale. Of the five planting goals or motivations of the urban community, the motivation to enjoy the yield was the highest, followed by the desire to have a beautiful yard and enjoy gardening. Abstract

Desa Hanura Terletak di Kecamatan Teluk Pandang Kabupaten Pesawaran yang merupakan Desa transmigran yang berada di provinsi Lampung, lahan pekarangan yang dimiliki masyakarat  masih sangat luas sehingga bisa dimanfaatkan untuk menanam tanaman dengan pola agroforestri dengan harapan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan jangka pendek maupun jangka panjang, salah satunya dengan tanaman pala,  pala yang memiliki nilai ekonomi yang tinggi karena dapat dimanfaatkan dari biji buah dan fulinya  yang digunakan sebagai bahan industri minuman, makanan, farmasi dan kosmetik  tujuan dari pengabdian ini  memberikan wawasan tetang pentingnya  pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan secara optimal khususnya kombinasi dengan tanaman pala. Beradsarkan hasil pengabdian pada masyarakat desa hanura pengetahuan masyakarakat tentang peng optimalan lahan pekarangan semakin meningkat selain antara 15 % hingga 50 % selain itu masyakat Desa Hanura yang selama ini hanya tau manfaat buah pala dari buah bagian dalam dengan adanya kegiatan pengabdian ini masyakarat makin banyak mengetahui kompon-komponen yang bisa dimanfaatkan dari pohon pala

Abstract

ABSTRAKLahan pascatambang merupakan lahan terbuka yang mudah terdegradasi, sehingga perlu dilakukan revegetasi terutama jenis legum cover crop. Tujuan penelitian yaitu melakukan perbanyakan legume cover crop Desmodium triflorum pada beberapa media. Analisis data menggunakan Anova dengan software SPSS versi 10.01. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan media memberikan pengaruh sangat nyata terhadap daya kecambah, rata-rata hari berkecambah, tinggi kecambah, serta jumlah daun tanaman Desmodium trifolium, tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah benih berkecambah. Perlakuan media tanah campuran arang sekam pada Desmodium trifolium memberikan nilai terbaik terhadap rata-rata daya kecambah (33,33%), rata-rata hari berkecambah (9,41 hari), rata-rata tinggi kecambah (9,91 cm) dan rata-rata jumlah daun (7,34 helai), bila dibandingkan dengan perlakuan media tanah campuran dengan serbuk kayu gergaji. Kata kunci: tumbuhan penutup tanah; Desmodium trifolium; media tumbuh ABSTRACTPost-mining land is open land that is easily degraded, so it is necessary to conduct revegetation, especially using cover crop legumes. This study aimed to propagate the legume cover crop Desmodium triflorum on several media. The data was analysed using ANOVA with SPSS software version 10.01. The results showed that the media treatment had a very significant effect on germination, average days of germination, germination height, and the number of leaves of Desmodium trifolium plants, but not significant effect on the number of germinated seeds. The soil treatment with husk charcoal mixed to Desmodium trifolium indicated the best average germination, average germination day, average germination height, and average number of leaves with (33.33%), (9.41 days), (9.91 cm) and (7.34 pieces), respectively, when compared to the mixed soil media with sawdust treatment.Keywords: legume cover crop; Desmodium trifolium; growth media

Abstract

Human activity has reduced natural forests in Indonesia and triggered their transformation into, for example, jungle rubber land, as is often found in the Jambi Province of Central Sumatera. Forming jungle rubber through successional processes involves important pioneer trees such as Alstonia scholaris. The pioneer species' performance is influenced by site factors, the initial biodiversity status, cultivation treatment, and management inputs. The study reported here was conducted to assess leaf morphological variation of A. scholaris as preliminary indicators of difference in response and growth performance in several CRC990 plots (50 m x 50 m) of two distinct landscapes: Bukit Dua Belas National Park and Harapan Rain Forest. Results of the analysis of variance showed that the difference in landscapes gave rise to a significant effect on leaf morphology variable NV (venation number) for A. scholaris. Differences between plots within the landscapes were significant in the variables venation number (NV) and petiole ratio (PR) for A. Scholaris. The results of the distribution of leaf morphological variation in A. scholaris based on multivariate analyses (PCA) showed no clustering due to landscape effects.

Abstract

Rotala merupakan salah satu marga tumbuhan gulma air yang termasuk dalam suku Lythraceae. Eksplorasi botani yang dilakukan pada April megnungkap adanya satu jenis Rotala yang tumbuh meliar dan ternaturalisasi di Desa Parakan, Kabupaten Bogor. Identifikasi morfologi menunjukkan bahwa jenis tersebut merupakan Rotala rotundifolia. Jenis ini memiliki distribusi alami dari India ke wilayah beriklim sedang di Asia Timur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melaporkan keberadaan R. rotundifolia untuk pertama kalinya di Jawa dan menyediakan sekuen ITS untuk tujuan mendukung hasil identifikasi morfologi. Kami menggunakan wilayah ITS untuk DNA barcode dan berhasil diamplifikasi sebanyak 826 bp nukleotida. Database NCBI digunakan untuk membedakan R. rotundifolia dengan jenis Rotala lainnya serta penggunaan Heimia apetala sebagai outgroup. Hasil konstruksi pohon filogenetik dengan jelas menunjukkan bahwa jenis Rotala yang ditemukan tumbuh meliar dan ternaturalisasi di Desa Parakan merupakan Rotala rotundifolia dengan tingkat kemiripan sekuen sebesar 99,97%. Pendekatan molekuler melalui DNA barcode dapat membantu proses identifikasi tumbuhan sehingga mampu memperkuat determinasi jenis melalui morfologi secara tepat dan lebih efisien.
