Abstract

The results showed that, the forms of body shaming experienced are face shaming, fat shaming and skinny shaming. The impacts of body shaming behavior include negative impacts, namely going on a strict diet, causing discomfort in the victim, avoiding the social environment and affecting social relationships, and lowering confidence.  The positive impact of body shaming is to be a motivation to the victim as well as to take better care of the body. Sorority's view of body shaming behavior, as a Muslim should avoid reproach because denouncing acts are prohibited in religion and can cause adverse effects especially to victims and divisions among others in addition to denouncing each other just as we denounce the creation of Allah swt.

Abstract

Death is a mystery that is given different attention in every society based on religion and beliefs held in its culture. The diversity of treatment in the event of death is believed to be a reflection of the views of individuals and society in understanding death. This study aims to answer the question: How do people view death and the nature in which humans live after death? and What is the attitude of the community in dealing with the death of their family? The research was conducted in Makassar City with a qualitative research type with an emic approach. Sources of data obtained by in-depth interview techniques, and observation. Study of literature/documents as secondary data by tracing the relevant literature. Meanwhile, data processing and analysis techniques were carried out along with data collection, through data reduction based on the topic of discussion, presenting data in a narrative manner and drawing conclusions. Based on this research, it is known that death is seen as an event of separation between spirit and body and death will surely come, there are those who understand that death is the end of everything but there are those who understand that death is not the end of everything who will be resurrected in the afterlife to take responsibility. deeds in the world. The afterlife is the one to go to after death by going through several processes, and is considered an eternal place. There are different views of the community on the process of accountability in the hereafter to go to the provided nature. Abstract

Pengetahuan tradisional merupakan suatu kebudayaan ataupun kekayaan intelektual yang bersifat komunal dan turun temurun yang diwariskan dari generasi ke generasi berikutnya. Salah satu kabupaten yang ada di Sulawesi Barat adalah Kabupaten Polewai Mandar yang memiliki kultur budaya yang mengandung filosofi telah menurun dari nenek moyang mereka yaitu Saeyyang Pattuqduq. Tradisi Saeyyang Pattuqduq adalah tradisi syukuran terhadap anak yang berhasil mengkhatamkan Al-Qur'an. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kepustakaan dengan menggunakan beberapa pendekatan historis, antropologi dan sosiologi. Adapun metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu: observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini mengungkap bahwa Pertama, bentuk akulturasi budaya dengan ajaran agama Islam yakni Saeyyang Pattuqduq bermula dari tingkah laku. Kedua,. Ketiga mempunyai nilai dan daya tarik bagi semua kalangan baik dalam lingkup domestik maupun mancanegara, pagelaran yang dilaksanakan setiap tahunnya dijadikan sebagai bentuk pelaksanaan Festival.

Abstract

Palpolas in Taba language means payment. The payment in question is the surrender of a sum of money made by members of the local community on the tenth day of the death ceremony because it costs up to hundreds of millions of rupiah. The results of observations and interviews at the research location using the Bourdieu Practical Theory guide show that Palpolas is basically a reciprocal in overcoming the costs of the death ritual, but the ritual owner tries to collect a source of capital, by displaying symbols of kinship clans in a sacred room when bathing the corpse. , burial and Tapin (ritual center), so that it appears a knot that the local community is one family so they voluntarily pay for the ritual. In practice, there was a gamble between the family of the ritual owner and the general public at the time of Palpolas. The owner of the ritual tries to show a symbol of social prestige by minimizing the public debt that must be paid off, while the public wants to show a symbol of dominance by depositing Palpolas money more than once

Abstract

Human being is ‘zoon politicon’ and human being lives to get involved in politics. This classic statement by Aristotles is still relevant to relate to the political system within the community today. Political structure was established to enhance and to fulfill all needs of human life. Due to this, political system may be applied to all walks of life. For common people, political structure is mainly based on family tree and bloodlines.

Abstract

Secara umum, pembangunan infrastruktur dimaksudkan untuk lebih meningkatkan kesejahteraan bagi masyarakat. Namun apabila mengabaikan aspek studi kelayakan dan analisis dampak lingkungan, maka akan berpotensi menciptakan kerusakan ekologi maupun ekonomi dan sosial budaya masyarakat setempat. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui landasan kebijakan, juga untuk mengetahui dampak sosial dan ekonomi dari keberadaan tambang pasir terhadap masyarakat Galesong. Penelitian ini menggunakan bentuk studi mikro demografi atau biasa disebut quasi anthropological. Penelitian ini dilakukan di wilayah pesisir pantai Galesong. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan secara kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas penambangan pasir di wilayah pesisir pantai Galesong dimulai pada Tahun 2017 sehingga belum mengacu pada Perda Sulsel No. 2 Tahun 2019, dimana sebagai acuan untuk mengeluarkan izin lokasi dan izin pengelolaan pertambangan pasir di Sulawesi Selatan. Adapun dampak dari aktivitas penambangan pasir terhadap kondisi sosial ekonomi masyarakat di wilayah pesisir pantai Galesong, antara lain hilangnya wilayah penangkapan ikan akibat pengerukan pasir laut, menyebabkan air menjadi keruh. Selain itu, terjadi perubahan sosial ekonomi, dimana para nelayan kecil harus meninggalkan aktifitasnya dan bergabung dengan para nelayan penangkap ikan di laut dalam dan menjadi sawi pada punggawa perahu-perahu besar. Dampak selanjutnya adalah adanya patroli polisi laut yang membuat para nelayan merasa tertekan dan tidak lagi memiliki kebebasan untuk melaut seperti dulu kala. Dengan dasar kesimpulan tersebut, diharapkan Pemerintah Daerah membuat model kebijakan dalam pengelolaan aktivitas penambangan pasir di wilayah pesisir pantai Galesong. Jika tidak, cepat atau lambat masalahnya akan semakin membesar.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami makna yang terkandung dalam proses Maccera' ana di Desa Kaboe, Kecamatan Tiroang, Kabupaten Pinrang melalui pendekatan fenomenologi serta mengetahui pandangan tokoh agama dan masyarakat Islam terkait tradisi kelahiran bayi yang ada di wilayah tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Sumber data penelitian meliputi tokoh agama, masyarakat, dan sanro (praktisi adat).  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Maccera' ana memiliki dua makna utama: sebagai bentuk pengorbanan dan penyucian bagi bayi agar terhindar dari bahaya dan penyakit yang dikirim oleh orang-orang yang iri. Ritual ini dilakukan sejak sebelum kelahiran hingga aqiqah, bahkan setelahnya. Pandangan tokoh agama dan masyarakat Islam terhadap tradisi ini mengungkapkan adanya problematika, terutama pada beberapa unsur yang bertentangan dengan ajaran Islam, seperti penggunaan darah hewan sebagai media ritual yang tidak diperbolehkan dalam agama. Meskipun demikian, tradisi ini dinilai penting untuk dilestarikan karena memiliki nilai budaya yang mendalam, namun perlu adanya penyesuaian agar sejalan dengan ajaran agama Islam.

Abstract

This study analyzes the roofs of Baringeng houses as a reflection of the dialectic between local beliefs and Islam and its implications for socio-religious life. The focus of the study includes: the determination of house roofs, the interaction between traditional values and Islamic teachings, and their impact on community life. This study uses qualitative methods with an ethnographic and theological approach. Data was obtained through observation, interviews with village officials, religious leaders, builders, and the community, as well as document studies. The analysis was carried out through the stages of collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion.The results of the study show that the direction and shape of the roof are still influenced by traditional customs. The west direction is chosen because it corresponds to the qibla and is believed to bring blessings, while the timpa laja shape reflects social status. This tradition demonstrates the harmony between customs and Islam, strengthening both cultural and religious identity. The implications are that, socially, it strengthens solidarity and the visual unity of the settlement, while religiously, it facilitates the arrangement of worship spaces in accordance with the qibla.
