Abstract

Considerable studies on learning so far had been much on limited terms of learning outcomes, curriculum, theories of learning, teaching methods and teacher competencies. Only a handful information on school and classroom contexts, and relevant expressions of teacher perceptions were provided to explain the instructional process. Therefore, this study aimed at examining the effectiveness of constructs on active instruction at the elementary schools. This research was a causal-correlational type using a sample of 1026 elementary school teachers who spread across six provinces, namely West and Central Java, West and East Nusatenggara, South Celebes, and South Borneo. Data accessed from the MGPBE program sponsored by the European Union. Statistical modeling through multiple regression analysis, estimated effect size and determinant coefficients were calculated and used. It found that there were discrepancies in the picture of active instruction between schools in the mainland and outside of Java except for NTB; related constructs on classrooms were significant and had an effect of about fifty per cent, while the institutional level constructs were not significant, the geographical disparity between locations had significant effects although of around three pe cent. These findings had an impact on education policies to determine strategies for improving instruction at elementary school classrooms.

Abstract

Pendidikan saat ini menuntut output yang berkualitas dan mampu bersaing secara global. Kualitas pendidikan tidak hanya diukur melalui perkembangan intelektual, tetapi juga melalui pembentukan karakter siswa. Di era globalisasi, di mana pengetahuan, teknologi, dan seni berkembang pesat, Indonesia menghadapi krisis moral dan penurunan budaya sopan santun di kalangan siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami strategi guru dalam menerapkan pendidikan karakter di Sekolah Dasar Negeri Sukun 01 Malang. Subjek penelitian meliputi Kepala Sekolah, Guru Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan, dan Guru Agama. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif yang menggambarkan data dalam bentuk kata-kata berdasarkan temuan lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi pendidikan karakter di Sekolah Dasar Negeri Sukun 01 Malang dilaksanakan melalui langkah pembiasaan yang sesuai dengan nilai-nilai Penguatan Pendidikan Karakter, yaitu religius, nasionalis, mandiri, gotong royong, dan integritas. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya integrasi nilai-nilai tersebut dalam proses pendidikan untuk mengatasi krisis moral dan membentuk generasi yang berkarakter.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the influence of teacher pedagogic competence on learning achievement, the influence of learning motivation on learning achievement, and the influence together of the influence of teacher pedagogic competence and learning motivation on the learning achievement of social studies subjects of SDN Cluster 1 Walea Besar District, Tojo Una-una Regency. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational descriptive design. The population in this study was all students of SDN Cluster 1, Walea Besar District, Tojo Una-una Regency, as many as 362 students. The sampling technique uses cluster sampling technique with a total of 80 students in grades IV, V, and VI of SDN 1 Supply. The data collection method uses questionnaires and documents, while the questionnaires are tested simultaneously with research samples with validity and reliability tests. Based on the results of the data analysis obtained, this study found that there is an influence of teacher pedagogic competence on student learning achievement. This is evidenced by the value for the teacher's pedagogical competence variable (X1) in the Sig column. is 0.000 less than alpha 0.05 and the calculated value is greater than the ttable at the 5% significance level of 12.932 > 1.664. There is an influence of learning motivation on student learning achievement. This is evidenced by the value for the variable pedagogical competence of the learning teacher (X2) in the Sig column. is 0.000 less than alpha 0.05 or the calculated value greater than ttable i.e. 10.258 > 1.664. There is no influence of teacher pedagogic competence and motivation to learn together on student learning achievement. This is evidenced by the sig column. is 0.816 more than alpha 0.05.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the meaning of local wisdom "Sea Picking" as a learning resource in improving students' understanding of Social Sciences (IPS) at SDN Kalibuntu 2 Probolinggo Regency. Using qualitative methods and phenomenological approaches, this study explores the subjective experiences of students and teachers in the learning process involving the "Sea Picking" tradition. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observations, and documentation, which allowed researchers to understand how involvement in these traditions affected student learning outcomes. The results of the study showed that the involvement of students in the "Sea Picking" activity not only increased their knowledge of the local culture, but also formed social character and positive values such as mutual cooperation and gratitude. Students reported increased interest and motivation in learning social studies, as well as better critical thinking skills after engaging in the activity. The implications of this study show that the integration of local wisdom in social studies learning can improve students' understanding and form better character. Therefore, it is important for VII educators to develop a more flexible curriculum and accommodate learning activities outside the classroom. This research also provides recommendations for teacher training in learning methods based on local wisdom, as well as the development of teaching materials that are more interactive and innovative.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter dan sosial budaya yang terkandung dalam prosesi adat Posuo pada remaja putri Suku Buton. Tradisi Posuo merupakan upacara adat yang menandai masa peralihan dari remaja menuju kedewasaan dan berfungsi sebagai sarana pembentukan moral serta etika bagi perempuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi langsung, wawancara mendalam dengan Bhisa (pemimpin ritual), tokoh adat, serta peserta Posuo, dan dilengkapi dengan dokumentasi kegiatan. Analisis data dilakukan secara interaktif melalui tahapan reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Posuo mengandung lima nilai utama, yaitu nilai moral, spiritual, sosial, gender, dan edukatif. Nilai moral tercermin dalam ajaran kesucian diri dan tanggung jawab, nilai spiritual diwujudkan melalui doa dan dzikir, sedangkan nilai sosial terlihat dari solidaritas masyarakat selama prosesi berlangsung. Perempuan ditempatkan sebagai simbol kesucian dan kehormatan keluarga, sehingga mempertegas peran sosialnya dalam budaya Buton. Tradisi ini membuktikan bahwa kearifan lokal memiliki kontribusi besar dalam pembentukan karakter generasi muda. Penerapan nilai-nilai Posuo dapat menjadi inspirasi dalam pengembangan pendidikan karakter berbasis budaya di sekolah-sekolah Indonesia.

Abstract

In the learning process at the classroom, the teachers’ teaching practice contributes significantly to the students’ academic achievement. One of the aspects of teaching practice, teachers’ positive expectation towards students, has been proved to play important roles in improving students’ academic performance. However, in fact, many students especially low achieving students believed that they were not treated accordingly. This study was conducted with the following purposes: (1) to improve the teachers’ positive expectations towards their students, especially low academic achieving students, and (2) to prosper the positive perception of students regarding their relationships with their teachers, classroom climate, and their academic ability. This study was designed as an action research. Although the results could only be observed in improving the classroom climate, and not yet on the understanding learning materials and improving thinking skills, but implementation of the program on a longer-term and more intensive feedback sessions could bring more valuable results regarding teaching effectiveness. Dalam proses pembelajaran di kelas, cara guru memandu pembelajaran akan memengaruhi keberhasilan dalam belajar. Salah satu aspek yang memengaruhi belajar siswa adalah harapan guru terhadapnya. Akan tetapi dari survei awal diperoleh bahwa para siswa, khususnya siswa dengan prestasi kurang, menilai guru kurang memberikan harapan positif terhadapnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) meningkatkan harapan guru terhadap siswa khususnya siswa dengan prestasi kurang dan 2) mengembangkan persepsi yang positif pada diri siswa terkait dengan relasinya dengan guru, iklim kelas, serta terhadap kemampuan belajarnya.Desain penelitian adalah penelitian tindakan, yang menghasilkan semakin positifnya persepsi siswa terhadap relasinya dengan guru serta iklim kelasnya setelah penerapan tindakan. Akan tetapi peningkatan pada persepsi terhadap kemampuan belajar serta prestasi akademik masih belum tampak. Penerapan tindakan yang berulang serta penyampaian balikan terhadap guru, diharapkan akan menghasilkan cara pembelajaran yang lebih efektif.
